Chapter 247: Snow Men Assault

Winter is the only horrible season in Darcero Kingdom’s entire history that many people hate stemming from their ancestors to their descendants. Not only that this winter is much more brutal compared to other places, but it is also somehow causing more trouble than it should be.

But that was before. Many still didn’t mind the weather as it is still pretty much manageable and can still be circumvented and getting used for it until the season ends. However, this year is already really bad to the point that the locals are thinking of moving away for the whole duration of the winter season and just coming back once winter is over.

However, this particular year should not have been that different than the previous winters, but now, it seems the winter is escalating in intensity that even those who wish to escape to other places have not been able to leave as stepping outside is enough to freeze most people’s skins and joints. Preventing them from moving further.

As a result, many are just staying at home and doing many other ways to fend off the cold.

And that is also true for Elaina’s household. Not only the original inhabitants of the farmhouse live there, but also the spirits and workers of Elaina on the farm to at least weather the winter until spring arrives again.

Compared to other households though, they are managing winter’s weather a lot better as they are doing quite well with the help of the spells that Julia is casting around the farm. It doesn’t help much in removing the cold completely but it is enough to allow everyone to have an easy time resisting the effects effectively.

Today is the same as before...until the unprecedented trouble that appeared out of nowhere.

"Although I like to be lazy, for once, I feel bored being this lazy. I wanted to do something for once," the Harvest Goddess shook her head as she continued to float around the chimney.

"How about you help us with various chores around the house? They might not be similar to your job as a Harvest Goddess but perhaps this will allow you to get over that boredom?" Julia asked.

The Harvest Goddess coughed after hearing her suggestion. She felt bullets of sweat were currently flowing down her forehead despite the cold weather.

Alessa chuckled. "I am sorry for that, Miss Julia but the goddess is a bit useless in terms of household chores. You might even find more mess if you let her do chores instead of getting them all done."

"Hey, why are you exposing me like that?" the Harvest Goddess is embarrassed after her secret is immediately exposed.

"Haha, it’s fine. It’s not like there is much work to be done around the house anyway. And the babies do not require changing diapers either. You are on your own, finding ways to fend off that boredom," Julia said as she finished buffing everyone.

As they were still enjoying the conversations, a few banging sounds started to disturb everything. It wasn’t on the door, it was like the banging came from the windows and the walls. They are closed due to the weather but the banging is getting stronger and they are happening in numerous areas.

Zaza and Shardu stood up and started baring their fangs over at the door.

"Zaza, Shardu? Something wrong?" Princess Margaux asked as she noticed the two get tensed up.

Using her ability to communicate with the two animals, her face turned grim, and looked at Julia.

"Miss Julia! We are under attack!"

Hearing this, everyone who was staying in the living room but had no fighting capabilities quickly tried to flee upstairs but Princess Margaux stopped them.

"Don’t go upstairs just yet! It is dangerous and everyone should stick together in case things get bad."

Julia nodded after hearing Princess Margaux’s explanation.

"She is right everyone. please remain here but get far from the walls and windows. Preferably, you all should duck under!"

As she said that, the sturdy door exploded to pieces, and a large piece of ice pierced through and struck the nearby cupboards, destroying the bottles stored inside.

"Damn it! How come I didn’t detect anything?!" Julia frowned as she gestured her hand into a finger gun and began to fire multiple small fireballs through the doorway in hopes of hitting whoever was attacking.

"I detect 5 energy readings floating outside! Based on their body formation, they are not humans but monsters! ...! Wait, are they...?" Princess Margaux did not get to finish her words when the window not too far from her broke into splinters as a huge piece of ice immediately entered the house.

The Harvest Goddess became quick though and quickly blocked all the ice using a big leaf that was sturdy enough to block all of the attack.

"These attacks... it is the Snow Men right?"

Princess Margaux nodded as the attacks did not stop.

Covering herself with the barrier she conjured herself, Julia rushed outside as she looked at Princess Margaux.

"Princess, don’t let anyone outside! I will try to deal with all of them for now. I don’t know what is their deal at attacking this place, I will have them eliminated as soon as I can."

"Let me help in this one! I am getting bored anyways!" the Harvest Goddess said as she exited with Julia outside the doorway.

When the two exited, they saw the walls full of icicles that were sticking like they grew over there.

They didn’t get to fully inspect everything as their attention immediately shifted from the icicles to the monsters flying in the air.

"These bastards tried destroying the house? How dare you all do this!" Julia’s arms erupted into flames and her long sleeve jacket’s sleeves and shirt sleeve got burned as a result.

"Oy, just because you f*ckers are monsters doesn’t mean you lot have the right to destroy someone else’s property!"

Waving both of her hands, various vines shot from the ground and quickly ensnared the Snow Men who did not expect the attack. Julia on the other hand, quickly jumped into the air, and with her arms, she locked two necks of the Snow Men and dragged them to the ground before she started bashing them with her flaming hands.

While the chaos is happening, Elaina just arrived at the rear entrance of the farm, only to see her farmhouse littered with various icicles and Snow Men floating outside.
