Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 108: DESMOND ANGER

Chapter 108: DESMOND ANGER

Astrid settled into the plush couch, her muscles still warm from her morning exercise routine, though she had her baby already but could still feel the workout session she had.

The soft hum of the air conditioner and the warmth of the sunbeam streaming through the window pulled her into a relaxing atmosphere.

Maren had been extremely hard on her today, though she wasn’t mad at Maren, it was for her good and also the crazy trouble she was feeling. It is the weekend so Astrid isn’t going to the office today while Maren is the CEO and would go when she wants.

Just then, Maren shuffled into the living room, her steps slow and labored. Her pale complexion and sunken eyes betrayed her frail state.

Astrid’s concern kicked in. "Maren, how are you feeling?"

Maren collapsed onto the couch beside Astrid, her voice barely above a whisper. "Exhausted, hungry, and sad." Astrid smiled at her.

Astrid pulled her into an embrace and she smiled, "You are going to be fine." she murmured.

"I need something warm... comforting." Astrid nodded sympathetically. "Then let’s get you some soup. What kind would you like?"

Maren’s gaze drifted, her thoughts seemingly elsewhere. "Whatever’s easy..."

Astrid took charge. "I will make us some chicken and vegetable soup. Julian will probably need it too when he wakes up." Astrid’s mood changed a bit at the mention of Julian absentmindedly, was she thinking of him too much these days?

Maren’s eyes flickered with gratitude, but her energy was too weary to respond to Astrid words.

Astrid gently helped Maren settle into the couch, covering her with a throw blanket. "Rest, I will handle the cooking."

Astrid stepped into the kitchen and then met two unfamiliar faces in the kitchen.

"Good morning," Astrid said, smiling warmly. "Who are you?" she asked not bothering to hide the surprise still lacing on her face.

The two maids, busy preparing breakfast, looked up and exchanged nervous glances.

"We were employed this morning by Mrs. Logan," Astrid furrowed her eyebrow confused.

"Mrs. Logan?"

"Yeah, boss mum, she said she had fired the previous maids because they didn’t respect you and.." Astrid flickered her eyes in shock.

How did she get to know all that when she doesn’t come here much? She thought.

"Well, I am Astrid.." they both nodded with eagerness. "The boss’ wife," they both let out in unison.

"I am Maria," said the older maid, with a hint of an accent.

"And I am Emma," added the younger maid, her eyes sparkling.

Astrid nodded, making a mental note of how powerful Becky could be.

"Nice to meet you both. I appreciate all your hard work and hope you keep this house running smoothly."

Maria smiled. "Thank you, ma’am. We’re happy to help."

Now that the introductions were out of the way, Astrid turned her attention to breakfast.

"I would like to prepare a healthy breakfast today. Something light and refreshing."

Emma nodded. "Of course, ma’am. What did you have in mind?"

Astrid thought for a moment.

"Avocado toast with scrambled eggs and whole-grain English muffins. And a fresh fruit platter."

Maria began e chopping fresh herbs, while Emma cracked eggs into a bowl.

"Oh, and one more thing," Astrid added. "I need to make a hangover soup for Julian. Something to help him recover from last night."

Maria raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Astrid continued, "And another portion for Maren, please. She’s not feeling well either."

Emma nodded sympathetically. "Right away, ma’am."

As they worked, Astrid supervised, ensuring every dish met her dietary standards.

She added a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to Julian’s hangover soup for an extra kick.

Within an hour, the kitchen transformed into a culinary haven.

Steaming bowls of hangover soup, filled with tender chicken, vegetables, and quinoa, sat alongside a fruit platter and crispy avocado toast.

Astrid inspected the spread, satisfied. "Perfect. Let’s set up the dining area."

Maria and Emma arranged the dishes,

As they finished, Astrid helped Maren walk to the dining looking pale.

"Astrid handed her a steaming bowl of soup. "Feel better?"

Maren took a sip, her eyes widening in appreciation. "This smells amazing. Thank you, Astrid."

Astrid smiled warmly. "Anytime. Now, eat up, and let’s get your day started."

Just then Julian stumbled into the dining room, bleary-eyed.

"Good morning," Julian greeted and the maids ran along to where he stood now bowing.

With his hands on his forehead, one could tell that he was suffering from a hangover from drinking last night.

"Who are you?" he asked and they were about to respond when Astrid butted in.

"New maid sent by mum, Good morning," Astrid greeted as she moved closer to him.

"What is wrong?" Astrid tried to help him sit, " Suffering from the hangover last night I drank way too much."

"Help me with some hangover soup," Astrid instructed and Maria and Emma exchanged amused glances before hurrying into the kitchen.

Julian, still reclining on the couch, groggily opened his eyes. "If you had known you would suffer this much, why did you drink so much?"

He smiled wryly. "I was trying to drown my sorrows, I presume?"

Maren, seated nearby, sipped her soup, watching the exchange with interest.

Julian rubbed his temples. "It wasn’t easy to shake off. You know that."

Astrid nodded sympathetically.

As she turned to join the maids in the kitchen, Julian suddenly grasped her arm, his eyes narrowing. "Wait, did you take me to my room?"

Astrid’s expression turned thoughtful. "Yeah, I did, even though it was so hard that I never hope to do it anymore."

"What?" his gaze furrowed.

"But yes, I managed to get you upstairs."

Julian’s gaze probed hers, he was trying to recall what had occurred for Astrid to say this but he couldn’t, his whole head was blank from the previous night’s scene.

Then he glanced at Astrid seeking answers. "Did I do anything crazy last night?" Maren scuffed and stood from her seat, "I should probably let you guys get something to do in my room." Maren let out an S before Astrid could stop her Juliam pulled her back.

Astrid stared at him but couldn’t keep her angry face seeing he was dead serious and curious.

"Nothing out of the ordinary," she answered.

Julian’s eyes lingered on hers, sensing she was hiding something.

He wanted to get an answer so he pulled Astrid Closer to him, his grip firm but gentle.

"Tell me, what happened?" he urged, his voice low.

Astrid’s smile faltered for an instant before she recovered. "Julian, nothing."

But Julian’s grip tightened, his eyes burning with curiosity.

Maria and Emma who had come back with the soul dropped it and discreetly busied themselves going back to the kitchen, sensing the unfolding drama.

"Have your hangover soup and stop disturbing me, I need to have my lovely rest today." she let out gesturing to the soup and Julian sat back down.

Staring at the soup and Astrid, she scoffed and walked out on him heading to her room, appetite for breakfast lost already.

She was about to walk inside her room when noticed Julian behind her. Before she could stop him he walked inside the room and slammed the door shut.

"Astrid, what is the problem?" he asked.

Astrid was already annoyed at the fact he forgot the word he had said. She wanted to place a little hope on them but now he didn’t even recall how would even think he said that shit.

She shut her lips and refused to give a response when someone knocked on the door.

"Good day boss, your mum is around.." Astrid glanced at him and rolled her eyes.

"Tell her will be down the stairs in five," he said.

"Astrid, I have a feeling you are keeping something from me about what I had done last night, and I would make sure I find out what it is.

She scoffed and walked out of the room heading to the living room. But her steps stopped midway seeing her father was also with them.

"Dad," she called quietly and a small smile broke on his face, "Dear Daughter It’s an honor to see you again," and the smile on Astrid’s face disappeared, seeing that it was about to do some kind of weird trick, but she could not place her hands on it.

She moved to the Logans, and before she could greet them, Becky pulled her into his strong, warm embrace.

"Sweetheart, how have you been doing? Did he treat you well or has been a douchebag,"

Astrid pondered on the reason why they looked worried as they asked about Julain from her.

"Wh... why?" she mumbled under her breath and then she glanced at Julian.

Desmond then stared at Julain who looked confused, "Dad, what is the pro..." his words were left-hanging when Desmond kicked his leg and walked off with just two words.

"Let’s talk!" Julian glanced at his mum who only glared at him and looked back at Astrid.

He sighed and tagged along with his dad until they got to Julian’s room.

He shit the door still with different thoughts swirling in his head, "Dad, what’s wrong?" but it all needed with lunch making him groan in pain.

"I told you not to meet with Mattie anymore, after the marriage with Astrid" he growled, and Julian shifted back in shock seeing how angry his dad was.

"Common Dad! That shit hurts!" he groaned, referring to the punch.

"I have cut off ties with Adams. Why are you still hovering around her when you’re already."

"Dad, you know I loved her." he let out, still groaning in pain.

"Really? Then explain this.." Julian looked up to see a file with his dad.

"It was a court file," he said.

"Wh.. What is this?"

"The project, Mattie sent this to a rival company,"

"What?"

"It’s worth billions Julian!"
