Chapter 107: YOU ARE NOT MINE

Chapter 107: YOU ARE NOT MINE

Astrid and Maren got to the mansion, and it was so dark, it was already late and Astrid was sure to tell her mum’s doctor to call her in case of any urgent matter.

Astrid helped Maren into the mansion unaware that Julian, sitting on the couch, looking so drunk until he Finally called their name.

"You are back! Finally!" he let out but Astrid wasn’t in the mood and helped Maren up to her room.

Julian was more than furious seeing she didn’t listen to him, he moved toward her pulling Astrid hand backward.

"Let me go!" she screamed and Maren didn’t know if she should help her or just let the couple be.

Astrid slapped Julian off pushing him to the ground as she tried to arrange hair.

"Astrid should I.." Maren butted in and Astrid then shook her head, "He wouldn’t hurt me, thanks for asking."

Then Maren took it as her cue to leave. Astrid glanced back at Julian, who sat on the floor, looking so drunk, "Julian what the fuck is wrong with you? Why did you get drunk?"

Julian didn’t say anything but just sat there babbling words on the tongue and Astrid sighed undecided, to take him up to his room.

He has always been the one who helps her when she’s in an unconscious state. This is the time to also do the same for him.

She squats, and this makes Julian look up. He grabs her closer and wraps his hand around her back.

"Julian, are you crazy? Let me go!" Astrid screamed, struggling to break free from his grasp.

But Julian wasn’t ready to release her. His head rested on her shoulder, and he continued to mumble incoherent words under his breath.

"He pulled her closer, his lip kissing her neck as he placed different kisses there," She shut her eyes in frustration at how she was still weak in his arms.

He gets her every time and she was getting tired of this, he traced his lips all over her neck as he grabbed both arms.

"Julian, you need to go inside your room. You can’t sleep in the living room," Astrid announced, trying to push him away.

Julian’s gaze lifted, his eyes locking onto hers. "My room?" he repeated, his voice laced with confusion.

Astrid nodded fervently. "Yeah, your room."

Julian’s grip relaxed, and he let go of her. Astrid seized the opportunity, grasping his arm to steer him toward the stairs.

"Come on, Julian. Let’s get you upstairs," she coaxed.

But Julian resisted, his feet rooted to the spot. "You are pushing me away, Astrid," he whispered, his eyes filled with a deep sadness.

Astrid’s expression softened, but she remained resolute. "No, Julian, I am just trying to help you up, I am not the one you want." she exhaled sharply.

"Mattie is the one your heart wants, so please stop trying to confuse me," she let out, as she stomped her leg on the ground, her voice almost breaking.

"But I am serious, you all should stop calling Mattie my woman, I only feel guilty for wanting someone else when she was the one who should have been my wife."

Astrid didn’t let her tears trickle down. "Astrid.." he whispered and she wiped her tears.

"Let’s go upstairs," she let out as she wrestled with his reluctance to let her go.

"Please, Julian. Let’s go to your room," Astrid pleaded, almost crying out.

But Julian’s mind was elsewhere. "You won’t kiss me, Astrid, You don’t want me either," he whispered. Astrid’s cheeks flushed.

"That’s not the point right now, Julian."

"You prefer Miles and Rowan to me," he grumbled and Astrid shook her head at this and tugged on Julian’s arm, urging him up the stairs.

"Come on, Julian. Let’s go."

As they climbed, Julian’s legs seemed to weigh a ton, each step a struggle.

"You’re going to make me fall," Astrid warned. Julian’s gaze drifted to hers, his eyes filled with a mixture of longing and desperation.

"I won’t let you fall, Astrid," he whispered.

Astrid’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t let Julian’s words affect her. She had to get him upstairs.

Finally, they reached Julian’s room. Astrid pushed open the door, it’s the first time she was going into his room.

She never crosses her limit when it comes to his room, she can say the room is such a large and beautiful room.

He only allowed Mattie to come inside and not her," she thought. "Aren’t we going in?" Julian’s voice echoed and she regained herself. "Here we are," she announced.

Julian’s eyes scanned the room before returning to Astrid. "Thank you," he whispered.

Astrid’s expression softened. "Just rest, Julian," she said, throwing him to the bed and turning to leave, but Julian’s hand shot out.

"Don’t go," he whispered.

Astrid’s heart was wrenched. She couldn’t stay, she would burst into tears any moment from now if he continued to behave this way.

"What do you want this time?" she asked already looking tired and frustrated.

"I want to be with you, I don’t want to be confused anymore," he pulled her forward roughly as she landed on his chest.

"I love you," he muttered the last word making Astrid eyes widen, she stared at him wondering if she heard wrong but he was already wearing off.

"Julian, did you just?" she asked but stopped midway hearing a soft snore from him.

Astrid sighed tiredly, her shoulders sagging. "I must be going crazy," she whispered to herself, resigned.

She helped Julian remove his shoes, her fingers brushing against his skin.

As she covered him with the duvet, Julian’s hand shot out, grasping hers.

"Stay," he whispered again, his eyes still shut.

Astrid’s heart skipped a beat. She tried to pull away, but Julian’s grip tightened.

"You are mine," he murmured.

Astrid gaze fell upon Julian’s peaceful face, admiring his chiseled features.

His calm nature usually soothed her, but now, it broke her heart.

She knew his heart belonged to Mattie.

As she gazed at Julian, Astrid thoughts swirled "You’re not mine, Julian," she whispered, her heart breaking.
