Chapter 268: Power Up!

Elaina was surprised at Julia’s sudden display of power. She was not prepared for it. She is getting worried, seeing that Julia seems to be in pain and screaming while she is enveloped by blue energy all over her body.

"JULIA!"

She is not sure what to do. Unlike mages, Elaina has no idea what to do when something like this happens all of a sudden Elaina couldn’t help but panic seeing the situation and was about to take some drastic measures to save Julia when the spectacle slowly faded and Julia who was currently displaying it slowly stopped from screaming and calmed down as soon as it was over. Seeing that the display was finally done, Elaina quickly rushed to Julia’s side. She slowly stopped emitting a strong energy burst and fell to her knees weakly.

"Julia! Are you alright? Julia! Answer me!" Elaina is still very worried."

"I am alright, Sis... Ugh..." Julia weakly moved her body as she tried to recover from the display of power immediately.

"Don’t rush on moving and you may injure yourself. Let me get you seated down first."

Elaina helped Julia to have a seat on the sofa so that in case she collapse, she would not fall over if she is on the chair and would instead just plop on the sofa in case it happens.

"You alright, Sis?" Elaina asked, still worried that Julia would continue to display the odd power she did earlier.

"I am fine, Sis. It’s just that all of my body aches all over. It felt like I was about to burst. I was expecting a surge of power after consuming it but I never expected that to happen and so I was engulfed by that power instead. Thankfully, my body can handle the surge of power, and the strong mana that is contained inside the Condensed mana orb was immediately absorbed in my body."

"That is good to know, Julia. I am just glad it didn’t turn out the worst. I was about to try and knock you unconscious as I thought it would help out. Thankfully, it seems that was not the case."

"No, don’t do that Sis. If you see me like that again, just leave me be. Knocking me unconscious would instead backfire on me and the energy that was supposed to enter my body would go haywire and it might potentially injure my mana reserves and it might cause irreparable damage to my body in the end."

Hearing Julia’s explanation, Elaina sighed in relief as she didn’t do the deed and might have potentially injured Julia forever if she had decided to do what she thought would be the right answer. Thankfully, she didn’t do it or else, Julia would not forgive her.

"But are you really fine, Julia? Don’t lie to me and tell the truth. You have been screaming earlier, there must be some damage that happened in your body in the process."

Julia smiled weakly at Elaina before she patted Elaina’s shoulder to signify she was fine. "Don’t worry Sis, I am fine. There is indeed a few painful areas in my body but it wasn’t that much of a big thing. A few hours of rest and sleep will allow me to recover from it. It is more like a fatigue so far."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, Sis. Very sure. If I was in a bad state, I would have been begging you to help me by now."

Elaina nodded after ensuring that Julia was indeed not hiding any pain in her body.

"Alright, let’s get you inside your room and have a rest. I will just deliver the food to your doorstep later. Just go and rest instead of working. Recover from that pain you just said."

Julia smiled and nodded. She feels stronger indeed after she consumed the Condensed Mana Orb, but because it was a high concentration of mana, her body was not prepared to consume and regulate such pure mana in one go and if her mind was not strong enough, she would have collapsed and would have a very troublesome problem in the process. Thankfully, she is aware of the problem and before it gets big, Julia keeps her calm and recovers quickly.

"Still Sis, this is too precious to just sell. We don’t know how long you will be obtaining more of that mana orb again so I suggest that we withdraw the plan to sell them and instead keep them for ourselves. We should instead use it for ourselves. And who knows, Sis, maybe you will also get stronger in the process and you will be able to use magic if you use one."

Elaina’s eyes lit up. Although she is fine not being able to use magic if she does get to use it even if just minor, she can utilize it for her everyday life without needing Julia’s help. Minor spells like [Fire], [Water], and [Wind] would be very helpful.

With Elaina’s help, Julia managed to arrive at her room with a bit of difficulty. After the incident, Julia has had a hard time walking for a while. While it is temporary, she will not be able to walk for a bit.

But one thing is certain for Julia. She feels more powerful now. Not only will she be able to make spells stronger, she can even cast more of them now and at a faster rate. Her mana recovery is also faster now and that is a good thing as one of her main problems is that she consumes mana like a vacuum and she can’t recover fast enough.

Not only that but she can also tell that if she consumes another Condensed Mana orb, not only will her spells become stronger, but her physique will also improve. The reason her body is now like this is because it is currently sore. It was like she was experiencing exercise muscle soreness without even exercising.

One thing is certain though, Elaina will need to keep this discovery a secret, or else, those pesky people from the magic society will not just shut up, they may also try to take over and make this discovery for themselves without Elaina’s permission, whether she likes it or not. It might be not a hundred percent that this thing can be replicated again but she has a hunch that it will happen in the future again. Until then, she will have to ensure that she is able to fight back in the future in case those greedy people will try to make their greed take over.
