Chapter 246: F*ck Around and Find Out

Many people knew Rakkan’s temper even during his hero days. He is very easy to offend if someone talks sh*t to him or to his party members and they don’t deserve it. Or perhaps baseless gossip that didn’t hold a candle to their group. Nevertheless, he is called sometimes the "Mad Dog" due to his tendency to become angry with others.

However, no one has actually seen someone like the Saintess Liliana angry before. In fact, she is the one they call, "Mediator" from their group and she is the one who keeps the party peaceful in case things don’t come the party’s way. With her being so kind, no one expected her to be so enranged today that would even shock Rakkan who hadn’t seen Liliana get angry before in his life.

As for the Hero himself, half of his body is stuck on the wall. He is not dead, but he is surely incapacitated as a result.

Everyone in the room was dead silent as they looked at the wake of the attack that Liliana did. It isn’t a particularly strong attack, but if caught off guard, anyone would not be able to defend the cross and be toppled like that as a result.

"We may be old with my husband, but that doesn’t mean we have lost our touch and have gone rusty already. Just because you lot got your game way ahead of us, doesn’t mean we are invalidated. Back in my days, that attack was something that our party would be able to defend even if we were blindfolded. Well, look who is unconscious now?"

The other members of the hero’s party immediately gathered and quickly healed up the unconscious member yet he remained unconscious.

"I am sorry for the disturbance, Your Majesty. We should continue the discussions. The heroes can still listen in even without their main representative hearing all of this. They can just relay it to him once he wakes up," Liliana said without a tinge of sympathy to the one she bonked unconscious.

"Ah, yes. Yes. We should do that."

Duke Darcy who saw everything now understood where Elaina got her behavior. He noted to himself that he should avoid causing any problems to the Saintess if he wanted to live a long and peaceful life in the future.

...

While the wrath of Liliana is currently boiling, Elaina has returned from the mine. Not a single second has passed since she returned to the surface and yet the time remains the same despite her staying inside the mines for how long she has fallen asleep.

"I don’t know how this mine’s time works but I have a more pressing issue at hand."

Elaina looked up at the sky. Snow is falling and the cold wind is falling from the dim clouds that if it isn’t winter, sooner or later, it will suddenly pour a heavy rain. Despite all those little factors...Elaina felt fine and warm.

"This is too strange. Even though it is normal to feel warm after soaking in the hot spring for so long, shouldn’t I feel the cold wind at least? Why does it feel like it is warm all around like it isn’t winter?"

"[Hmm, that’s interesting. That cave does hold various secrets and even these effects are something that I find fascinating. Can you please explain the feeling you are feeling right now?]" the Goddess of Medicine asked.

"Um...nothing special? It’s just warm. It was like I was in a different climate compared to my surroundings. It is kinda weird."

"[Interesting. Based on your vitals and your current status, it seems you have gained some kind of magic buff that allows you to be immune to the weather effects. It lasts for a whole day which means you won’t feel any cold weather for a while until tomorrow hits at the same time as today.]"

"Immune to weather effects?"

"[Indeed. To be more precise, anything that changes your temperature from the normal temperature will be nullified. If it is summer, you won’t feel the heat, but instead, just feel the usual warmth. Not only that, but I think you will also not get sunburned as a result of spending your time under the sun. As for winter, what you are experiencing right now should be one of its effects. The other effect is that you will ignore blizzard and hail’s effects as well, making you immune to that as well.]"

Elaina was flabbergasted. "Well, I’ll be damned. How convenient is that?"

She couldn’t help but chuckle. After all, the situation about the weather is so dire, and yet a good buff like this suddenly appeared out of nowhere. It was like she was specifically blessed with good luck and got rigged to it. It was too good to be true.

"Hey, you gods have something to do with this godly luck? There’s no way this is just a coincidence," Elaina began doubting the gods for this ungodly luck.

"[We may be gods, Elaina. But we don’t control fate and luck. The only reason why you achieved this feat is none other than you have achieved it by yourself. As for us? There is no way we can even alter your luck. We have our specialties and powers and manipulating luck and fate is not part of our abilities.]" The God of Farming steps up to explain things to Elaina.

Scratching her head, Elaina sighed. "Alright, if you guys said so."

She might have suspected the gods from this but she is also quite sure that they have nothing to do with this either because they were also quite surprised. Perhaps everything is due to her luck?

"They do say that luck is a skill," Elaina muttered to herself.

"[So? What are you going to do now? Barely a few minutes have passed by since you exited the mines, you still have plenty of time left here.]" the God of Fishing asked.

"You know what? It doesn’t matter. I will come home. I would rather spend my time with my kids right now rather than stay outside and waste my time here."

Elaina tightened her grip on her bag and trekked her way on the snow, back home.
