Chaos is already brewing all over Darcero Kingdom, and all the kingdom’s adventurers and soldiers are mobilized to protect the citizens as the attack continues to escalate. It doesn’t help that the weather is also increasing in intensity, making the situation worse for the soldiers and adventurers, who are slowly feeling the intensity slowly but surely the longer they are exposed to the cold weather.

"Please gather in one place, and don’t go out of the barrier unless we tell you it is safe to do so. This is for your own good!" one of the soldiers said as he escorted the rescued people one by one.

The healers and doctors are coordinating together with the help of Dr. Fey who is known to be a healer and a doctor at the same time, commanding the two factions. However, no matter how talented Dr. Fey is in her leadership, she can’t handle the situation while leading two groups who are all occupied with the constant arrival of victims and patients who need healing and rehabilitation.

Right now, she is busy treating a young boy who got frostbite on his left leg.

"Fey, where should I put these boxes?" Troy asked as he entered the room where Dr. Fey was currently conducting the treatment.

"Ah, thanks, Troy. Just put it there on the corner. We will use that later once they are necessary."

"No problem. Ah, by the way, I was informed by one of the healers that the saintess arrived and asked permission for her can take the command of the healers from you."

Dr. Fey was surprised but nodded after hearing it. She is swamped enough in work and she is slowly getting drained of her energy as the work piles up.

"Alright. Tell the saintess that I will relinquish my command to the healers to her. We needed more hands to help with the situation. Her help is going to be a major help."

As Troy put down the boxes in the area where Dr. Fey specified, he noticed the fatigued look on Dr. Fey’s face. The bags in her eyes are darker than before. And he can see that she is struggling with her current situation. Then, he noticed she was about to collapse causing him to dart fast enough to catch her from falling over.

"Hey! You alright, Fey?"

"Ugh... sorry about that, Troy..." Dr. Fey clutches her head a bit.

The patient had a worried look on his face after seeing Dr. Fey almost fall over while doing treatment. "Doctor, don’t worry about me. You should rest for a bit. I can still handle the injury. Don’t push yourself too hard!"

"He is right. You are pushing yourself too much. When did you last rest?"

Dr. Fey shook her head. "I couldn’t as I was too busy and things are pretty hectic with multiple wounded and patients needed some tending, I have to do most of the tasks."

Without hesitation, Troy carried her to the nearest bed and put her down there. He looked at the patient Dr. Fey was treating and he nodded with a smile, consenting to his actions.

"Wait, Troy! I am still in the middle of treating people!"

"No. Go and rest. A doctor who collapsed is just another useless doctor who can’t help others. Have a slight rest that will allow you to recover a bit and that should help. Don’t push yourself too hard just because you need to be responsible for it. Even the others will rest if they are tired, let others take over for a bit, and come back once you are good to go. The others will not be angry if you take some rest."

Dr. Fey sighed and smiled at Troy, hearing his response. "Thanks...but I only needed slight rest. The patients needed me."

Troy nodded in response and gestured at Dr. Fey to never give up. "You can do it. But you need to rest and avoid collapsing again, alright? I will not be there to catch you once you collapse again as I will be busy helping with the evacuation. Take care of yourself now."

"Thanks."

Troy pat Dr. Fey’s shoulders and left to continue his job. As for Dr. Fey, she decided that she indeed needed to have some good rest. Her head is throbbing in pain, perhaps because she has been using heal for quite a while and she is now running low on mana reserves.

"Is it alright if I delay the treatment for a bit?" Dr. Fey asked the patients near her.

"Have a good rest, Doctor! Even though we needed help, the doctor should also have a rest to be able to function properly."

Hearing their voices, she smiled and decided to take a little bit of a nap. This should allow her to rest for quite a bit and recover her mana. With the saintess helping out, she can now rest assured that things will be in a good situation.

A very cold water suddenly splashed Dr. Fey all over causing her to open her eyes and scramble from breathing as she tried to recover from the splash. Doing so caused her to fall from the bed she was lying on just now.

Gasping for air, she looked up at the person who dumped water on her and was shocked to see that the one who dropped water on her was none other than the saintess herself. Her angelic face was now replaced with a face with a condescending look, staring at her that seemed to be disgusted at Dr. Fey.

"S-saintess?" Dr. Fey was speechless at first but then she started to feel the chill in her body. The cold water that was dumped on her amplified all of the cold feeling in her body and she is now shivering.

"You are pathetic of a healer. There are many people needing some help and here you are, sleeping comfortably?! A disgraceful act if I see one."

Dr. Fey couldn’t say a thing as she was now shivering and had to hug her body just to keep herself warm.

The patients that are with Dr. Fey immediately get angry and start to explain the circumstances of Dr. Fey.

"Saintess! Don’t scold her like that! She has been working tirelessly and she needed some rest before she collapsed. We allowed her to go ahead and rest for a bit before she goes back to her tasks!" one of the patients reasoned.

"Oh, is that so?" the saintess smiled and looked at the patient. Her smile was still plastered on her face as she looked at the patient. "Do you think I care about your opinion? And besides, who allowed you to talk? Did I even ask you to talk?"

Afraid of getting mobbed by the followers of the saintess who is just right behind her, he decided to stop and keep quiet.

No one knows the true nature of the saintess as they usually suppress any rumors about her like this instance, and it is also going to happen today.

The saintess runs her finger on the cheek of the patient and slides it around his face. "You know that the thing that I hate the most is someone who meddles with my actions. I really, really, hate them."

Snapping her fingers, the followers of the saintess were about to do something but Dr. Fey quickly goes to defend the patient.

"I-I don’t c-care i-if you a-are the saintess or not...you c-cannot h-harm them!" Dr. Fey blocked the saintess from whatever she was about to do.

The saintess grinned. "I was also going to do something to you after we are done with this man, but I guess you wanted to take all the punishment then? Alright, if you say so."

The saintess was about to do something when all of a sudden, a green vine suddenly shot out from the sky and rapidly went to the saintess. The other people who are following the saintess are quick on the uptake and make barriers to the saintess and try to deflect the incoming vine, only for them to be repelled by it and the barrier they made to protect the saintess completely from any attacks shatter.

Before the saintess can react, the vine coils around her body and tightens to the point that her movements are now stopped. She cannot move anymore no matter how much she struggles.

"What is this?!" she tried to use her magic only to realize that her magic power seemed to have been sealed. Her mana that is overflowing in her body seems to have drowned out after the vine coiled in her body.

She angrily looked at her followers. "What are you idiots doing? Cut this down!"

However, no one was able to do it. As no one else can cut off the vines no matter how sharp the blade is or how hot the fire is. That vine will never snap or burn.

And the thing that caused her this...is none other than the Binding Vine Chain. The vine that is designed to trap a demi-god.
