Chapter 321: Start From the Bottom

Elaina has been considering taking a Labyrinth diving pass for quite some time and it wasn’t just a sudden decision she made after the battle with a boss, she was already thinking about it for quite some time.

Ever since the labyrinth was discovered, she wanted to explore the labyrinth and see for herself what challenges she can take and what enemies are ready to fight her. Not only that, but she also wanted to understand why a farm was necessary to form a barrier that would block monsters from escaping.

In short, she wanted to discover the little secret the labyrinth was hiding the whole time. And thankfully, the gods didn’t seem too against her in getting the permit...well aside from the God of Farming who is worried about her safety.

Of course, if the permit is approved, the Goddess of Taming has a few requests that she wants Elaina to fulfill, of course, with rewards by way of compensation for this fetch. And according to the God of Farming, the Goddess of Medicine and Goddess of Cooking does have some missions for her as well if she does get to have permission to descend the labyrinth. The God of Fishing has an optional objective for Elaina, which is to see if the labyrinth has any fishing spots that she can fish on. Thankfully, it was an optional task as there is a huge chance that the labyrinth doesn’t have any fishing spots in the first place but who knows?

Since there were no objections and Julia would not be able to stop her in any way or form, Elaina didn’t waste time and headed to the Adventurer’s guild. She just hoped that both her grandparents would agree with her plan.

...

...

...

The Adventurer’s Guild. Although this building would benefit from being on the main capital where the castle is located, it remained in this town due to its tactical location near the harbor where they can immediately react if there are any problems or attackers that plan to wage war on Darcero Kingdom. Not only that but considering the dungeons are present near the town, it is also much easier for them to respond to any mention of problems related to monsters in dungeons.

Although they are the Adventurer’s Guild, they also deal with various work, land-related issues, and business ownership issues, making them a place not only for adventurers but also regular civilians as well.

This is why the Adventurer’s Guild is considered to be one of the busiest establishments in town.

Entering the place, multiple adventurers currently looking at the quest boards, lounging on the area, and are discussing things with other adventurers and a few civilian people currently processing their inquiries to various employees in their respective areas.

Looking around, Elaina didn’t see any of her grandparents around. Considering that they are always busy, they must be somewhere inside their offices, or perhaps they are currently somewhere around Darcero Kingdom and are currently doing some things.

As she was about to head to the help desk to ask for help related to the labyrinth pass, someone called her from behind.

"Miss Farmer! Hey! It’s been a while!"

Elaina turned her head from the voices and saw the adventurers that she once conversed with not too long ago. The male cleric and his female companions, the defender, the cowboy-looking female gunner, and their swordswoman. Compared to the last time she had seen them, they looked more well-equipped now. Their equipment seems to have improved and is no longer something that she would say to be subpar stuff.

"Oh, its you guys. I never expected to see you guys here," Elaina smiled as she approached the group.

"Haha, we are still thinking of what to do at the moment. The girls are saying that we will do some quests related to monsters while I am suggesting in clearing a dungeon at the moment. It’s hard to be the only guy in the group even though I am the leader," the male cleric scratches his head.

"Still, Miss Farmer! It’s pretty rare for us to see you around here in the Adventurer’s Guild. Do you have some business related inquiry in the guild?" the Defender asked.

"Something like that, yes."

The swordswoman glanced at Elaina’s hip and frowned. "A weapon? Miss Farmer, are you perhaps planning to become an adventurer? And that weapon...that is a peculiar sword you got there."

Elaina glanced at her sword. And just like what the swordswoman had said, her sword is not the other swords most sword-user adventurers use which is why anyone who is versed with swords will find her sword peculiar and different.

"It’s a gift from my grandfather. It is said to be called the Daito."

"Never heard of it, but I do hear a few rumors related to you, Miss Farmer though we are not sure if these rumors were true or not. Considering how outrageous the rumors are, perhaps these rumors are warped.

"Rumors?" Elaina frowned. She didn’t want any bad rumors that were connected to her. After all, her name is connected to her business and things would be really bad if those rumors were very bad.

"Like the recent boss attack earlier that happened in the labyrinth ended early due to your interference and how you cut the monster to pieces. It was odd considering that you are a farmer so we didn’t exactly believe the rumors," the defender explained.

Hearing that the rumors weren’t actually bad, and what actually transpired that time, Elaina sighed in relief.

"Wait, don’t tell us those rumors were actually the real deal?!" the gunner creased her eyebrows.

"Well, what would you do if I said it is indeed a real deal?" the four exclaimed in unison.

"Sure do. And it is also one of the reasons I am here. I wanted to grab a labyrinth diving permit so that I could go and attack those monsters myself. I am sick and tired of monsters ruining the field. It is time for me to counterattack and deal with them."

The four looked at each other before they said their piece.

"Miss Farmer. Just so we are clear. Monsters in the labyrinth are dangerous. They are not like the original monsters that we can fight casually inside the dungeons or the wild ones living in nature. They are enhanced and more dangerous versions of those monsters. Don’t underestimate them just because they are monsters!" The male cleric adviced.

Elaina smiled. "I know which is why I am going to fight back. And I know the dangers of what I am about to do. Don’t worry. I know what I am doing."

"If that is the case, then we will not further say anything. That counter should be the ones that will process your information. She is also the one we got the rumors from so she will understood once you tell her about your circumstances. Still, I suspect you will still start in the bottom right now. Considering you are farmer, they will try to ask you for feats and many things related to it.

"Feats huh? Then you guys don’t need to worry."

She didn’t mind if she starts at the bottom. As long as she got the necessary pass to raid the labyrinth, then everything will be okay.
