Chapter 275: Fairy Works

A week passed by after the incident that happened during the new year. It wasn’t a pleasant memory for the victims but thankfully, it wasn’t a devastating disaster since no one was killed in the process. But considering that the people suffered from one disaster to another just made a sour memory to the people themselves most especially the victims as they were not expecting to be suffering from one more trouble after experiencing one already.

The trial for the perpetrators was going to commence in the next few days and according to the rumors, the perpetrators kept on spouting nonsense like "The emperor will save us from this!" or "This kingdom will suffer the consequences of your actions to us!" and many more that didn’t make sense to many who heard it. Of course, because they are just mere rumors or not. However, one thing is certain: most people have heard their threats.

They don’t care.

And so, despite their ramblings here and there, they were ultimately ignored without even getting any attention that they thought they would receive. Luminiera Kingdom did not even send any envoys to help the perpetrators either and they refuse to talk about these people.

Elaina is one of the people who didn’t care about what happened to the perpetrators who happened to be her parents and right now, she is currently talking to her brother who has returned with his friends who will continue to work on the ancient vehicle that was called the tractor. Since it was postponed during winter, now that it has passed, they are back to work with it again.

"I heard what happened to our parents, Elaina. Are you sure that was the right action to take? I know our parents will demand help from the Luminiera Kingdom and considering that Selena is part of the Luminiera Kingdom’s higher-ups now as she is the new acting Empress of the kingdom, she would surely cause war for our parents. Isn’t that a troubling matter?" Troy is worried.

"I do also think that might happen but that should have happened before a week has passed, brother. But it has already been a week and the next few days would be their public trial. I don’t see any action from the Luminiera Kingdom in any other way right now," Elaina replied.

"We still couldn’t sit still. What if they decided to declare war while our parents were under trial? That is going to be a bad thing."

Elaina shook her head. "If that will happen then we will have to wait and see what they are going to do. We will just get stressed if we keep thinking about them. Alright, just go and head to your work. I can tell that your hands are itching to do some work progress on that tractor."

"Indeed, Elaina! Considering I have a whole season to ponder and think about it, I managed to come up with a few ways to improve and get it running soon. Promise, Elaina. Sooner or later, this bad boy will soon be helping with the farm soon enough."

Elaina only smiled at the enthusiasm of her brother. It’s not like she was not in favor of his enthusiasm whatsoever, but she is not yet sure how the tractor works for the farm in the first place. So she had to wait and see how it works.

After his brother and his friends enter the shed where the tractor is located, Elaina heads to the fountain where the lotus and the fairies live. She was surprised by how effective their ability to hide the whole big fountain from any unsuspecting people and only those who knew their presence could break through the illusion they put up. Considering that she already knew them, Elaina was immune to the effects of the illusion and could still see them freely.

When they were approaching, Pixie was teaching the younger fairies various information that she knew before and making sure the fairies understood them. On the other hand, she saw a few fairies flying around the growing crops on the field and is currently assisting the Feys with their work. Elaina is not sure what they are doing but for some reason, she found them cute while doing the little dance that they do every time they stop on one plant.

When the fairies see Elaina approaching, the fairies immediately fly over to Elaina and flock over her.

"Relax young ones, you will make Boss uncomfortable. Keep your distance," Pixie said with an authoritative tone in her voice.

"I see you became a teacher for the new fairies, Pixie," Elaina glanced around the new fairies that looked sparkly and glittery.

"There’s only so much I can pass on with the seed’s capacity. That is why I decided to instill new information in them and let them learn things that they should learn. It is like regular education humans do to their children as well, except that fairies absorb knowledge faster than regular humans. A few rounds of teaching and they will soon be capable of doing what I have been teaching without any signs of the wrong task being done."

"That’s kind of a bit disturbing..." Elaina shook her head. Sure, it is convenient, but it felt like they were not learning anything in the process and are just taking information from the get-go and imprinting those lessons directly without accomplishing any trial and error. It’s like robot programming but much more simpler.

"I can see why considering I have lived with humans for quite a while now and seeing how humans work, our methods of living and getting information is quite different than humans and even I feel a bit disturbed right now. But it didn’t really matter for the fairies and honestly, these are just basic stuff I am instilling in their brains. They will learn and gain experience like I do, that way, they don’t just become like the old civilization of fairies who went extinct."

Hearing that made Elaina sigh in relief. She thought they were going to continue to become like automated machines, but it seems that Pixie was just doing this to ensure they don’t mess up too much while learning new stuff.

"What about those fairies who are already working on the field? Have they got their knowledge done? And what are they doing? They seemed to be like dancing on top of the crops," Elaina asked, curious about those fairies dancing.

"Yes. They are more advanced and have been working for the past few weeks so they have learned quite a lot. As for why they are dancing, you don’t have to worry too much. They are a blessing dance that allows them to bless each plant they dance on. Treat it like a mini fertilizer or something. It enhances the quality of the harvests once they are ready to be harvested and you will see the differences once you get one in the future."

"And the Harvest Goddess is fine with that? Isn’t this her regular work?" Elaina frowned.

"Yeah. Apparently, it makes her job much more simpler and she doesn’t need to pour too much power now since the fairies are doing the bulk of the job. She is now focusing more on other areas of the kingdom to bless and focus her powers in since your farm is now well taken care of."

Hearing that, Elaina was surprised that is how the Harvest Goddess sees their work. Her perception of the lazy goddess was somehow changed a bit seeing that she is now working with the rest of the land now.

After checking out on the fairies, Elaina left Pixie to do her job as she explored the farm and checked out on the Feys and the work happening. As usual, they are doing the bulk of the work and the only work that Elaina left right now is to check up on the work properly and see how it is going on. Elaina is grateful to the Feys as the burdensome job of the farm are lessened a lot due to their help.

The scope of the field that Elaina has used on the farm is not yet big enough as she is slowly expanding it to the unattended farm plots. But seeing how the work from the regular plots is much lower now, she can now focus on expansion. What’s the point of a huge land if she is not going to use it?

As she was musing on how to start the expansion process, she heard a knock on the gates followed by the voice of Princess Margaux.

"Miss Elaina? Are you there? I am back from the castle."

Elaina immediately opened the door. She made sure the two plants that were acting as defense on the gates did not attack as she opened the gates. Behind the gates are Princess Margaux and Princess Tabatha who seemed pleased from their time in the castle.

"Miss Elaina, I have information to relay on from my father."

Elaina frowned and can take a guess on what this information was. She doesn’t like the sound of it.
