Chapter 253: Binding Vine Chain [II]

"What is that?" Elaina frowned.

The first one has a similar thing that popped out to it before but it wasn’t as clear as this one. The one on the first tree was like a wire made from mana and it was like it was about to disappear anytime. But the one that appeared on the second tree is a solid thing. Upon closer look, it is a green vine. A sturdy one at that.

Not only that, but it stretches up into the sky and it seems to have joined with the mana wire that the first tree released.

"What was that, Gods?!" Elaina frowned. Although it might be for nothing, she needed to know what those things are. She can’t just keep on following orders without knowing what those things actually do.

"[Those are Binding Vine Chain. It was designed before to capture the Ice Lord and deal with him once all 4 trees are activated. However, because he was dead, this should have no practical effect aside from locating the main proprietor of this incident. The one who is causing this troublesome winter weather to the whole place.]" the God of Farming.

"[Rest assured, dear Elaina that it was a safe thing! We have tested that and you don’t need to worry about a single thing. Instead, use those vines to locate the main source of the problem. With those vines building up their strength, once all 4 vines are done, a big vine will start to ensnare the antagonist, and it’s all up to you people to deal with this troublemaker.]" The Goddess of Taming reassured her.

The Binding Vine Chain is not yet complete which is why it is only staying up in the sky for now. However, what about the time all 4 are activated? Then that must mean the perpetrator of everything will be captured. All is well and good but Elaina is still somewhat worried.

Still, she didn’t waste her time and finished her job there. She supplied the necessary supply of mana stones to the tree, allowing it to charge up its powers to the maximum. As soon as the supply had been fulfilled, it didn’t take long for the same light to be emitted from the trunk, engulfing the surroundings with a bright light.

The floating Snow Men, waiting to attack the group all screamed as they all got disintegrated by the light and soon left a piece of their clothing as the only evidence that they had existed at one point before they were fully obliterated.

Compared to the first one, the light’s coverage is much wider and it obliterated all of the nearby Snow Men in one go and it didn’t even give them a chance to escape.

"Sis! The monsters are gone!" Julia informed Elaina who just finished her second job.

"That is good to know. With how many enemies are currently around, we needed to kill a lot of them but they keep on coming."

"Indeed. And although this is just an assumption, I think the first and second sanctuaries created as a result of your actions have combined into one, creating a bigger area of safety. We should take advantage of this and get the third location activated as well," Duke Darcy said as he reloaded his gun.

"Alright. We need to hurry. Despite the sanctuary being created, a large part of the kingdom remains vulnerable. With the two areas becoming a sanctuary, the monsters that are yet to be killed will now flock over to the areas that have yet to be covered in the tree’s light," Elaina looked at the two and they both nodded.

Everyone took advantage of the peaceful area to get ready. Duke Darcy and Julia replenished their mana first as they would need to carry out a lot of attacks in the next areas.

Duke Darcy looked at the two girls as they mounted on Shardu’s back.

"Ready to fight for your life once we leave these safe area. I bet they have an idea now on why their areas are slowly shrinking and if that is the case, they will start to become more dangerous once we pass there."

Elaina and Julia nodded. They are all prepared to fight.

As soon as the group passed by the sanctuary’s boundaries, they are immediately flocked by Snow Men and they are not just flocking like attacking without much thought. They are now attacking with clear ferocity, firing multiple Ice Spikes to their group.

If they are walking on foot right now, there will be a chance that they will not be able to get out of there until nighttime as the monsters are quick to flock and attack.

"Shardu! Be careful! Watch out for the spikes!"

Shardu’s quick movements allowed them to dodge the ice spikes without problem. As for those spikes that they couldn’t dodge on time, Julia is quick at dealing with them, blasting with her fire magic.

"Leave the spikes that are hard to dodge to me! Focus on moving!" Julia stopped focusing on the monsters and decided to deal with the spikes that are blocking their way.

As for Zaza, because he was a bear, compared to Shardu who are easily dodging them, Zaza is just a walking tank at this point as he just bulldozed the ice spikes like nothing, headbutting them and breaking to pieces.

Thanks to the work of the two beasts, they arrived at the third tree but compared to the other two, the Snow Men are now attacking the tree with Ice Spikes. They have finally got a hold on the main reason for their troubles.

"[Quick Elaina! We are temporarily defending the tree but the barrier won’t last long! Get to work quick!]" the God of Farming ordered frantically.

Elaina nodded and as soon as they stopped, Elaina headed over to the tree and draw her sword.

"Nuisances! Die!"

Quick slices and Elaina dealt with the Snow Men in a quick succession and their cores dropped to the ground. Elaina did not bother to destroy them, she just used this tactic as it is much faster as incapacitating those monsters. Once the sanctuary is built and ready to function, the cores will be part of the things that will disappear once the sanctuary is deployed.

Not wasting any time, she quickly supplied the Mana stones to the tree’s roots and like before, a vine sprouted out of the place and soon shot up into the sky. But this time, a vine also shot itself straight into the city.

"[Elaina, the one who is causing all of this troubles is now identified. The culprit is now resisting!]" the Goddess of Taming warned.

"[The last tree, Elaina! Make sure to activate the tree to subdue the target!]" the Goddess of Medicine quickly urged Elaina.

Hearing everything, Elaina is now ready to face the enemy. She needed to ensure that the one who messes with the weather and the seasons of the world shall be punished.

And Elaina has an appropriate punishment for that person.
