The offer that Shardu gave to Gobruk was something even Elaina was not expecting. Genuinely suggesting that the whole tribe of Greater Ogres work on the farm is not a problem. In fact, she could use some heavy lifters to help her from time to time on the farm, but that doesn’t mean she needed them all the time. And considering that Greater Ogres don’t need money, they will ask for a different kind of wage for their work, like instead of money, they would instead demand food and perhaps a safe place to stay in exchange for the labor.

However, that alone is a big problem considering that the farm is near the public. For the regular people who are not too well-versed with monsters and other entities living in the forest and with how big Greater Ogres are, they are seen as monsters by other people, and there might be some panic if they appear immediately.

So Elaina was hoping that Gobruk would not accept the offer and perhaps find a way to make a different approach, but like always, things do not go their way most of the time.

"Gobruk accepts. If the tribe becomes safe, then I will tell my tribe, Gobruk is responsible for the decision."

Shardu nodded like he was satisfied by Gobruk’s answer.

"[If that is the case, return tomorrow. I will personally help you with dealing with the King of the Forest. Just because I have left my position doesn’t mean I have rusted myself down. I have been conserving my abilities for so long, and thanks to the owner of this farm, who helped me cure my wounds back then and nurtured me with food, I will never become a stronger Beast Lord at all. You can say that this task is the bare minimum. No need to involve the owner and the others about this matter.]"

Elaina was not expecting to hear that from Shardu, and after their conversation, Shardu reverted to his usual form and returned to his usual spot to sleep. As for Gobruk, it seems he has also finished with his reason for coming.

Julia and Princess Margaux went outside the house after listening to the conversations earlier and asked Elaina what had happened all of a sudden.

"Sis, I don’t understand what is going on. Just what happened earlier? Did that Greater Ogre and our pet Shardu just talk with one another?"

"I tried to use my ability to understand the voice of Shardu, but it was so hard to understand, it felt jumbled in my ears when I tried doing so. From the looks of it, you seemed to understand their conversation, Miss Elaina," Princess Margaux guessed.

"Yeah. I did. For some reason, I did understand the words of Shardu. It seems that he offered the Greater Ogre, Gobruk, some help related to the farm in exchange for helping with the annihilation of the target that would be raiding in the few days."

"Eh? That’s what they said? Then how come you didn’t interfere and let everything happen?" Princess Margaux frowned.

"Yeah. Greater Ogres might be neutral species, but they are still scary, and many people will be afraid of them!"

Elaina chuckled and scratched her head. "Well, it sounded nice and all. And besides, if Shardu is the one who will help out in the future, there is no need for me to step in, nor do we need soldiers of the kingdom to be deployed in advance. Julia nodded. "I see how it is. Shardu stood up from his napping spot and went outside before transforming into a big form. Before he can react, Elaina and the three kids have jumped on his back already while Yona is flying behind them.

"Shardu, don’t forget us. If you think this is your battle alone, then you are wrong; this is our battle. Now, let’s go and bring us to the target."

Hearing this, Shardu seems to show a smirk on his mouth and grabs Gobruk on his armor and carries him. Elaina already has the Almanac open, so Elaina heard Shardu give out the command.

"[Now, point their direction. I will carry you.]"

It is time for the preemptive attack.
