Chapter 232: The Ice Lord’s Inevitable Arrival

The Ice Lord.

He was known to be heralded as the one to be holding the title "God of Ice" once he ascended. However, he became a dangerous individual. Even the gods had to intervene and prevent him from achieving godhood to ensure that the world would not plummet and be ruined by his plans so that no one else would benefit but him alone.

He has a project that he wants to happen, and his so-called "magnum opus" is in the making, which he calls the Ice Paradise. However, the gods do not believe it is a paradise as it effectively ended every other season...aside from winter, making the other gods call it "The Eternal Winter".

Many are against it for this is not a favorable thing to any god, even to the gods who will benefit from the eternal winter. After all, a world where only ice exists all over the world is not a paradise, but just a frozen hell. A hell brutal enough to extinguish even the toughest plants and animals, leaving the remaining survivors to survive for themselves.

The Ice Lord keeps on preaching this matter to other gods but it seems that only he seems to see the pros of it, despite all of the cons outweighing everything.

Soon enough, he got impatient and annoyed that the gods were no longer listening to his preachings and started to fight and force the other gods to acknowledge his dreams.

But because he was the one who instigated it despite the other gods denying his proposal properly, all the other gods agreed that he was not someone who should become a god and should be punished for doing so.

Of course, the Ice Lord did not take this matter kindly and fought with all his might and created the Snow Man monsters to become his army. However, despite his capabilities, it is nowhere near enough to deal with the other gods and he is defeated. The gods did not want him to die so they unanimously decided that the Ice Lord must be sealed until he realized what his dreams would do to the world if it is fulfilled.

There is just one problem though...and that is the Ice Lord’s lack of self-reflection. And so, he was sealed without any signs that he would be unsealed in any unprecedented future...or so they thought.

Without the Ice Lord from his seal, that means he is now recovering his power after being sealed for so long.

Elaina read all the information regarding the Ice Lord on the Almanac as the God of Farming is kind enough to give a rundown of what crimes the Ice Lord committed to be sealed.

Currently, her Grandparents and Duke Darcy are now surveying the area after learning about the Snow Man’s attack. Elaina on the other hand has to rest as her hands are and a few parts of her body suffered from frostbite after getting frozen earlier. It can be healed but it is needed with a comfortable and warm area to ensure that the frostbite will heal properly.

The others are also chilling as well with how cold the weather has been. Only Julia and Curaj are busy with their current work, with the former cleaning up the ruined room of Elaina and removing the excess ice particles that have not yet thawed from her spell earlier while the latter is finishing his work on the Wild Cows.

While lying on the couch, Elaina decided to talk and plan out with the Gods on how to deal with the Ice Lord.

"Gods, if I plan to take down and defeat this Ice Lord, will you help me?" Elaina’s opening question greatly startled even the God of Farming who is the calmest out of all of them.

"[Elaina, my dear. Are you out of your mind?! That is suicidal! The Ice Lord is close to being a god. If he ascended, he would become a god himself but even though he didn’t ascend to that state, a human is no match from his abilities alone!]" the God of Farming said, vehemently against Elaina’s plan.

"[I agree with the God of Farming as well, Elaina. You will not be surviving while dealing with the Ice Lord. At this rate, his arrival is inevitable.]" the God of Fishing said.

"I know you gods are going to be against me on this plan, but I am not going to just charge in without a plan. I know the risks, but I want to take the risks if it means I can save my livelihood, and keep my family, especially my son and daughter out of harm’s way. And besides, aren’t you gods the same gods who have sealed him before right? Then perhaps dealing with him for good is possible."

The other two gods are against the notion but not so much as the other two gods.

"[You know, I kinda agree with Elaina on this one. Seeing how the Ice Lord clearly did not reflect at all and has no plans to stop his plan from commencing, that only means that eliminating the Ice Lord is the only way for the peace to return. And while the Ice Lord is still recovering, striking while the iron is hot is the way to go, right?]" the Goddess of Taming said.

"[Hey, I know you like violence but think about the gap of powers the two have for a second!]" the God of Farming reasoned.

"[I know. But we are gods capable of helping Elaina in this one. And eliminating him will be a big win-win for everyone, not just me but also for you.]"

The Goddess of Medicine who was just listening on the side also chimed in and joined the conversation.

"[Although I am also against violence, I think I will side with the Goddess of Taming and this human here as well. The Ice Lord is hard indeed, but that doesn’t mean he will be someone who will be hard to deal with if we help out on this plan and the humans over there execute the plan properly.]"

"[What are you saying?]" the God of Farming frowned.

"[What I am saying is that we guide her to slay the Ice Lord and let her become a Godslayer.]" the Goddess of Medicine declared.

Even Elaina was not prepared when the Goddess of Medicine said that. Although she is not familiar with the term, the name itself is a giveaway.

Godslayer.

A being that slays gods or someone capable of slaying gods. A person that is capable of threatening the life of a god. That is who they are.

And now, the Goddess of Medicine is proposing to make her one to deal with the Ice Lord.

"[You are crazy. I am against burdening Elaina with that responsibility and the danger it will pose to her. Fine, so be it. I will help Elaina on her quest to deal with the Ice Lord but without burdening her with the fate that Godslayers will take on their path. I am here to help Elaina to farm...not to slay gods.]"

Right now, Elaina will not understand just yet what this burden that the God of Farming is currently saying the moment that Godslayers carry the moment they became one, but she will soon understand that meaning in the future. However, that is another topic for another day.
