Chapter 91: Your Audacity Knows No Bounds

Elaina didn’t expect to enjoy fishing so much, especially with how many fish she had hooked from her fishing rod. It didn’t take an hour before the little basket was now full of fresh fish that she caught.

"See what I mean? The fishes bite so fast that you don’t need to wait too long for them to bite again."

"Is the stream that populated with fish for them to be this plenty? I know that even in the sea, fishing takes a while before they get to bite on the rod."

"No idea. It was like the stream regularly pumps out new fish from time to time and populates them in a very accelerated manner. Even if you fish a basket full of fish, by tomorrow, the number of fish you have fished here will be replenished immediately that even I as a goddess find it strange."

"So this isn’t part of your power then?"

"Hey, I may be the Harvest Goddess but my domain of control where my powers can affect things only works with the plants and fruit trees. Beyond that, the propagation of the fish is not under my control. I can’t even manipulate the fish otherwise, I would just use my powers to get the fish instead of fishing them up with a makeshift fishing rod."

Elaina wondered about this. Not only is the land of her farm quite mysterious but beyond the forest where the farm connects well with it. Those things just caused her to be so curious about what they were and how they seemed to be more mysterious than they appeared to be.

Elaina invited the Harvest Goddess to eat with them to cook the fish they had taken but she declined.

"Hey, if you want to give me some, then just drop it on the stream and I will not hesitate to receive that. Just do it like the usual," the Harvest Goddess nonchalantly said, hinting her to make it as an offering instead.

Elaina immediately understood what she meant and nodded.

"Alright. Thanks for the tip regarding the fish. This is mind-opening for me. You can expect to get the fish we cooked to be dropped later once they are done cooking."

"Don’t forget, okay?"

Elaina smiled and carried the basket of fish. It’s been a while since they had fish as all they had eaten since she arrived and settled in the farm were either vegetables or meat. Although she favors meat more than fish, eating meat straight would also bore her for quite some time, and would like to have a change of pace for once and the fish is something that would do the trick.

"Who wants some fish?" Elaina entered the house carrying the box of fish in her arms.

"Wait, fish? Sis, we got some fish?" Julia sounds excited after hearing that they got some fish on the stock.

"Woah, woah. Zaza likes to fish a lot! He would be really happy to eat fish!" Princess Margaux exclaimed as she pat her sleeping bear.

"Well, we got plenty of fish here. How about we have a good lunch with fish? It’s been a while since we have eaten some fish, you know?" Elaina smiled as she put down the basket of fish.

"Great! Let me handle this and sit back and relax. I have a dish in mind that I think you guys will love to eat."

Julia was about to carry the basket when all of a sudden, she puked out blood and collapsed on the floor.

"Julia! What’s going on?!" Elaina immediately catches Julia before she fully falls to the floor headfirst.

"Is Miss Julia okay?" Princess Margaux is worried.

"I don’t know. This is the first time I have seen her like this."

"I can use some healing magic, let me help."

"Thanks, Princess. Let’s stabilize her first before we carry her to the bed.

Elaina and Princess Margaux shook Julia who started to convulse and dilate her eyes. Her nose and ears are bleeding as well. While Julia was convulsing on the floor, Elaina heard a loud crack sound outside. It was like the glass breaking to pieces after it fell to the floor or got smashed by a hard object. Then Elaina remembered the barrier.

"Princess, I think I know now what is happening. Can you please continue doing that to Julia? If you are tired, don’t force yourself. I will have to deal with something first."

Princess Margaux nodded as she continued to cast healing magic on Julia while Elaina grabbed her sword that was leaning near the door and immediately headed outside.

There, she saw the Harvest Goddess trying her best to guard the farm against a sorcerer wearing a priest’s garb that Elaina usually saw being worn by high priests of the church back in the Luminiera Kingdom.

"Elaina! They broke the barrier! Trespassers have passed!"

Behind the priest, are none other than her parents, looking smug and surrounded by soldiers.

"Surrender now, Elaina. If you don’t want this place to burn down to ashes, then comply and come with us."

"You pieces of sh*t..." Elaina remained calm but she was holding her all to contain her anger. She didn’t want to be too stressed again or she might endanger her kids.

The High Priest immediately overpowers the Harvest Goddess who didn’t have enough power to even defend herself and she was sent flying before she slumped down, unconscious.

Elaina knew the Harvest Goddess was not that strong since she just recently recovered her powers but managing to defend the place enough to stop them from ruining the place before she got out was already impressive.

"With the annoying spirit gone, it’s time to destroy the heretical spirit for ruining the image of our god and savior!" the Priest then conjures some light magic that he is intending to shoot straight to the unconscious Harvest Goddess.

"You people are f*cking shameless. Your audacity knows no bounds even though you all know that this is private property. And now you trespassers dare to harm others? I see you all don’t value your lives anymore. So be it."

Elaina closed her eyes and in a swift move, disappeared from where she stood before reappearing behind the priest. The bright light magic that the priest was currently channeling disappeared as red blood instead gushed out as Elaina severed his hand that was aiming at the Harvest Goddess.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!" the priest screams in pain as his hand falls to the ground while Elaina calmly flicks her sword to remove the blood that landed on her blade.

"What in the tarnation have you done, Elaina?! Are you now disobeying the will of the-" Before her Father could say anything Elaina released a murderous aura and sent it to her father not too far from her, causing the guy to shiver in fear as he felt the killing intent that her daughter was currently revealing.

"Out of respect, Father, Mother. I didn’t care about that dubious religion of yours and although I followed that religion for years, I never believed in their practice and how it even innocently tries to sacrifice unborn twins just because they view them as a bad omen. And unless you all wanted to also receive the same fate as this poor guy here screaming in pain, leave the farm and don’t bother me again."

"There is no way we will just let you go. Just because you held a sword and attacked a priest who was unguarded you already felt powerful? Then so be it! Guards! Capture her!"

Elaina sighed. Despite her anger and readiness to kill, Elaina refuses to taint her hands with the blood of others. She might kill monsters, but not humans. And even if she really wants to take revenge against her parents, she doesn’t want to be someone who murders people and she doesn’t want to pass judgment herself. Only the gods had the right to do that. And although they are ready to attack and harm her, she is a gentle woman who can kill if she wants to. But decided to spare them out of mercy. After all, it is much harder to hold the urge to kill than the urge to spare the enemy.

As the soldiers tried to attack Elaina, Elaina immediately cripples the soldiers one by one by breaking a few of their bones using her sword’s scabbard while the sword is currently sheathed. It might not be enough to cut their flesh and sever them but that doesn’t mean they are not enough to break bones upon impact.

Elaina is very quick on it, and although she didn’t exert too much effort, Elaina immediately dispatched all enemies before they could even touch a hair of her. The only ones remaining who are standing are both her and her parents who are now panicking.

"Mother, Father. You no longer control my life. I will sever my connection to both of you. Even though I am grateful that you two made me, I am not happy with the way you treat me. I will no longer consider both of you as my parents."

"You worthless piece of-!" Elaina’s father wanted to attack Elaina but then the soldiers of the Darcero Kingdom arrived alongside the First Princess and The First Prince."

"I see that you guys have not learned your lesson huh? Then we will now arrest you under the law of the Darcero Kingdom for the attempt to harm and kidnap a citizen of the kingdom, destruction of property, trespassing, and illegal proselyting!"
