Chapter 320: Certificate of Labyrinth Diving
The damage is big and all of the plants that Elaina has planted on the Dungeon farm are all flattened or trampled during the commotion. Elaina has dealt with the monster fast enough but it wasn’t enough to quell the sadness and anger that she is feeling after seeing the aftermath. All of those plants that she planted are worth a lot if harvested and some of the medicinal plants that she was growing have been included in the damage.
"[It’s alright, Elaina. I will resupply you with the medicinal herb seeds and saplings that were lost during the attack. And remember that one can stand back up from these kinds of tragedies and challenges. It is part of being a farmer, Elaina.]" The God of Farming consoled her seeing that she was not even smiling anymore.
"Thanks in advance, God of Farming, but the damage has been done and it no longer feels the same compared to the previous ones. Those destroyed crops and medicinal herbs are already growing quite well but in the end, they will all be wasted. I am not happy in the slightest with that development."
According to the soldiers, they will limit the entry of the labyrinth for the time being, of course, with the exception of her since they know her role in maintaining the entrance barrier that was forcefully broken by the boss last time. If the barrier was a tad bit stronger or if the adventurer who lured it to the surface never did what he did, then perhaps the situation might have been averted.
"Based on what I have learned, it seems regular monsters can be blocked by the basic barrier. But if a boss decided to break through that barrier, it wouldn’t be a big problem. And although it wasn’t mentioned in the slightest in the notes that the old farmer left, growing on all 4 plots of land might be the key to strengthen the barrier present."
Just as Elaina is thinking on what would help to improve the barrier of the labyrinth, the Goddess of Taming who was not in contact with Elaina for quite some time have once again sent a message.
"[That is one thing, Elaina my dear! However, there is a better option that is most likely a good solution in addition to your problem.]"
Elaina was surprised but she immediately followed a message to her greeting. "Goddess of Taming! It’s been a while! I thought you would be gone for some time! I heard from the God of Farming that many of the gods are currently doing various projects and works at the moment?"
"[Sure do! It’s hard but a necessary thing for us to continue our work. Also, I have seen the conversation with you and the God of Farming just now, perhaps I can help out? I got a few good tips in terms of managing monsters and dungeons to your favor from someone. It will surely help!]"
The God of Farming immediately interjects, having a feeling that he knew who this person she got a tip with. "[Don’t tell me you got this tip from your father again. You know that your father is more of a battle junkie than a big help, right?]"
"[Hey, if it involves monsters and dungeons, Father knows a lot and solutions to those problems are something that he have already encountered before so you can trust that he has experience from it!]"
Elaina never heard who the Goddess of Taming’s father was but she knows that many Gods are families just like how the Goddess of Cooking is the wife of the God of Fire. Of course, they would have children of divinity as well.
"[If you are curious about who she was referring to as her Father, she is talking about the God of Adventure and Discoveries. Back when the Gods were still wandering around the world, he was the one who decided to explore these dungeons and set up the pioneering squad of gods like the God of Cartography, the Goddess of Knowledge, and the Goddess of Magic. Although his tips related to dungeons and monsters are really good, it usually only works if the one who takes the tip is also a battle junkie like him.]"
"[Don’t listen to him, Dear Elaina! Anyone can do it, as long as they are capable enough. And my father might be a battle junkie but that doesn’t mean he is incapable of thinking to those who are not battle junkies! Anyways, his tip in dealing with dungeons and labyrinths that have been having some dungeon breaks or monster breakouts is to clear them out regularly every time they spawn monsters. Dungeons are easy to control since if someone wants to deal with the monsters increase, they just need to slay the boss once and the thing will subside, but for labyrinths like the one you have there, it will need a frequent visit and occasional clearing.]"
"Are labyrinths and dungeons different?" Elaina asked.
"[Yes. Dungeons are regular places with a boss, occasional mini-boss to kill, and monsters with a few hours, days, or months of the interval before those monsters that are slain are respawned as new beings. Labyrinths on the other hand are a much complicated one. They do function like dungeons but unlike the dungeons where they are permanent in structure, a labyrinth changes every time. A team’s dungeon run is different from the other people who will raid at specific times. For example, if one raids the labyrinth today, if they decide to raid again tomorrow, the structure of the previous dungeon they visited yesterday will be different. And because of that, monsters will keep on appearing. To clear a labyrinth and fully stop any upcoming monster breakout, killing the boss and frequent labyrinth raid helps a lot."
Elaina thought about it. Since the very beginning, the labyrinth raid is limited to a limited amount of adventurer’s rank. Due to how the labyrinth is still not ranked in terms of danger, it is still reserved to the adventurers with high ranks and many won’t be raiding the labyrinth for quite some time especially if they are busy with their individual work.
Therefore, Elaina got a good idea on how to solve this problem without the need to ask for any adventurers to deal with their business.
She will deal with the problem all by herself. And what she needed first...is a certificate to begin her labyrinth diving.
