Chapter 195: Welcome to the World

Everyone is anxious outside. They didn’t even mutter a single word while waiting for the twins’ delivery. They are excited, yet they are also worried so it is a very tense situation and all they can do is pray.

On the other hand, Elaina is already feeling faint as Dr. Fey and Maria continue to help with her delivery. On the other hand, her Grandma is casting healing magic at her and keeping her energized and healthy at all times, Allowing her to continue.

"PUSH!"

Elaina grits her teeth as she exerts her very best effort to deliver her baby and before she knows it, the first one is out. However, before they can celebrate, the second baby starts to move as well which prompts Dr. Fey to leave it to Maria to make the baby take its first breath.

Compared to before, the second one seems to easily move because, after a few attempts of Elaina to push the baby out, the final baby is also delivered safely. Dr. Fey quickly did her magic and as the baby received the first magic to assist breathing, the baby started to cry.

"This one is the boy, and it seems the quiet one is the girl," Dr. Fey said as she looked at the baby that was already wrapped in a towel by Maria who slowly handed the baby to Grandma. Grandma smiled as she held the baby in her arms. It was like the time when she held her baby and her grandkids. Now, she is holding one of her grand-grandchildren.

As for Elaina, she didn’t pass out, however, she is too exhausted to do anything and is just lying on the bed tired. Dr. Fey handed the baby to Maria again to look after Elaina. She gave her some magic to calm down and let her regain her energy quickly. It might not relieve her quickly, but it will reduce her "suffering" a bit.

"Your babies are healthy, Elaina. They are also safe and sound. You can now rest easy."

Hearing that, Elaina sighed in relief. She is still tired but the babies are finally out and she can finally see the gods congratulating her. Of course, she didn’t answer them, but she smiled reading their comments. She is still too tired even after the "energizer" magic that Dr. Fey did to her. It seems the effort to give birth is not easy and now she understood how painful it was for women to give birth and gave a silent salute to those who have more than one child. As for her, she has no idea but probably the twins will be her first and last pregnancy.

Due to the fatigue of the delivery, Elaina fell asleep on the bed, not even able to see both her babies just yet.

As her consciousness fades, she soon realizes that her consciousness is once again transported to the domain where the Goddess of Fertility and Pregnancy is currently stationed. There, babies are currently sleeping on the lotus flowers and the Goddess is currently letting them sleep one by one.

When Elaina is near, the goddess turns around and smiles at her.

"[Congratulations on your successful delivery to the twins, Elaina. Good job on keeping them safe and healthy.]" The Goddess of Fertility lightly clasped her hands as she got closer.

"I just did what I could like any mother would do."

"[No, you did great. And although you have some mishaps here and there, you still did most of those mishaps to protect your babies and I can’t blame you on that one. Not all mothers are good mothers Elaina and you know what I mean since you have an experience from one.]"

Elaina couldn’t deny that and she will not deny it.

"But do you think I can be a good mother to the two kids? I am not an expert in doing so."

The Goddess chuckled at her question. "[That all depends on you. After all, no first-time parents are already experts in their new profession. They only got to develop their traits after several experiences of parenthood. So, everything is all up to you.]"

The two had a little conversation and although Elaina knew that she was just passing her time with her in this domain, she still felt that the Goddess of Fertility became a better mother than her original mother. And as much as she is grateful for her original mother for giving birth to her, other than that, nothing else.

And even though it was just a quick experience, Elaina would rather have her as her mother instead of the one who originally did.

Blinking slowly, Elaina soon opened her eyes and her first feeling was the pain in her groin. It isn’t as bad as before but it does feel painful for a bit. Perhaps because it is her first pregnancy and first time delivering a baby, twice in a single row. Even her pelvic area is a bit bit painful as well and a little bit of movement pangs the pain.

"Careful, Elaina. Don’t move around too much, giving birth is painful so don’t stress your body from doing so."

"Grandma...?"

"I am here," Grandma smiled, then her attention shifted to the baby in her hands.

"Look here, this is your son. He looked like you when you were just born."

As Grandma is showing the baby boy to Elaina proudly, Grandpa is currently beaming with a big smile on his face as he closes the baby in his arms to Elaina.

"Heh, then what about this cute little baby in my arms? She resembles Elaina more as she is a girl. He might resemble Elaina but he is still a boy, he will become masculine like me and will look just like me back when I was still in my prime."

As Elaina saw both babies in the arms of her grandparents, a feeling of affection and longing suddenly engulfed Elaina as she slowly extended her hands. Seeing this silent gesture, the two nodded and put the two babies side by side on Elaina as she held the two.

It is new to her but she doesn’t hate it, instead, she likes it. As soon as she got both babies in her arms, two names slowly popped up in her mind. She didn’t plan their names beforehand and yet, these two names seem to be what they were destined to be named.

"Adelaide and Arthur...these will be their names from now on."

As if responding to her, the two babies lean closer to her at the same time, making her smile.

"Welcome to the world, Adelaide, Arthur. I am so happy to be the mother of you two."
