Chapter 184: Crabpots and Fish Traps

Another day passed by and today is the day Princess Tabatha and Julia will be checking the castle once again and trying to remove the petrification that has been dealt to everyone in the castle. Elaina keeps on reminding the two to be careful on their way there and to avoid detection as much as possible.

As for Princess Margaux, she was left behind on the farm as they couldn’t afford to let the Young Duke do whatever things he wanted to do. Princess Margaux will be vulnerable if she goes with them. So even if she wanted to also go with them, it is just not possible due to the danger.

Julia didn’t forget the cure as well. That cure is their only chance to reverse the petrification that the castle’s people suffered and hope that it will not be the end for them.

"Please take care of my Sister, Master Elaina. I am sorry for being unreasonable at times," Princess Tabatha sighed.

"No worries. There’s no avoiding it, especially for a royal family. I am used to those troubles when I am the empress so I can relate. Anyways, you guys should take care, alright? And come back safe and sound."

The two nodded. Julia smiled and gave her a thumbs-up. "Don’t worry, Sis. I will make sure that the two of us will be successful. Now, I shouldn’t jinx it so I will stop talking about it now."

Elaina nodded and the two made their way out and soon left the farm while wearing a hood and Julia casting [Stealth] on themselves. They didn’t bring any guards as that would become suspicious, especially to the people outside the castle.

Now that both had gone their ways, Elaina started her morning walk around the farm to explore the surroundings and check the farm’s plots and animals. The Fey are in charge of the plants of course, while Curaj is the one who is handling the Wild Cows. He became a quick handler with them and it seems he is more suitable with them than to her doing other on it.

While she is currently busy assessing the area, the God of Fishing suddenly starts to surprise Elaina as he suddenly makes a conversation with Elaina as she is busy with her observations.

"[Elaina, are you busy?]" the God of Fishing asked, popping the chat box in front of her very quickly.

The action of the chat box suddenly jumping forward to the view Elaina’s eyes causes her to jolt in surprise.

"Holy... Oh come on, don’t surprise me like that. I may not have any sickness that would be dangerous when surprised but this is still not a good way to do it," Elaina shook her head, recovering from the prior shock she received.

"[Sorry about that, my bad. I am just excited to reveal to you something that would allow you to catch fish even though you are pregnant. It is something that humans have developed for fishing alone over the years. I figured that this was the way that even someone who doesn’t have a talent in fishing, can still catch fish without any huge problem.]"

Hearing him say that Elaina had a guess and probably she is right about her guess.

"Let me guess, some traps?"

"[Bingo! Many fishermen know how to create crab pots and fish traps to catch fish if they have no access to a rod that can catch fish properly or if they are incapable of fishing entirely. And for you who are not able to catch any fish at the moment, these items are perfect. However...]"

"Let me guess again...FP, yes?"

"[...Yes. I was just about to give you some for free but according to your main god, it seems that you will have to buy it yourself or craft it yourself by buying the blueprint. To be honest, I don’t need the FP myself, but according to him, you can’t just have free things without hard work...so yeah, you get the gist of it.]"

Elaina sighed. Now Elaina knows where the Harvest Goddess got her greediness at times. The God of Farming does have an innate greediness, he just didn’t show it much.

But she doesn’t have much of a problem with purchasing the crab pots and fish traps with FP as she has lots of FP in store. Of course, she was saving up for the sprinkler upgrade blueprint and a few other blueprints she still can’t afford, but if she can continue catching fish using those items, then she can take advantage of it. Besides, these things are capable of catching more than fish and she is excited for it.

"I think it is fine. Having access to the crab pots and fish traps every time I wanted instead of crafting it will be a good quality of life for me. Of course, the blueprint is good as well. You said I can buy it on the ledger right now?"

"[Yes. I put it up on sale and should be available for purchase right now.]"

Elaina nodded and headed to the ledger to find the items the God of Fishing mentioned. As the God of Fishing mentioned, the crab pots and fish traps are put up for sale on the ledger. And both are pretty cheap. Each one costs only 50 FP while the blueprints cost 250, one for the crab pots and one for the fish traps. The blueprint is a bit expensive but she understood why it is expensive. Because these blueprints can make the other two products obsolete, it is natural for them to be expensive.

However, Elaina has no massive FP supply at the moment, she only has a bit she can which leaves her only able to buy the individual traps instead of the blueprint. It seems the God of Farming is also quite an entrepreneur as well for him to coerce the God of Fishing to put these items on sale.

As usual, after the order, the order arrives and is dropped outside the house. Two big boxes are put outside the door, containing both traps carefully wrapped inside so that they won’t be damaged in the slightest. They are big and can catch small and medium fish. It is possible to catch a large fish but if it does, it can only occupy one of the fish traps.

On the other hand, the crab pot she got is similar to the crab pot that she originally saw most of the time floating on the sea and streams. It has an intricate trap inside that will allow the crabs and other small creatures on the sea to crawl in, but cannot crawl back out. And with its size, this can net great yields if placed properly in an area where these creatures reside.

At the moment, she can only head to the stream and put those two gadgets down. As much as she wanted to put the crab pots on the sea, she was afraid someone would steal them or she would forget about them so she decided that the best place to put both was on the stream where she could see them and even if she forgets about it, she can remember it once she looks at the stream.

"Thanks for these traps, God of Fishing. But what thought you got after allowing me to have these?" Elaina asked.

"[To be honest, these traps are part of the progression stuff that I planned before for you to receive once you reach the first milestone of your fishing. However, because it will take some time for that to happen, giving these early will help in progressing the milestone easily.]"

"I see. That’s a huge help indeed. Not only will we passively get resources if we want, but the progress of my catch will also progress quite well. I am looking forward to it."

"[Glad you like it. Anyways, enjoy your new traps and take care always.]"

Elaina nodded and looked at the two traps inside the boxes.

"Alright, let’s set these two babies up to see how effective they are!"

While Elaina is celebrating, the two girls who departed from the farm are now infiltrating the castle. Using the secret passage that Julia used to escape before, they managed to sneak inside without any problems.

"Wow, never thought that there would be a passage for easy entry hiding here on the side," Julia was amazed at it.

"I used these from time to time to escape responsibilities back when I was still young. You can say it is my getaway pass most of the time and no one has discovered these places right now."

"Is it okay for you to share this knowledge with me?" Julia asked.

"Hey, you are trustworthy enough to know the location of this place. And besides, I doubt you would even visit the castle yourself so this knowledge is next to useless for you even in the future."

Julia chuckled. "True that. Anyways, enough chit-chat. Let’s get inside and hope the perpetrator is not present."

What awaits the two inside the castle once they enter the silent place?
