A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods -
Chapter 181: Little Pharmaceutical Dimension
Chapter 181: Little Pharmaceutical Dimension
The scuffle that is currently happening with the Gods is something that Elaina is currently seeing. And she didn’t expect the Gods would break into a fight just like that. She is not surprised that the Goddess of Medicine would appear as they are currently talking about medicine but what she didn’t expect is the trouble that the former would bring to the others.
As for the God of Farming, she was surprised that the usual calm and composed individual she keeps on talking to every day would become so deadly in words. And based on how speechless the Goddess of Medicine is, most of what the God of Farming said might be all true.
One thing that she has noticed from the Goddess of Medicine is how prideful she is. Just hearing her reasoning just made her unreasonable and she is not surprised at why the other gods would be pissed at her. If someone who is not related to medicine would make healing techniques or ways to cure, she somehow reacts violently to it. It was like she was envious of the successful creation of the medicine or heals that she was supposed to make.
And the words the God of Farming said are one of the things she can agree with. She shouldn’t be angry about the creation of other ways to heal. It might not be related to medicine, but that doesn’t mean her job is done now that those methods exist.
Now, as Elaina read through the conversation that transpired, she noticed that the Goddess of Medicine noticed the experimental fruit because of one of the people she blessed with her power utilizing and using the fruit to create a new item. There is only one person who knows about the fruit’s capabilities and that is none other than Julia.
Elaina then connected the dots and from the looks of it, Julia is one of the Goddess of Medicine’s blessed ones. She didn’t confirm it just yet but everything that points to Julia is more than enough for her to already guess who is the one blessed by the Goddess of Medicine.
At the moment, Julia is discussing things with the princesses as she is still in the middle of creating the cure for the Petrification. It won’t be long, knowing that she had blessings from the Goddess of Medicine, Elaina will be expecting the cure real soon.
However, the quarrel between the two gods will not end very soon. They are still busy throwing words at each other and even she has no idea how to stop it so instead of breaking the fight by saying something, she decides just to let them do their thing and have the other gods who are watching instead do their jobs at stopping them if they go too far. She is not going to interfere and stop them from the quarrel as resolving conflict requires talks.
When Elaina glanced at Julia, it seemed that she had finally finished talking to the two. Julia turned to her and whispered in her ear.
"Sis, I need to talk to you for a bit. I have some important matter to talk with about the cure."
"Alright. But why whisper?"
"There’s something that needs your attention at the moment. Just a little something that I needed your opinion."
...
...
...
Julia led Elaina to her room where on one side of her room was a weird door.
"Come in Sis, this is where I am making the medicine."
"A pocket dimension?" Elaina frowned. She is familiar with it as it is the same concept as the storage bags with big spaces inside. The only difference is that this one has bigger storage that creates a new place that is accessible to people instead of storing items.
"It’s one of my exclusive abilities that I use for keeping all of my stuff and research materials stored. Come inside, Sis. You need to see this."
Julia entered the pocket dimension first. Elaina followed suit and the first thing that Elaina registers in her senses is the strong odor of herbs and medicine. It was like the whole place was doused and soaked for years with different kinds of herbs and potions combined. As such, Elaina has to cover her nose. She is feeling nauseous after smelling it. Perhaps being sensitive in her nose while pregnant also makes it hard for her to adjust to it.
"I apologize for the smell, Sis. I forgot that you are sensitive to strong odors right now. Here, let me help."
Julia then snapped her fingers and a few bubbles popped to Elaina’s face all of a sudden, the strong odor disappeared and Elaina could smell it normally again.
"Did you clear the smell of this room?" Elaina asked.
"No. That is a lot of work to do and it is impossible to remove if I continue to work. What I simply did was suppress your sense of smell to remove the bad odor. Instead, you can only smell nothing at the moment. Your senses will return to normal once you go outside of this pocket dimension."
"I see," Elaina nodded as she looked around the place.
The place is full of books. Something that all relates to magic and magecraft. Among them are some books that contain information about flora and fauna and some apothecary books. Most of them are very advanced and Elaina recognized them as some of the highest-rated books about those topics back when she was still the empress.
"I didn’t know you have these books here. These books should be quite expensive if they are bought on the market."
"Well, I saved money to buy these books while some of these books are quite old and were about to be thrown away by the Royal Library in the Luminiera Kingdom as they are old issues of the book and the new ones are already out and since they don’t need it anymore and it would be a waste to just throw it away just like that, I keep those books that I need. They might be outdated issues but they still contain most of the necessary knowledge that I needed to know."
As Elaina looked around, her eyes soon landed on the table currently filled with multiple glasses full of liquids of various colors and a few leaves that she recognized as some of the herbs that Julia gathered from time to time.
"Here is the one I am telling you, Sis. Instead of a potion, I decided to make it as a cream. A cream that can be used on the skin and can be used for consumption."
Elaina was shocked after Julia said it. "A cream that can be used for consumption?"
"Pretty weird right? But this is how I see it. Because the fruit’s contents are creamy, creating a medicine out of it is much easier. I just needed to mix a few edible ingredients that would enhance the effects of the fruit’s healing capabilities and let them get mixed properly for it to be good enough to be stored for a long time."
She then handed a small round container to Elaina. It looks similar to those containers that are used to contain some cream-based makeup and lotions. Opening the container revealed the cream has solidified enough for it to not spill from the cup, but soft enough for the hands to easily scoop a fingerful amount.
"Is it okay to lick this one?" Elaina asked.
"Yes. I tested and made sure it was safe for anyone to consume or use whether they were pregnant or they were still a kid. It doesn’t taste anything which will help everyone who will potentially use it to not consume it like some ice cream."
Convinced, Elaina pulled a bit of the cream and licked it in her hands. Just like what Julia said, the cream doesn’t have a taste. It was so bland that it felt weird eating something so tasteless. It would have been fine if there were something bitter or salty from the taste but even that is not enough to describe how bland it is.
"I can tell from your face that you are confused and a bit on the icky side after tasting it, Sis," Julia giggled seeing Elaina’s confused face.
"I mean...it feels weird to taste nothing. There was something creamy in my mouth and yet...it had no taste and somehow, I just licked it and yet it tasted nothing that felt more disgusting than tasting something bitter or awful," Elaina then handed back the medicine to Julia.
"Well, seeing your reaction, it seems my method works. If it was delicious, then they should just eat the fruit instead since that one tasted better than the medicine itself. I just made this cream as a way to easily apply the cream without the feeling of the sticky cream that you will get if you use the fruit itself."
Elaina admits that the cream is quite good. However, seeing this result made Elaina further confirm her suspicion.
"Julia, tell me the truth. You are a newly blessed person by the Goddess of Medicine, yes?"
