Chapter 160: LETTING OUT HER ANGER
Chapter 160: LETTING OUT HER ANGER
Astrid’s eyes were wide with worry as she sat beside Julian, her hand grasping his limp one.
His pale skin and weak breathing sent a wave of fear through her. "Hey please, what is wrong? Why are you this hot?" she asked worriedly as she kept jerking him to open his eyes.
She quickly grabbed her phone, paced around, and dialed Miles’ number, since the only one he could think of in this situation was her hands shaking as she waited for him to answer.
"Miles, it’s Astrid. Julian’s sick, and I don’t know what to do," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"What? But.."
"Please come now, maybe I should take him to a doctor. I am confused," she cried and then she felt him shake. She ran to him, "Julian, look at me, I am right here.." she lifted him onto her body again and noticed his weak eyes shaking his head.
"I am fine, just need rest," he murmured against her chest and rolled her eyes.
Miles’ calm voice on the other end of the line helped to soothe her frazzled nerves. "I will be right there, Astrid. Just stay with Julian, and I will take care of everything." he let out.
"But,"
"He doesn’t go to the hospital, just stay there with him,"
As Astrid waited for Miles to arrive, she helped him to the couch, it was so hard for her but she could make it. She ran to the kitchen to help him with cold water and placed it on his head to cool down his temperature.
Just then she heard the doorbell ring and she rushed over knowing Miles had arrived.
Stephan rushed inside not waiting for her to talk as he found his way to Julain, still on the couch.
"Why put him here? He should have been on a fucking bed!" Stephan yelled at her, "Hey, she is a lady, she can’t pull him up the stairs." Mils corrected him.
"Did he go out in the rain yesterday?" Stephan asked, his voice low and menacing.
Astrid nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "Yes, he did. I was mad at him, and I left the car. He followed me, but I didn’t think he would get that sick." she explained, filled with regret.
Stephan’s face turned red with rage as he heard this."You did the same thing last year, Astrid! You left him, and he got sick. If it wasn’t for Miles’ quick thinking, we would have lost him. He refuses to take care of himself because of you!" Astrid swallowed hard at his accusations, not like she knew about it.
"You’re so selfish, Astrid, always thinking of yourself and your feelings. You never stop to think about how your actions affect Julian."
Astrid felt a sting from Stephan’s words, and she looked down, tears welling up in her eyes, it wasn’t her fault she didn’t purposely push him into the rain.
Miles moved toward them, his expression calm, but his eyes flashing with anger at Stephan.
"Hey, that’s not fair, Stephan," Miles said, his voice firm but gentle. "Julian’s a grown man. He knows how to take care of himself, he knows what his body wants but still went into the rain, don’t accuse her."
Stephan turned on Miles, his anger boiling over. "You are always defending her, Miles. You never see the harm she causes. Julian loves her, and she’s always hurting him. She’s so blind to his feelings."
Miles sighed, his expression tired. "Stephan, stop. This isn’t the time or the place. Julian needs our help right now, not our arguments."
Astrid felt a surge of gratitude towards Miles, but Stephan’s words had struck a chord. She looked down at Julian, feeling a pang of guilt and regret.
Miles and Steohan helped Julian to one of the rooms with the help of Astrid’s guidance.
Stephan quickly administered an injection to Julian, and after a few minutes, he walked out of the room, looking exhausted. His eyes locked onto Astrid’s, and he glared at her.
"How is he?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"You need to stay away from him, and stop making him act stupid," Stephan said, his voice low and menacing.
Astrid’s anger boiled over, and she yelled back at Stephan. "You have no right to say anything about our relationship!" she spat, her voice echoing through the hallway.
"What? Did you just say our relationship?" she rolled her eyes at this.
"Yes, I did... Do you think I am still scared of you bastard? Trust me I will repay you clearly when I get your time."
With that, she stormed into the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
The sound of the door banging against Stephan’s face was satisfying, and Astrid felt a sense of triumph at having stood up to him.
As she turned to face Julian, he lay there unconsciously pale and sleeping like a sleeping beauty.
She walked over to the bed and sat down beside Julian, taking his hand in hers. "I am so sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Just then the thought of what had caused this in the first place flashes through her head.
"You’re selfish," she whispered to Julian, her voice barely audible. "You decided to get sick when I was supposed to be the one mad at you. You always do this, Julian. You always make me feel guilty and worried about you."
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and she felt a weight of emotion crushing her. She was scared, worried, and guilty all at once.
She felt a surge of resentment towards him, and her hands began to shake with rage.
With a sudden burst of anger, she started hitting Julian’s chest, her fists pounding against him.
"You are selfish!" she cried, her voice hoarse with emotion. "It isn’t fair! You have no right to make me feel like I’m the bad one! You are the one who hurt me first! I have the right to be mad at you!"
Her words poured out in a torrent of anger and hurt. "I am in pain, Julian! You’re the cause of it! You always do this!"
As she hit him, her tears streamed down her face, and her body shook with sobs. For the moment she didn’t care if it hurt him, she wanted him to feel the pain she was feeling now.
All she cared about was releasing the pent-up emotions that had been building up inside her.
Just then Julian coughed out, his eyes fluttering open, with the pain he had felt from the continuous hitting from his wife.
He still felt so weak but quickly grabbed her hands, a weak smile spreading across his face.
Astrid’s gaze softened as she looked at him, her anger momentarily forgotten.
"At this rate, if I don’t open my eyes I am pretty sure you will kill me," she murmured and she pouted her lips in furry.
Julian tried to sit up, but Astrid gently pushed him back down. "No, Julian, you need to rest," she said, her voice softer now.
"Why the heck did you go into the rain with me and make me go through a series of abuse from your silly friend,"
She grumbled and watched him trying to talk but his throat was scratchy so he shut his lip back.
Astried understood he needed water and she turned to get him some water, but Julian’s grip on her hand tightened.
"Don’t leave me," he whispered, his eyes pleading.
Astrid’s expression turned stern again. "I am just getting you some water, Julian. I will be right back."
But Julian’s grip didn’t loosen. "I want to rest with you, by my side," he said, his voice weak but determined.
Astrid’s anger flared up again. "No, I will call your girlfriend for you," she spat, trying to pull her hand away.
Julian’s eyes narrowed, confusion written across his face. "Why are you so mad at me, Astrid?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Astrid’s face twisted in anger. "Didn’t you spend time with her last night?" she accused, her voice rising.
Julian’s expression turned puzzled, and then a look of realization crossed his face. "Oh, Astrid, I—"
But Astrid cut him off, her anger boiling over. "It’s true, isn’t it? You went back to her after what I told you. You are unbelievable, Julian! I saw the picture’"
Julian’s face went pale, and he looked like he had been punched in the gut.
"What picture are you talking about, Astrid?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Don’t play dumb with me, Julian. I received a message from your girlfriend. She sent me a picture of you two together."
Julian’s face went blank, and he looked like he had been turned to stone. Astrid’s anger and hurt boiled over, and she stood up, pulling her hand out of Julian’s grasp.
"Let me be,"
Just then, Miles and Stephan walked into the room, their faces concerned, they had both heard the screaming and decided to come.
But as soon as Julian saw Stephan, his expression changed, and he looked like he had remembered something.
"Stephan," he called as he forced himself up, "You cease being my friend from onward, I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore."
