Gobruk’s words are enough to raise concern over Elaina and the others. Greater Ogres might be neutral in nature and will not attack humans naturally unless provoked first, but if they are doing it with the plan of conquering and invading, that is a different thing.

"And you said that they are soon going to start their campaign and march towards the first human settlement?" Elaina asked, and Gobruk responded with a nod.

The first human settlement that Gobruk is talking about is the current town where Elaina is living. Considering that this town is not that heavily defended compared to the capital, the initial attack will be pretty devastating. The reason the war against the Luminiera Kingdom went off without a hitch is that there was a preemptive planning that happened, allowing the soldiers and civilians to react before the trouble arrived.

"But are you sure you have to be reporting this matter to us? Considering this is your own kind that is doing this, isn’t this considered a betrayal?"

"Gobruk never betrayed. Gobruk thinks with my tribe. Tribe agreed that violence against humans is not good. Gobruk risks it all to inform, and Gobruk is here."

Elaina now understood why Gobruk decided to do it. First, he is not betraying the trust of the Greater Ogres but instead made this move to save their tribe. It seems the attackers did not know the consequences of their actions, which is why they are so brash and ready to attack. However, the tribe that Gobruk is currently in knows the consequences, and if they didn’t tell the humans about this matter first, not only will the attackers be annihilated in the process, but the humans will also hunt down the remaining Greater Ogres, including the innocent Greater Ogres, making the situation dangerous for them whether they participate or not.

And considering that no matter what they do, there is one side that will be eliminated in this matter, they decided to do the most rational thing and the most viable option out of the options they have, and that is to talk with a human and warn them of the attack.

Elaina is still thinking about something when Shardu approaches the two. Elaina didn’t even notice Shardu’s approach from behind, considering that this cat-like creature is so passive nowadays. In fact, she can even see a bit of fat growing on this cat-like creature.

Before Elaina can react, Shardu, who is currently looking at Gobruk, changes form and becomes the big monster form Shardu uses to intimidate and fight big monsters. The only one who has been absent these past few years was the Goddess of Taming, and even when they have some advancements here and there on the monsters, bees, and other stuff related to cattle, there’s barely any talk about the Goddess of Taming. Even the God of Farming has no idea where she went, which is why her appearance that day was something so sudden; the other gods were also shocked by the development and sudden appearance of the Goddess they thought to have disappeared.

"[Don’t interrupt them, Elaina my dear! Those two needed to talk!]"

The Goddess of Medicine sighed. "[Too real. I thought that she would be more active since Elaina has her formwork more focused on animals and monsters, and here I am substituting for you since you don’t do your job, and you have not even filed any leave of absence for us in advance. If you are leaving, don’t leave us hanging midway and tell us there is a reason you disappeared for a few years this long. At least we can expect something from you if you have dropped even a bit of a hint that you are still alive."

"[Hahaha, sorry about dropping out for quite some time. I had some urgent things to do which involved my job, so I had to disappear, but didn’t expect it would take this long to be honest.]"

For this to go in effect, she has to keep the Almanac open so that it can cast the ability for Elaina to hear the translation. Since Elaina has no magic abilities, the Almanac has to bear the burden of using the ability.

With the Almanac open, she heard the voice of a striking, deep male voice coming from Shardu. Considering that Elaina has not checked Shardu’s real gender, Elaina keeps it neutral most of the time but now that she is sure it was that deep, Elaina is now sure that Shardu is a guy.
