Chapter 273: Not Fit To Be A Parent
If Maria is not that afraid of her Father in Law’s presence, Victor on the other hand is not sharing that sentiment. Victor knows his father to the very core. He might be kind and strict depending on the situation, but doing something that would upset him would make even the most notorious criminals and monsters kneel in fear. That is how dangerous Rakkan is even to his family especially when one disrupts the public and causes disturbance that would result in public chaos, fear, injuries, and even death.
And considering that they have done what is essentially called terrorism, his Father is bound to be sure that he will not take this event lightly.
"Victor, what are you doing? Why are you frozen in fear there? Don’t tell me you are still afraid of your father even at your age!?" Maria found it incredulous for Victor to still fear Rakkan.
"You don’t understand how fearsome my father is when he is angry. I didn’t expect him to be here in the first place! If I had known that he is currently present in Darcero Kingdom, I wouldn’t be here and doing this stupid stuff!" Victor said as he threw away all of the explosives he had on the ground and left in a hurry.
"Bastard! You are leaving me behind?!"
Rakkan approached the distracted Maria and before she could react, a slap to the face caused her to fall to her knees with her mouth bleeding. She lost a few teeth from that single slap.
"Don’t worry, daughter-in-law. He will reunite with you soon."
In a split second, a thread tied up Elaina’s mother, stopping her movements altogether. Elaina came behind Rakkan as she flicked off the blood on her sword.
"We incapacitated the attackers, Grandpa. Julia has tied up all of them and knocked out those who are still awake. They will not be able to move for a while."
"Good to know. Let’s follow your father then. He hasn’t gone too far."
Elaina nodded and the two set off towards the direction where Victor escaped. Following behind, Julia and Elaina follow closely.
"There. He is about to board the boat to get away from here."
"Let me handle this!" Julia said as she gestured her left hand into a finger gun and a little ball of light shot out from her forefinger straight to Victor who was about to board the boat.
"GAH!"
The ball of light hit his calf squarely and he falls over to the water causing the boat that is no longer anchored to drift far into the water.
"No...no, no, no!" Victor tried to scamper into the water just to get to the boat but Rakkan denied that opportunity by tying his hands and body using the same thread that he used to tie up Maria earlier. Elaina has not seen her grandfather use this ability before but seeing it right now, she can see how he can subdue enemies quickly and track enemies using it. It is just one of the tools that Rakkan uses in his fights and one of the things he developed over the course of his journey around the world.
"No use trying to escape, Victor. Quit struggling."
"No! I won’t accept this! Don’t do this to me, Father!"
Rakkan grabbed Victor on his collar and threw him into the air, causing Elaina’s father to scream in terror. As he is about to fall, Rakkan then delivers an upward punch that hits Victor’s stomach squarely.
"GAHHHH!"
As soon as he was hit by the square in the gut, Rakkan caught the poor guy and put him on his shoulders.
"Are you upset by what I did, Granddaughter?" Rakkan asked.
Elaina shook her head and looked at her unconscious father. "He stopped becoming my father after he tried to kill my son and daughter before they were even born. He might be my blood-related father but not caring for his own grandson and granddaughter just because they are born as twins is a ridiculous thing."
Rakkan shook his head in disappointment and looked at his unconscious son.
"Hah...I have disciplined this son of mine multiple times in the past whenever he does something wrong...but to think he will all throw those teachings out of the way just to believe in some random crap that some shady religion is preaching. I never raised him to be like this."
"Should we look for his other allies? With how he has done something like this, there is a chance that he had a few more around ready to strike," Elaina asked.
Julia shook her head. "Don’t worry Sis, I already made a preemptive scan to see if there are any more hostile around. Can’t be too careful, especially on what happened during their last visit."
"So they only brought a small number of soldiers and then attempted to cause chaos?" Rakkan was surprised.
"If he only did this, then perhaps I have an idea of what they are thinking, Grandpa and I think it makes sense for them."
"Let’s talk about that later, Granddaughter. Let’s bring them together first. They will be explaining their deeds to the whole populace who got injured as a result of those attacks. You are fine with them potentially being beaten by the populace?" Rakkan asked.
"Like I said Grandpa, these people have ceased to be my parents the moment they tried to harm my twins. You can do whatever you think is necessary."
Rakkan nodded and the three returned to the Town Square where the other people who came to rescue the wounded were also gathering and helping the people who were wounded.
Elaina surveyed the surroundings and soon spotted Douglas currently clutching his wife in his arms and laying her down on one of the laid-down stretchers by the medics. She sighed in relief. It seems that Marigold should be safe for now.
Rakkan talked to the people who are investigating the incident and are now asking about the extent of the damage that the two and their soldiers have done to the Town Square. As a way of apologizing for all the incidents, he decided to claim the expenses of everyone who was included in the injured people. After all, one of the people is none other than his own son.
Elaina and Julia waited for Rakkan to finish his discussions with the officials and after they left, Elaina asked Rakkan.
"What is going to happen to the two of them?" Elaina asked while also catching some glimpses of the two who were still unconscious. They might be part of our family Elaina, but they have committed some serious crimes that are not going to be easily forgiven by the emperor. Even I think their actions are quite petty but they think it wasn’t too much of a big deal but since I was here, I decided to vouch that they are indeed the culprits and will soon be judged by the king later on."
If Elaina still has an ounce of love for her family, then perhaps she might be hurt by Rakkan’s decision to hand them over to the Royal Family and let them undergo trial. However, considering their past deeds and their reason for doing this, it is not something that she would even accept either.
"Let them suffer the consequences. Considering their last actions, they are not fit to be called my parents."
