Chapter 185: Young Duke

*Plop*

The water splashed as Elaina dropped the Crab pot into the water with bait already inside. She has experience using this kind of trap before back when she was dropped in the forest. She used this kind of trap but a bit more crude one to catch fish back then so seeing an improved trap made Elaina excited about how it will work this time and how many will be trapped inside.

"I didn’t expect the God of Fishing would be this accommodating to you. Getting this crab pot in advance does not just happen just because you have some special condition. Tell me, did he say something in exchange for this?" the Harvest Goddess asked.

"Hmm, nothing of some sort. Instead, he said that he made these unlocks faster because I can’t fulfill any of his tasks if I can’t fish so at least, with these tools, I can hope to slowly but surely catch a few marine animals that would be stuck on these traps."

"No way...did that guy get a change of heart or something? Anyways, if you get something from those traps you put down there, don’t forget to give me the usual "offering", alright?" the Harvest Goddess grinned her usual grin, showing her greediness in full display.

"Yes, yes. As you wish. You don’t change anyways," Elaina shook her head.

"Hehe, it’s not like I have any other ways to get stuff other than from you and you also have the benefit that you are enjoying especially the fertilizers I have been supplying you every month."

"Well, you do have a point and I won’t argue with that. Anyways, is your place already repaired? After that attack from the Merfolk King, I think that would take some time to be repaired but you have been lazing about again," Elaina noticed.

"Heh, the realm is now restored to its former glory, with an additional boost. Thanks to the situation that happened, I didn’t cheapen the way the realm was built. I didn’t just plaster it with cheap cost materials for me to repair it again. I don’t want to risk another sort of attack like that again," the Harvest Goddess flashed the entrance of her realm and Elaina could see under the water the gleam of golden light shining underneath. It’s much brighter compared to before and Elaina can feel that it is indeed much stronger than what the realm’s entrance had that got destroyed.

"Is she alright after the incident? The mother and daughter, I mean," Elaina asked.

"Ah, you mean Alessa and Mier? Yep. They are still fine inside the realm. They just didn’t want to head out for a while since they were afraid that if they were outside, the Merfolk king and his soldiers would one day terrorize the place again."

"Well, that’s understandable but don’t let her keep staying on your realm, let her go out from time to time even if she is just on the stream. Remaining there will feel more like she is being imprisoned than being protected."

"Yeah, I agree. But you should give her time. It’s not like we can force her to do it immediately. I will convince her slowly."

Elaina nodded. It is the best course of action and she doesn’t disagree with it. After the conversation, Elaina heads off to look around the newly built orchard. The grapes are growing fine and dandy as well. It hasn’t grown full bloom but they are already looking great.

"The grapes are growing as expected, Boss. We are always on the lookout for any insects or any kind of disease that might invade the leaves while it hasn’t grown just yet, so don’t be worried about it!" Ram who was tending the grapes said as soon as she saw Elaina checking up on it.

"Thanks. They are looking fantastic indeed. Keep up the good work."

Hearing the praise, Ram is even more eager to work harder.

Elaina continued to look around the farm and the other plants planted were all growing nicely which is what she expected.

Then, she headed to where she planted the Apple sapling. It would take a while to grow but since it will grow faster than any other apples, Elaina is eager for its changes. Currently, it is already growing tall and although it is far enough to be called a tree, it is already starting to shape into one. It will take a few more days before its full maturity.

Once she got them inspected, Elaina headed to the Fey’s house and checked up on the Pixie.

"Boss, you shouldn’t disturb her. She has been in a trance for a few days, absorbing mana and putting it on the lotus seed for a few days. She only stops to eat and to do her business in the toilet but other than that, she will just remain on cultivating the seed. We should not disturb her at the moment," Poe said.

"Is that so? How many days do you think the cultivation of the seed will end?"

Poe shrugged. "I honestly have no idea. Because this is the first time for me to see the cultivation of a seed happen like this, even I have no idea how long will it happen while she is the only one doing it."

"I see. Then, as long as she is still taking care of herself without making any rash decisions it is all good."

After checking up on Pixie, Elaina went over to Curaj and the Wild Cows. She didn’t disturb Curaj’s work of milking the cows and just mentally took note that it was right. She also looked at the Hencluckles and it seemed they were more lively than ever.

Despite the short number of things she checked out on, it took Elaina almost half a day before she was done. With the field already being big enough for Elaina, it was indeed a good exercise.

The whole little tour finally came to a close and Elaina was about to go back to the farmhouse to prepare for dinner when all of a sudden, Elaina suddenly felt some danger suddenly approaching. It isn’t coming from the gates or anywhere conspicuous like the trees where the stalkers were hiding. Instead, she felt something up in the sky.

All of a sudden, multiple men dressed in black cloaks appeared around Elaina. Elaina readies her sword to defend herself but one of the cloaked people speaks up.

"Don’t worry Miss Elaina, we are the shadow ops employed by the royal family who are currently guarding Princess Margaux at the moment.

"Are we in danger?" Elaina asked.

"In a moment."

As soon as he said that, both Shardu and Zaza appeared side by side with Shardu transforming to the advanced version where Shardu is much bigger than its current size.

"My, my. What a welcome this is, I didn’t know that this puny farm would house my wife."

Elaina frowned as a vein suddenly appeared on her forehead as she heard a mockingly annoying voice of someone mocking her farm.

It came from above so she looked up, and saw a little boy floating from the sky, descending like some sort of levitating hero ready for his entrance.

"The Young Duke! Prepare to defend the Princess and Miss Elaina!" the shadow ops leader shouted as the group immediately formed into formation.

Elaina is not liking it one bit. The young duke.

The moment he started to mock and trash-talk her farm, his reputation with Elaina tanked further to the point that she was no longer saying this guy needed some mercy. However, Elaina decides to hold it off and only readies her sword in the ready.

As for the Young Duke, he looked around and frowned.

"I know that she is here, but where is she?! Where are you hiding her?"

"You better step off of my farm or suffer in my hands. Go, while I am still merciful," Elaina said as she readied her sword.

"Oh wow, someone decided to just threaten ME, THE YOUNG DUKE! AHAHAHAHAHA! This sounds so funny, it is so ridicul-" Before he can continue to laugh, a few strands of his hair fall, and the long ponytail that is hanging behind his head has been cut, causing it to fall off.

"You think I was an easy target because I was pregnant? Even if I don’t usually move right now, dealing with you is not a big problem."

Seeing his hair fall off, and what Elaina did that he didn’t even see, his face suddenly went serious.

"Did you just cut my hair?"

Elaina didn’t answer, instead, she readies her sword and just stood their quietly. Even the Shadow Ops were surprised by the attack that Elaina did earlier. They didn’t see her move an inch and yet, she only held her sword and a few parts of his hair has been cut off.

"I purposely missed that part, Young Duke. Next cut, I won’t be missing anymore. Get off of my property, or you will walk out of here incomplete."
