Chapter 103: SHE CAN’T GET DISCHARGE
Fear gripped Astrid as Maren clutched her stomach, her face distorted in pain.
"Somebody help!" Astrid screamed, her voice echoing through the club.
"Careful, please," she cried out, Maren let out with her eyes darting around frantically. "Miles mustn’t find out about this."
Walter, the nearby waiter, rushed over, concern etched on his face. "What’s happening?" He asked.
"Maren’s... she needs help," Astrid stuttered, her hands shaking as she supported her friend.
"Oh my we need to leave soon then," Walter swiftly took charge, helping Astrid guide Maren out of the club.
The cool night air hit them as they stumbled toward the waiting car.
Her chauffeur, alerted by Walter’s urgent call, leaped out to assist.
"What’s wrong, ma’am?" he asked, gently taking Maren’s weight.
"Hospital," Astrid replied, her voice trembling. "We need to get her to the hospital now. And please, discreetly."
His expression turned grave, seeing his boss nursing this pain.
"Understood, ma’am."
As they loaded Maren into the car, Astrid’s anxiety spiked. But her thoughts were interrupted by Maren’s anguished cry.
"Maren, hang in there," Astrid whispered, tears streaming down her face.
The hospital’s emergency entrance loomed ahead. The driver screeched to a halt, and medical staff rushed out to assist.
"Help her!" Astrid pleaded, her voice cracking.
Doctors and nurses swiftly took charge, whisking Maren away. Astrid watched, frozen in worry.
She was still in deep thought about what to do when she noticed Miles and Julian also walking into the hospital.
Her eyes widened and rushed in with the stretcher mixing herself with the crowd.
Just at the same time when Miles looked that way. He felt like he had just seen someone know, but you can’t point it out.
"Miles, what is the problem?" Julian called when he noticed that he stopped working behind him.
"Nothing," Miles answered, his gaze still directed at the place Astrid was standing before, " Then let’s move," he stated out loud and they proceeded with their journey.
They got to Mattie’s room and saw that she was already in your position where she was packing her things ready to get discharged.
"What is going on!" Miles asked seeing Stephan and her together along with their parent standing behind her
"She’s getting discharged. Are you blind to notice that now?" Julian glanced at Tonia with the use of speaking to him.
He was beginning to get pissed with her reaction every time he is here but still controlling himself not to lash out.
"Mum you don’t have to talk to Julian that way, he hates it when someone uses that one on him," Matty, a calm voice.
"I would be nice to him if he hadn’t gotten married..." Her husband gripped her hand shaking his head.
"Married?" Mattie asked in shock, staring at Julian.
"Nope, she didn’t mean marriage she means the marriage you are trying to sort out together," Stephan helped while Julian stood there not saying a word.
One could tell he is furious he’s just standing there and watching them lie about their situation.
"Julian," Mattie called with her hands spread, "I miss you so much," she whispered and he could only walk quietly toward her.
"Mum I want to get discharged and stay with Julian so we can get ready for marriage," Julian gently swatted her hands from him shaking his head.
"No, there is no ceremony going on until you get your memory. There is no way we are doing the celebration until your memory." Julian stated clearly and Tonia clenched her fist.
"Enough of this nonsense okay? If you want to be distant, you should be distant from my daughter.
"No! Mum!" Mattie yelled and everyone was startled by this, "I want Julian, I love him and want to be with him and him alone." Tears begin to trickle down her face.
"Alright Mattie, she wouldn’t just pass don’t cry you are not that strong the doctor is only granting you a discharge because of me,"
"Julian, would take care of me," she said and Stephan stood still.
"What? The last time I checked I was not a doctor. Stephan is the doctor so I don’t get why you expect me to take care of you when what you need now is needs medical attention," Julian explained.
"I am going to live with you," Julian froze at her words. "What? They all let out in unison as they stared at Mattie.
"What?"
"Yes, he is my fiancé so I can go live with him, Mum. You don’t complain about that. Why all of a sudden you don’t want me to go?"
"No, you can’t!"
Mattie’s face reddened as she glared at her mother. "That’s not fair! Julian loves me, and he wants to take care of me. Why can’t I go with him?"
Her mother’s expression remained firm. "Because, Mattie, there are things you don’t know. Things that make it unsafe for you to be with Julian right now."
Mattie’s eyes flashed with defiance. "I don’t care! I want to be with Julian, not stuck here with you!"
With a sudden burst of energy, Mattie tossed off her blankets and swung her legs over the side of the bed, wincing as her wounded leg protested.
"Mattie, stop! You’re not well enough to leave," her mother warned.
But Mattie was beyond reason. She stood up, her bandaged head spinning, and took a step forward.
Julian rushed to support her. "Mattie, please, let me help."
Mattie’s mother intercepted him. "No, Julian. She needs medical care, not your help."
Mattie’s face contorted in rage. "You never want me to be happy! You always control everything!"
With a sweep of her arm, Mattie knocked over a nearby tray, sending medical supplies crashing to the floor.
"Mattie, stop!" her mother cried, trying to restrain her.
But Mattie was beyond control. She stumbled forward, her wounded leg buckling beneath her.
Julian caught her, holding her upright as she struggled against him.
"Let me go! I hate you! I hate you both!" Mattie screamed, tears streaming down her face.
Her mother’s expression softened, but her voice remained firm. "Mattie, stop. You’re hurting yourself."
"Stop it, Mattie. You’re going to wound yourself!" Stephan yelled trying to control her.
"Get the nurses we need to sedate her!" He yelled and almost instantly they were given the sedation injection and she was sedated.
"I am sorry Uncle and Aunty," Stephan let out and glanced at them.
"I don’t think she will be able to get discharged today. She needs the help of a medical team. She’s going into a panic attack constantly and this isn’t a good result."
