No one can deny the authenticity of the seal that the prosecutor is holding. Even if Alfred’s lawyer tries to object and deny its existence, the seal is the real deal, and seeing it react to Alfred means the letter that Elaina left behind when she left is currently in his possession.

Realizing he had no way out of this, he knelt on the ground and cried as he pleaded for Elaina’s forgiveness. Even Elaina was shocked as she thought that Alfred would do more tricks and try to win the trial using this. Is this even part of his tactics to begin with? Elaina doesn’t know but it doesn’t hurt to be cautious about it.

"Elaina! I am sorry! I will do anything, just please forgive me!" Alfred started to cry on the witness stand and is now kneeling, trying to ask Elaina for forgiveness which caught Elaina off guard.

"What now?" the King was also surprised. No, not just the king, everyone is also shocked, including his lawyer who was astonished by the behavior of his client. He is sure that he could make a rebuttal out of that evidence but before he can even throw his ammunition and counter it, his client starts bawling like a kid being robbed of his toy or candy.

"ORDER! ORDER! What is going on, with the defendant? I want an explanation from the defense immediately!"

"Your Honor... I..." Alfred’s lawyer struggles to find the right words to say to the king.

"Your Honor, the answer to your question is simple, the reason why the defendant is like this is because his lies are exposed and he cannot lie anymore. He felt guilty and is now crying to get my client to forgive him for all he has done. If Your Honor is still doubtful, we can ask the bailiff to retrieve the letter from him and let everyone know the contents of the letter, that way, everyone will know about it," the lawyer Elaina got from Princess Tabatha answered confidently as everyone looked at the Emperor crying. Hearing the suggestion, the king nodded and looked at the Bailiff to conduct the search on the emperor and find the letter.

The bailiff didn’t take too long to find it. On one of his pockets, a letter with the same seal that was currently presented as evidence is present. After taking the letter and presenting it to the king, the King immediately projected the contents of the letter to the public, including the people who were watching outside.

The letter is none other than the letter Elaina left behind that fateful day. The bailiff also broadcasted the letter loudly for everyone to hear for those who can’t read and for those with disabilities who can’t see.

The King shook his head and realized that questioning the man himself was no longer necessary.

"I can see why the Empress would decide to flee from her homeland after knowing her husband cheated. And she has a point. The emperor can justify his reasons for cheating if he wants to, so even if the Empress tries to reason with him, he can just force her to accept it. What I can’t understand about what the defendant is doing is that, why would he cheat? You already have a wonderful wife, to begin with, she already has everything that the girls from different kingdoms wanted to have that even my wife idolizes her and yet you still have the nerve to cheat? This is a ridiculous move, defendant."

The queen nodded in agreement with what the King said. It seems that she is pretty vocal about her idolizing Elaina even if the king is comparing her to Elaina, it seems that she is not offended at all. This shows that for the queen, the perfect example of an empress is how Elaina acted. And being compared to her is something she can understand.

"The way I see it, things are no longer necessary to prolong the trial. Seeing the situation we have right now, I say we end this trial, shall we? Does the defense have any objection to this decision?"

"..." the lawyer can’t say anything and just hung his head low.

"It seems even the defense has given up. The trial will come to a close. Seeing as the defendant lied about his cheating controversy, and finding the actual evidence pointing to it, there’s no need for the trial to be stretched further. As for the request of the former empress to file a divorce, you are now allowed to do so, and we will help you in any way and form to finalize and complete the process for severing ties with your cheating husband. As for the defendant, the court finds him in all accounts...GUILTY!"

Now that the trial concluded, the bailiffs start to escort Alfred who is still crying. They make him stand and he starts crying as he begs for Elaina to talk to him.

The bailiffs tried to shut Alfred but Elaina decided that it was time to face him and confront him face to face.

"Alfred. It isn’t me who is trying to break our family. Shouldn’t the one who should be blamed is none other than yourself? Who cheated between the two of us? That’s you. This series of events wouldn’t even begin if you didn’t cheat in the first place."

"But...but you still love me right? Don’t worry, I will do everything so that you will forgive me. Just please..."
