Chapter 262: Our Fairy Godmother

The lotus is glowing so brightly that Elaina and the Harvest Goddess have to distance themselves from the pond to avoid being blasted by the light rays.

Curaj who was working on the manure over at the Wild Cows saw the bright light and immediately rushes towards them.

"What is going on?" Curaj readies the rake in case something happened.

"Relax, Curaj. It’s not a big deal," Elaina calms Curaj as the three watch over the glowing lotus.

"Wow, I heard that the way fairies are born is considered grand, but I didn’t expect to see any light works like this," the Harvest Goddess chuckled as she witnessed the spectacle.

"You haven’t seen something like this before?" Elaina asked. Since she is a goddess of the land, she thought that she had seen similar instances in the past.

"Nope. The only time I knew about fairies at that time was when I was given notice about their extinction. But now, seeing their rebirth is something that I can say for certain is something weird."

The lotus started to grow big and expanded over at the pond. Not only that but it suddenly grew some vines around it even though lotus plants should not be capable of growing one.

"What in the world? Is that normal?" Elaina frowned as the vines started to crawl around the fountain’s foundation and turn all the rocks around into a greenish color full of moss and the surrounding area of the fountain became a lush area with plants growing around it.

"Hey, don’t ask me, I am not aware of this either!" the Harvest Goddess is also as surprised as Elaina as they witness what is happening.

"Don’t worry boss, Miss Goddess! If anything happens, I will be ready to defend!"

The Harvest Goddess nodded in satisfaction at the enthusiasm of Curaj. "Mmm, satisfactory statement, boy!"

Elaina only shook her head and continued to watch over the situation.

It didn’t take long for the vines to stop growing. Then, a few more lotus plants popped out from the water all of a sudden and Elaina was surprised to see those new lotus plants. After all, she only planted one, and now, multiple of them are already in the little pond.

It didn’t take long before the lotus plant started to grow plants one by one. Even the vines start to grow flowers that should only grow on the Lotus.

As for the main flower of the lotus, it started to grow from its regular size and became big enough that it should be impossible for a regular lotus to even have.

Then, the light started to dissipate but didn’t disappear completely. It instead remained to the main flower and started to get ready to bloom. It was getting big and Elaina and the others could practically see something inside curling up.

"Whoa, is that...?" Curaj was surprised.

"Everything you see here should be a secret, alright?" Elaina put her forefinger in front of her lips.

Curaj nodded vigorously. He obviously won’t tell anyone but he made sure to nod as he didn’t want to lose his job.

It didn’t take long for the flower to be ready to bloom. It is quite similar to the lotus flowers she has found back in the domain of the Goddess of Fertility. The only difference is that the flowers of the lotus before her are smaller in size compared to the flowers in that domain.

"It’s about to bloom. Be quiet people," the Harvest Goddess hushed her voice as the flower slowly opened up and the light inside started to escape once again.

As it slowly opens, the light also escapes from the flower but compared to the earlier flash, it didn’t last too long and only stays a bit before it slowly reveals a figure floating above the open flower. It is a female fairy with a golden hair. Perhaps because the fairy was a newborn, it didn’t have any clothes around her body. But compared to newborn babies, the fairies don’t start as a baby but with a body of similar to a teenage human.

On her back is a pair of lustrous and colorful wings. It’s different from the wings that Pixie had on her back which made her wings pretty unique. Not only that, but it looks like a sign that the fairy before them is a descendant of royalty if ever the fairy race do have fairies with them.

"This...is the birth of the new generation of Pixies that will revive their race," a smile is formed on the Harvest Goddess’s face.

As she said those words, the flowers that were budding out of the vines also opened and every flower housed a new fairy. But this time, they are now different genders. Both are now male and female.

"It has started!?" a tiny voice came from behind their backs. Turning around, it was none other than Pixie who had just woken up from her slumber accompanied by the Fey family.

"Boss! Are they..?" Bam points to the fairies sitting on each flower.

"Yes. They are the new generation of fairies."

Pixie sat on Elaina’s shoulders and her eyes slowly filled with tears as soon as she saw the new fairies.

"This is no longer a dream...Yes! It’s no longer a dream indeed!"

Elaina nodded and patted Pixie with her finger. "Good job. If not for your sacrifice, the seed will not be made and the new fairies will not appear. Due to your efforts, they are now back again. Now that is a job well done, I must say."

It didn’t take long for the new fairies to slowly open their eyes. They looked around their surroundings and soon spotted the people not too far from them. They have basic knowledge of the world. It was the knowledge that Pixie passed down to the seed which will result from the knowledge also passed down to the new and future generations of new fairies.

They started flying over to the new individuals before them and looked up. Based on the knowledge that they have, the identity of the person before them is also recorded and engraved in their minds.

"OUR FAIRY GODMOTHER! Thank you for giving birth to all of us!"

At first, Elaina is smiling...until she notices where the fairies seem to be looking at. She is quite sure the fairies are not looking at Pixie. They were looking at her and now she was confused...until she realized what was happening and frowned. She looked at Pixie in confusion and asked her a question.

"Umm, Pixie, are they calling you the Fairy Godmother?" Elaina asked.

She shook her head. "I am just a regular fairy, Miss Elaina.

The Harvest Goddess then began to laugh which further caused Elaina’s confusion.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Heh, of course, because I never expected to see a human will be treated as a Fairy Godmother. After all, a Fairy Godmother is what the fairies consider as the one who "gave birth" to them.

"A human? Who?" Elaina still didn’t get it and so the Harvest Goddess lightly smacked her.

"Pay attention will you? Who else are the fairy looking at? It’s obvious that the one they call fairy godmother is none other than you!"
