Chapter 147: Is Everything Over?

The same day after the trial, the divorce is being carried out. The King and Queen are the ones who helped process the divorce seeing that the Emperor is against the notion of divorcing Elaina. Since they got involved in the process, even if Alfred wanted to try and reject it, the divorce process will continue and he has no say about it, whether he likes it or not.

And even if Alfred does not comply, someone from the mages that the King and Queen employed will force Alfred to perform it as the divorce is forcefully carried out due to the trial results. If he managed to make a convincing lie earlier, forcefully enforcing the divorce might not have been an option but because he immediately gave up and confessed to what he did, it is his fault that he is being forced to sign it.

As for Elaina, she is neither happy nor sad about this situation. She is more relieved that it is now over. As soon as the divorce process papers were signed and submitted, the King and Queen nodded in agreement after the final piece needed to finalize everything.

"And with that, the divorce is now in effect. You two are free to pursue another husband or wife or whatever you want to do afterward. Mrs. Elaina, your last name will also be reverted to Zangrande now that you have cut ties with the Emperor of Luminiera Kingdom. You will no longer need to carry and use the surname Luminiera again unless you return to his side and become his wife once more," the king smiled as she shook Elaina’s hand and she sighed in relief after the incident was over.

"Thank you very much for accepting my plea for the divorce. Now, I can breathe easy knowing that I don’t need to deal with his bullsh*t anymore," Elaina sighed.

"You shouldn’t get too complacent. Just because you already got divorced doesn’t mean that they will stop doing anything else like harassment," the Queen said to Elaina, seemingly reading that this will be not the last thing that will happen related to Elaina.

"Yeah. I know. But still, now that I am free from their clutch, perhaps I can now fully begin anew."

"I heard from my daughter that you are now a farmer of our territory, yes? Then I bid you good luck on your future endeavors, Miss Elaina. And knowing my youngest, she still is not yet going to discuss things with us, so please, take good care of my youngest in our stead, okay? "Thank you," Elaina bowed and left and the two royalties nodded before looking at Alfred who was still looking at Elaina in the distance. Then, the king silently gave orders to the guards.

The King and Queen smiled at each other before they went back to their room, holding hand in hand with each other as Alfred was slowly dragged back to his jail.

Princess Margaux returned with Elaina, Julia, and Dr. Fey as she already got "permission" from both her parents regarding her stay in Elaina’s house. The First Princess and First Prince all send their regards to Princess Margaux and congratulate Elaina on her successful divorce. Although Elaina feels weird that she is being congratulated on her divorce, she still accepts it since it is a positive thing in her life now.

The girls used the carriage and with Princess Margaux’s orders, they returned home with it, allowing them to avoid all of the drama that the people of the capital might do if they saw her in public.

On their way home, Elaina stays quiet throughout the whole journey as it takes a few hours before they arrive at the farm. The others understand Elaina and decide to let her have her peace for a while but in reality, Elaina is currently speaking with the gods.

"Congratulations on a job well done, Dear Elaina! I must say that I didn’t expect you to win in one move. As expected of someone who will become a great farmer and tamer, I can tell that you will be one of the bigshots in this world someday!" the Goddess of Taming even animated her chat box, allowing Elaina to see the animation on her message. Elaina was even confused about how it was moving at first but gave up halfway.

The God of Fishing nodded and gave a thumbs up as well. "Yes. I must say that the way you have confronted your former husband and let him submit to submission is similar to how in fishing, the fisherman will use all of his strength to pull the fish and haul it in. I must say, that not only are you in for greatness, but you are also in for something much greater."

"True. After that escape you did, all you have done is to escape the responsibility as the Empress but you didn’t fully escape it which is why you are still shackled by it. Now that you are divorced and are no longer eligible for that title, then this is the only time you can say that you are now officially free."

For other women, they dreamed of becoming the empress, the wife of the emperor ruling a kingdom, and living a happy life. For most of them, they wished for that kind of life, but for Elaina? She does not want that life and now that she has thrown that title over, Elaina can tell that there is going to be a new kind of trouble brewing over in the Luminiera Kingdom now that the loss of the empress is now official and not just a temporary one.

Elaina will now officially begin her ordinary life. She is not shackled by the responsibility she left behind as an empress. She will pursue the happiness that she can achieve. As for her former title, she wished someone else would take the helm.

"Elaina, do you think you will now be in total peace with the divorce already done?" the God of Farming asked.

"Honestly? I don’t think so. I can already tell that the people of the church will soon try to bother me and my children. As for Alfred himself and the others, I don’t think they will just give up easily. Alfred himself will not just let this go especially since he has been forced to get a divorce in a foreign land. I can tell that this will not end up doing good with the relationship between the Darcero Kingdom and Luminiera Kingdom."

However, all of a sudden, the carriage stopped and he heard a few grunts and noises outside, causing him to immediately raise his guard. He might have no weapon right now but he is ready to fight if necessary.

Soon, the surroundings became quiet. Alfred remained his guard raised as he continued to feel the surroundings and let himself ready even if he had a handcuff. He is not sure what is going on but soon, his question is given an answer as the carriage door opens, and a man wearing a robe and a mask slowly opens the door.

"Your Majesty, the Emperor. We apologize for being late. We are now ready to rescue and remove you from this hellhole, sir."

After realizing who they were, Alfred lowered his guard. No one else is daring enough to do this but he appreciates it.

He nodded to the person who opened the door and the guy swiped his hands to the handcuffs, destroying it in the process.

"Let’s get back to the kingdom." Alfred coldly said as he was soon escorted away from the carriage that was ambushed and hijacked by assassins sent by the Church and the Kingdom of Luminiera to break him out of jail."
