Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 187: THE BOMBSHELLS

Chapter 187: THE BOMBSHELLS

Desmond’s face was still etched with fury as he stood in his living room, his phone clenched in his hand.

While Julian was still on the other end of the line, listening to his dad seething with anger.

"Dad, I told you it’s my life, I will take care of my mess, you will agree to the marriage please..."

Desmond is left in pure horror listening to his son. "Are you out of your mind?"Desmond yelled again just as he was about to unleash another barrage of insults, Becky rushed downstairs, her eyes wide with concern, she had jet got a call from Tonia.

"Desmond, what’s wrong?" she asked, rushing towards him.

But before he could respond, Becky’s eyes landed on Julian’s name on the caller ID.

"Don’t tell me, it’s true your son finally got that cheating bitch and whore pregnant, despite being married to Astrid for more than a year!" Becky exclaimed, trying to get her grasp on the situation.

Julian’s hands rubbed through his hair in frustration. "Mum, please... you don’t have to get worried. Can you just ease up and give me time? I promise all these will be sorted out."

Becky’s expression turned incredulous. "Sorted out? Are you telling me you are going to sort it out after you have already gotten her pregnant? What if the child isn’t even yours but Stephan?" Becky snatched the phone from her husband.

"Why rush into marriage? What about your promise to Astrid? Why not have a DNA test before accepting? The fuck, why is there still love between you two!"

Julian was taken aback by his mother’s words. He had no idea she knew about Mattie’s infidelity until now. "Mum, how did you...? You knew Mattie was cheating on me all this while?"

"Yes, I do,"

A painful chuckle left his lip, " Why didn’t you tell me?" Becky rolled her eyes at his question.

"Would you have listened if I did? You were so blinded by love and stupidity that you wouldn’t have believed me even if I told you."

Julian’s face reddened with anger. "Why the hell did you keep this truth from me? She was cheating on me with my best friend!"

Becky’s voice rose to a yell. "You stupid boy! I did everything in my power to keep you away from her. But you were too stubborn, too blinded by your love for her. And now look what’s happened! She’s pregnant with another man’s child, and you are still trying to protect her!"

Julian’s hands clenched into fists as he listened to his mother’s words. He felt like he had been punched in the gut like all the air had been sucked out of him. He was sliding down the wall, his back against the cool surface as he tried to calm his nerves.

He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His mother had known all along, and she had done nothing to stop it.

Suddenly, Becky’s voice dropped to a whisper. "You know, Julian, I purposely got Astrid married to you. I thought she was the perfect woman for you, but I was wrong. She might be perfect for you but you are not perfect for her."

Julian’s eyes widened in shock at another bombshell. "What do you mean you purposely got Astrid married to me? How?"

Becky sighed, her voice heavy with regret. "It’s a long story, Julian. One that I’ll tell you another time. But for now, just know that I did what I thought was best for you, even if it was wrong."

Julian’s mind was reeling as he tried to process everything his mother had just told him.

"Long story? Mum... this is my life you toyed and now you are telling me it’s a long story... I want it now, every damn detail!"

Becky sighed and explained, "I knew right from the start that Astrid was the granddaughter of Gilbert and the daughter of my best friend, Elizabeth. Before Elizabeth passed away, she had reached out to me a few months before your wedding and made me promise to watch over Astrid and protect her from harm."

Julian’s eyes widened in shock. "You knew her whereabouts all these while and still pretended not to when I called you?"

Becky nodded. "Yes, I did. And when I heard that Josh was trying to marry her off, I knew I had to act fast. I couldn’t let her fall into the wrong hands."

Julian’s anger boiled over. "So then you manipulated me into marrying her?"

Becky’s expression remained calm. "I am so sorry, I thought it was better to make you marry my best friend’s daughter than the cheating whore."

Julian’s eyes narrowed as another bitter laugh escaped his lip. He always tagged himself as perfect, he knew every damn game played against him but never that of his mum. She gave birth to him so it can be understood how perfect she was in her game.

"How did you arrange it?" he asked again.

"I threatened to cut off our business deal with the Adams unless Miles agreed to help me." Julian bit his lip hearing Miles also knew about this, so he knew his sister was cheating on him.

"The bitch still decided to sleep with Stephan the morning of your ceremony, and I was happy because it meant she would come late."

"I made Miles wait at the door, and once he saw Astrid, he would invite her into your hall. I knew she wouldn’t back down before it was like God came through for her and this wouldn’t make her get married to a man old enough to be her father."

Julian’s face turned red with rage as he punched the wall infuriated. Now he got it, Miles said he didn’t know she was the one because of the wedding veil but it was all a lie he knew and had it well planned out with his mum.

"You used me, mum... one of my best friends has been cheating on me with my girl, while the other joined hands with my mum, to make me a fool."

Becky’s expression finally cracked, and she looked at Julian with tears in her eyes. "I am sorry, Julian. I know I shouldn’t have kept it a secret from you. But I was desperate to protect Astrid, and I didn’t know what else to do."

"You’re unbelievable!" he shouted and only then did she know she had hurt her son so much.

"I fucking blamed Astrid, I made her life a living hell, I acted nonchalantly and my friend also didn’t make things easier for her mum." he let out another frustration.

"Mattie threatened her life several times and I foolishly didn’t care."

"I will apologize to..."

"How many people knew about this plan? Dad knew? Who again?" He cut his mum off.

"Just me and Miles... your dad knew a year ago." Julian snagged his phone against the wall.

"Fyck it!" he growled punching the wall over and over again, his hands going through his hair continuously like he was losing his mind.

"I made her go through pain when it wasn’t even her fault!" he yelled punching the wall till his knuckles were numb and he could no longer feel the pain.

"How can I get her to forgive me?" he cried out talking to no one in particular.

Just then, Donald appeared, his eyes wide with concern as he rushed to him. "Julian, what’s going on? Why are you acting like this? You are in the hospital for fuck sake! People are watching."

Julian turned to him, his eyes blazing with anger, "I don’t care what they think!" he yelled leaving Donald stunned.

The Julian he knew was always cautious and well-retained, he wasn’t the kind to let out his anger this way.

"Is there a prob..." his question was left hanging when the door opened and Astrid appeared with her eyes wide with concern, seeing Julian’s bleeding knuckles.

"Julian!" she called as she grabbed his hands, "Yo... you are bleeding, you need to treat it." she cried out, forgetting the beef she was still having with him.

"No!" Julian let out snatching his hands from her grip, and this left her heartbroken.

Julian’s eyes locked onto hers, and he felt a pang of guilt. He had been so blind, so stupid.

"Why would you care for me?" he asked and Astrid stared at him confused at the same time hurt.

Maren, noticing Astrid’s change of demeanor, moved toward her, pulling her back.

"Julian, if you want to hurt her with your words then get out of the room, I won’t watch her go through another round of pain again," Maren warned, trying to take Astrid inside but Julain’s next word stopped her.

"Astrid, can you ever forgive me?" Julian asked, his voice shaking with pain.

Astrid’s lips parted, but no words came out. She was speechless, unsure of how to respond to Julian’s sudden display of vulnerability.

"I have been a monster to you. I have blamed you for everything when in reality I am not perfect for you, I am so sorry, Astrid. I don’t deserve your forgiveness,"

And then, a move that left Astrid breathless, Julian fell to his knees. His eyes locked onto hers, filled with a deep sadness and longing.

The sound of Julian’s knees hitting the floor left the three lads shocked.
