Chapter 251: To the Trees

Before she can leave, she will have to ask her grandparents for permission. After all, it is dangerous, but she knows that both of them will agree and will be in agreement once she explains everything about the plan to stop the one causing all the mayhem.

"Are you sure about that method? I am not doubting that, but it should be worth going through the forest. With how many monsters are coming out from the forest, we can’t just let you dive headfirst into danger," Grandma Liliana frowned.

"I am quite sure about this and you don’t need to worry. Although I am not too sure if it is really a good way to stop them completely, it should reduce their attacks to a certain extent," Elaina explained. And yes, she is now unsure whether the solution will work. After all, that solution was meant for the original Ice Lord who is now dead and gone.

"Okay, we agree. But you should bring two backups with you that you can trust your back when in trouble. Bring Julia with you as your mage and support and Duke Blackwing for rapid long-range attacks,’ Grandpa Rakkan said and called Duke Darcy over.

Elaina can understand Julia accompanying her, she also plans to go with her anyway as she will struggle a lot if she heads out alone but she was more surprised since she didn’t expect Duke Darcy to be included in the lineup.

"Sir?" Duke Darcy approached them and looked at Grandpa Rakkan.

"I instruct you to help out my granddaughter and escort her to her destination. She has some plan that will allow the attacks of these monsters to stop but she will have to venture to the enemy’s habitat. Protect her until then."

Hearing the command, Duke Darcy nodded and looked at Elaina who also nodded in affirmation. He is happy deep inside that they would be working together in an operation. Although he is considered a Duke, he is still part of the workforce of the guild so even though his rank is very high in the dukedom, he still needs to follow the orders of the higher-ups of the guild; namely Rakkan and Liliana.

Now that Elaina has the permission, Elaina will need some ride to reach the area fast.

"Harvest Goddess! Can you relay this to Shardu for some favor? Shardu will be paid handsomely in return. Also, relay this matter to Princess Margaux and let me borrow Zaza for a bit."

"They are listening alright. Don’t worry, they are ready to help. I will open the barrier a bit for them to go out and assist you," the Harvest Goddess relayed.

"It’s alright Miss Elaina! Zaza is also willing to help out. He will assist you on the job!"

Elaina sighed in relief. She is worried that everything will not go in the right direction without them but thankfully, it seems that both are willing to help out. With how much meat they have in stock for winter, these two will be happy for quite a while with their reward.

The battle continues to become so hectic that Elaina is worried that the end result will be her farm in shambles. But she shook her head. Having a place in shambles is a much better outcome than someone dying as a result.

"Let’s head to our first destination. Julia, Duke Blackwing, are you all ready?"

"I am now ready. I already got the stock from Grandma Liliana to replenish my mana fast," Julia said while revealing the contents of the bag that was handed by Grandma Liliana to her. It is filled with mana potions and health potions inside. All of them are High Type Potions.

"No problems here," Duke Darcy said, without even doing any preparations.

"Are you sure? I mean, bullets are expendable. Don’t you need more supplies of those?" Elaina might not be familiar with how guns properly work, but she does know some of its basic functions.

"Don’t worry. These guns of mine are Mana Pistols. They are designed to take the user’s mana and convert them to ammunition. I don’t need to have a supply of bullets when my gun can make them as long as I have mana in me."

Hearing that, Elaina sighed in relief. They will need a lot of firepower while moving. Knowing how Duke Darcy’s weapons work, she is not worried that Duke Darcy will lose a lot of bullets while they are on their way to the trees. He and Julia will be attacking a lot while they are currently riding Zaza and Shardu for the enemies will still attack moving targets like them.

"Alright. Duke Blackwing, you ride Zaza the bear’s back since he is equipped with rider’s equipment and should not be much different than a horse’s saddle. Julia and I will be riding on Shardu’s back.."

Duke Darcy nodded. Zaza is friendly enough that Duke Darcy is not worried about riding his back. Shardu also adjusted his size as he entered the optimal size for allowing both Julia and Elaina in his back without the fear of dropping them midway.

"Let’s go. Shardu!"

With a command, Shardu started running followed by Zaza behind them. As soon as they are at the entrance, the Snow Men who are about to enter the farm redirect their attention to them and start attacking with ice magic.

"As expected, these monsters are not going to let us have a peaceful ride," Duke Darcy spins his two guns in his forefingers before he starts blasting the monsters with his guns.

Julia also began shooting flames at the Snow Men as well, clearing the way forward.

"There’s a lot of them...looks like an outbreak of them occurred in the forest..." Elaina’s face shows her worried face as she thinks about the situation of the forest and what might happen to the trees.

"[You shouldn’t worry, Elaina. We are currently monitoring their condition and none of the trees are currently in trouble. Just get in there and supply these trees with mana.]" the God of Farming reassured Elaina.

"Alright, if you say so."

Using her Almanac, Elaina followed the route she made before to have an easier time on where they should go. Since the first tree is not that far from the farm, they arrive at their first destination.

Elaina thought the enemies would be numerous even in that area, but it seems that her worries are a bit exaggerated as the numbers are enough for one of them to clear out.

"Alright, watch my back as I finish this work."

She is not sure if this will work, but she hopes that it will. This winter has gone on for long enough. It’s time to progress to its end.
