Marigold was injured during the explosion. She had some severe damage to her body due to her being near the explosion of one of the bombs, but she was not in a bad situation that would warrant her death. She can survive, but she will need to stay in bed to recover for quite a while. Elaina’s grandmother will help with her healing session to ensure she gets back up as soon as possible but even with her help, it might take some time for her to fully recover due to her getting caught in the blast the closest. It was even a miracle that she didn’t suffer any missing limbs in the process considering that it can even cause someone to be destroyed to pieces if they are not careful.

However, due to the incident, Douglas, who should have been enjoying the party after cooking the food, had to abstain from it and instead attend to his wife. He might be a man of few words, but it is clear that he loves his wife more than anything else. Everyone understood his reasons and couldn’t blame him for doing so.

Grandpa and Grandma also decided to personally hand over Elaina’s parents to the authorities to get them into the trial. Based on the two’s reactions, it seems that Victor and Maria have already burned the last straw of Rakkan and Liliana’s patience and they have now run out of additional chances.

"Maybe they are going to instill fear in the people so that they can blame all of the incidents as the consequence of accepting the twins?" Julia asked.

The only reason they failed is because we are there in the first place and they weren’t expecting to see Grandpa to be also in this kingdom. Which is why I am so grateful to Grandpa for being here with us. Or else, we might not have any strong backing about the incident and they might have been able to do what they want as a result," Elaina sighed.

"Sis, are you sure you are alright?"

Elaina sighed. Perhaps Julia still thinks that Elaina still holds her parents as family members and them doing something just now just breaks all of her hope but to her, the moment they chased her from Luminiera Kingdom to Darcero Kingdom then proceeded to threaten her if she didn’t come back is already something she would rather not remember.

That day was the last time she would think of them as her parents.

"All children deserve to have parents but some parents do not deserve to have children and my parents should be the prime example of that. Still, I appreciate them for making sure I was born in this world, but not too sure about their way of showing their "love" to me."

Soon, they arrived at the farmhouse. As soon as she entered the farmhouse, the fairies quickly flocked over around Elaina.

"Fairy Godmother is agitated! Please calm down as constant anger can cause permanent wrinkles before you even get old!"

"Fairy Godmother needed to relax. According to the others, today is a special day, right? Then turn that frown upside down!"

The fairies continue to throw quotes that were meant to be inspirational even though they don’t understand the meaning most of the time but Elaina appreciates that.

"The fairies are correct, Sis. It would be a waste to just leave the food that Mr. Douglas cooked without being enjoyed. It might be a bit too late since the New Year has arrived, but it is not yet too late to enjoy the food and lift up our moods," Julia said as she lifted up one of the fried chicken legs on the table."

Elaina smiled. "You are right. There might be a problem that causes damages but no one died and that is already something worth celebrating I must say."

Seeing this, Julia decided to call everyone around the farm.

"Everyone! How about we all party? The food will be wasted if we don’t take a few bites from it!"

So, although the party was not as fun as planned, it allowed everyone to at least enjoy themselves without any restraints. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the food did not go to waste and was enjoyed by everyone. Elaina vowed to herself that the next new year should be a much better celebration than their current one. And she hopes that no more incidents like this will happen ever again.

Then, a black hooded figure arrived on the balcony.

"Good. Now get out of my sight. You are ruining my night."

She shook her head. "Right now, my sister might have been enjoying the result of their foolishness. But just you wait, Sister. I will make sure that you will not expect what will be coming to you. Once I get rid of you completely, Alfred’s attention will no longer drift to you even if you are no longer here. He is mine and mine alone."

A dangerous glint appeared in her eyes as she smiled a sinister smile. One that she usually hides behind that pretty face of hers.
