Chapter 180: The Goddess of Medicine’s Chagrin

ciDespite the God of Farming’s harsh words, it does hold some truth to it. Many gods know the work of all the other individual gods and what they have done to contribute to humans over the past years. Although some have already done what they could and are just watching over the humans to see how they develop their work and to see if they can add more improvements and quality of life to make it more valuable in the eyes of the humans, there are some works indeed that have gone stagnant and seen no progress.

One of them is the work that the Goddess of Medicine does. She is known to make medicines of various caliber that can cure even the hardest diseases ever known to man. However, despite that, she has a limit to all she can make. Despite being the goddess of medicine and apothecary, she has run into a wall of her creation of medicine related to various sicknesses and status ailments.

She keeps saying that the process of making the medicine is simple and yet she has not yet been able to produce any results nor has she managed to craft any medicine that she can pass to her blessed individuals to ensure the medicine idea will be passed through, created and cure the countless problems those sickness and ailments caused.

And yet, she has not created any. Many might wonder why the goddess has not made any. But that is not the best question. Instead of why she has not made any, the correct question should be "Why she can’t make any?"

This problem is so big that every time she saw some gods who were somewhat able to make some medicines that would be used for their blessed ones as a gift from them and never intended to become a real medicine of some sort, she became livid and would start an attack to that god.

As a result of her behavior, many gods do not like her and most would likely back away and mind their own business. For the other gods, it is better to be swamped at work rather than talking to someone like her.

Now, as she confronts the God of Farming, the two gods, Goddess of Taming and God of Fishing all have seen everything unfold and for the first time, they are shocked at how brutal the God of Farming is at his words. He is a calm individual but for once, he became quite brutal with his words that the Goddess of Medicine couldn’t speak.

"[What happened to him? Did he swap personalities with his subordinate, the Harvest Goddess?]" The Goddess of Taming was shocked.

"[I don’t know. But seeing him suddenly say that to her made me feel hyped. Who would have thought that the quiet and workaholic God of Farming would be this brutal in terms of talking to others and giving salt to the wounded part?]" the God of Fishing said as he slowly pulled out some fish chips behind his back.

"[Want some?]" he offered to the Goddess of Taming.

"[Ha! Perfect timing!]"

The two are now having fun watching the scuffle unfold. On the other hand, the God of Farming does not want to back down so easily. After all, what he did is still within his capabilities, it’s just that he added some effects that can be used as medicine. In short, even if he made the fruit, the Goddess of Medicine shouldn’t even be angry at him for creating a fruit like that. It would have been more useful for her to utilize it and allow herself to realize the real cure for these ailments instead of arguing with someone.

"[What can you say? Nail hit the head, right? As much as I am going to let this slide, you have been quite a headache to many. Why would you go angry over the success of the other gods that made something related to medicine? Shouldn’t you be happy that the other gods are using something that you specialize in? And instead of being angry at products that the other gods make that can trivialize the medicines, why would you lash out at the creators about those? If I were in your shoes, I would be happy that someone is doing something that would make your job easier, and also increase the method of producing medicine related to other things which would result in various medicines that are related to you.]"

"[That is stealing!]"

"[Ha...steal? Stealing would be trying to own something that you once owned. As for these things that me and the other gods have done, did we steal your work or something? Perhaps we have borrowed some of your ideas but we never stole anything from you. Heck, that also includes me as I never even think I stole from you. What would I even take from you that is related to the Status Ailment cures? You can’t even make a simple medicine that would cure those stuff, and yet I would steal from you? Damn, ridiculous too much.]"

The Goddess of Medicine grits her teeth. As much as she wanted to refute the words of the God of Farming, he was indeed right. He didn’t steal anything, since she didn’t even make any medicine that can cure any status ailments that are severely hard to cure like Necrosis, Curses, and Petrification. And yet, her pride does not allow it.

"It doesn’t change the matter that you made something that would slander my existence!"

The God of Farming shook his head. "[The fruit that can cure petrification? Ha...I didn’t even let it spread to the world to let everyone know just yet. That fruit still needed a lot of adjustments here and there. So that fruit is something that would not be typically used for anything. You should instead take advantage of this fruit and use this to research some cure that can cure those status ailments properly. Stop your chagrin over something like this. Perhaps you would make a breakthrough just from studying my fruit instead.]"
