The result of the confrontation ended peacefully. Because the confession of the saintess was heard by many people at that time, their crimes were already nailed on the spot. Although no one really knows that the ultimate end if it proceeded like before would be an eternal winter, Elaina didn’t bother to reveal that matter to the higher-ups. After all, the situation is fully resolved, and without the Ice Lord’s chances of resurrection, the percentage of the eternal winter from returning will be zero.

Still, the punishment that the hero’s party will receive from the King of Darcero Kingdom will be severe since if not for them, the winters of Darcero Kingdom would have been much more normal and would not be something that would make matters like a life and death situation for many.

When the authorities arrived to capture the cause of the trouble at the behest of Duke Darcy, Elaina controlled the vine to remove the bindings from the Saintess who immediately collapsed as she couldn’t handle the severe pain from the tight vine bindings. It wasn’t fatal she didn’t die. After the vine was removed, it retreated into the sky and disappeared. According to the gods, it will disappear since it has served its purpose but it will be summonable again if Elaina supplies the trees with mana stones again. The sanctuary that the trees made will also disappear as well but since it will no longer be necessary, reactivating it won’t be necessary...unless something happens again that will need its aid once more.

After the Saintess and the Hero were captured, the rest of the hero’s party who were preparing to escape after they heard the capture of their comrades were still captured before they could flee from the kingdom. Since they are also accomplices of the event, they will also receive punishment as well.

Duke Darcy is the one who took over and handled the case. He also made sure that Elaina would not be bothered at all after the incident which is what Elaina is grateful for the Duke. Duke Darcy made many arrangements that would allow Elaina to have an easy time, yet claim the rewards for the labor of exposing the wrongdoings of the people who caused the disaster.

But for Elaina, it is enough for her to finally fix the weather and let it return to the regular seasonal temperatures as this alone is a big reward for her.

"Sis, are you sure that the reward is just something you will ignore?" Julia asked after she saw Elaina decline it.

"Yeah. I am rather tired from all of this matter and it has gone on for long enough that I would rather go back home and have a good rest with my babies. I have missed a lot of time for them due to this incident alone."

Julia understood Elaina’s intentions and she also agreed with her sentiments. The winter troubles have gone on for long enough that it felt a bit exhausting for her.

"Let’s just all go home for today. You lot worked hard today. A good rest and a good meal should perk us up later on. What do you say?" Elaina grinned.

"How about we spiced up things up? Wine or beer?"

Hearing this, Elaina grinned. "Since it is cold, a cold shot of beer should work the best with grilled meat, yes?"

Julia couldn’t contain her excitement and hopped over on Shardu’s back and they started running on their way home.

"Let’s race back home, the one who loses will have less portion of meat to eat!" Julia chuckled before bolting with Shardu.

"Hey! No fair! Zaza! Help me with this! One big portion of meat for you if we win this one!"

And with that, the case that involves the Ice Lord has finally come to an end. It might not be that long, but for Elaina, it is something she would rather not experience again in the future.

Back at the Capital center, around the place where Elaina sliced the core of the Ice Lord lies the broken pieces of the core that once caused an almost eternal winter. There are no more people around as many have returned home now that the situation is over. And yet two beings descended from the sky and landed near the core.

A green parrot and a brown falcon. Two similar birds, yet different gods underneath those guises.

"I didn’t know you like to turn into a parrot, God of Farming," the brown falcon chuckled.

"Hey, I am quite sure I have shown myself to like parrots even before. Stop judging my likes anyway, I am not judging you for liking Falcons either so let’s just drop this bantering and focus on our current task instead," the Green Parrot is annoyed but didn’t bother to banter anymore with the brown falcon.

"Fine, fine. You are such a killjoy. We rarely drop here on the surface and yet you are like that. We should even visit Elaina in these forms sometime," the Brown Falcon suggested.

"You know we can’t do that. As much as we are helping Elaina with our instructions and our blessings, we cannot physically contribute or show ourselves in this form. Don’t forget that," the Green Parrot reprimanded the Brown Falcon.

"Fine. You really know how to rain off my parade."

The two birds approached the two split cores and they both took both cores with their talons.

"The core still has lingering power indeed. Looks like it was the right call for us to retrieve the cores before someone else gets here."

"Yes. So hurry up, we needed to return. We can’t just disappoint Elaina again if we mess this up."

The Brown Falcon shook her head and sighed. "You know? You looked like a doting father who is afraid of showing his deeds to his daughter as he is embarrassed to be praised by her."

"Oh, shut up," the green parrot immediately flew into the sky then the brown falcon chuckled before she followed the green parrot and they both disappeared into the sky. No one will know that two gods just descended in a few minutes before disappearing after retrieving an object that was once the cause of the winter disaster that plagued many people for years.

And so, after the events of the confrontation, the afterparty happened and the farmhouse became a little pub for once as everyone began to party and grill meat. Rakkan and Liliana visited after the cleanup and happily contributed to the feast by bringing beverages, specifically, beer.

Dr. Fey was also invited but she declined as she is still going to help the wounded as the saintess is no longer available to heal the remaining wounded people. Since Dr. Fey has only her assistant Maria to help out with the wounded, Troy volunteers to help out as well, causing him to miss out on the celebration but Elaina understands his reason. And besides, it should also help out Troy in his courting plans as well so she didn’t bother to force him.

Elaina also invited Duke Darcy and as much as he wanted to attend as well, he can’t just skip out on the case and leave as he will be needed to be there as the officer who will help out on the investigation and explanations.

The party continued until late at night.

And during that night, one person, or rather, a goddess woke up and got sober much quicker than the others who got drunk. The Harvest Goddess went outside the farmhouse as she looked up at the moon that was shining brightly above the sky.

But then, someone else followed behind her.

"Getting some fresh air?" Elaina asked, clearly sobered up despite the heavy drinking she did earlier.

"Didn’t know you are easily sobered up, Elaina," the Harvest Goddess smiled.

"It’s not that hard to be honest. They said I developed poison resistance during my childhood. As a result, I either have a hard time getting drunk or if I get drunk, I easily sober up."

"Hah, that should be a good thing. You don’t get hangovers if you sober up so fast."

"You could say that."

Seeing everyone was still asleep, the Harvest Goddess smiled before she snapped her fingers.

"What are you doing?" Elaina asked.

"Since my powers have slowly returned to their peak, this should be an early gift to the people of Darcero Kingdom. They have suffered enough, might as well compensate them from the suffering that they have suffered."

She spread her hands on the sky and her mana started spreading on her palms.

"Usually, I only use this power during autumn to help farmers finish their harvesting tasks, but this time, I will activate this as a way of testing the limits of my power for now. Think of it as me flexing my restored power back to its glory."

With a wave in her hands, the green mana in her hands spreads all over the farm, then it continues to spread over to the land. She then shot it straight into the sky which then exploded mid-air, and started spreading in the air like some kind of spore.

"What was that?" Elaina frowned.

"I don’t have a name of this ability of mine but since I keep on using it before with the moon high up in the sky while people are harvesting their crops during summer and autumn, I decided to name this skill, the Harvest Moon. It blesses the land, and allows plants to grow much faster and much healthier than before."

"But isn’t it going to remain winter tomorrow? I can’t plant anything aside from winter crops and it is too late to do that..." Elaina sighed.

"Heh, don’t worry. Tomorrow should be an early spring. I am sure of it."

"How come you are so sure about it?" Elaina is still a bit doubtful.

The Harvest Goddess winked. "Think of it as some sort of a Goddess intuition."
