Ever since the ban on Darcero Kingdom was implemented, the market that usually sends goods to Darcero Kingdom has been losing profits. Although they still cover other kingdoms with their goods, it’s just not the same without their biggest buyer which is the kingdom that banned their goods for one year.

They can realistically recover from this if they decide to choose another way to compensate for the losses that they will incur over this matter and although they blame the leader of the association of the market collective and the Church executives who stirred up trouble there in the first place, they can also not blame the kingdom’s response as that alone is an act of Luminiera Kingdom declaring war to Darcero. They are more thankful that war did not break out as that would instead become a big loss for them. Yes, war does have the opportunity to gain money from creating weapons and supplies for war but that can only last for long compared to the long-term peace.

So what are the people of the market doing while accepting the new rules that are declared and currently in effect? Well, they are currently adapting to the situation and also managed to improvise. And by the word improvise means they found another way to make another market purchase to the Darcero Kingdom without the need to bypass and take the big toll and inspection that the kingdom imposed on them.

Yes, that is right. Smuggling.

Although it is illegal, it is one of the only legitimate ways for someone to get access to the Darcero Kingdom without forcing their way inside and fighting the guards guarding the border and the gates to enter the kingdom. The only problem is that they have to be secretive and operate so secretly that they have to use the forest of Darcero Kingdom to access the place. In short, they have to always pass near Elaina’s farm every time they have to smuggle things.

And to make this project work secretly and continuously, they hired people who are capable of using concealing magic, and detection magic. These two spells are vital to proper navigation to the forest. To make that easier, they also hired navigators who were experts in navigating the Darcero Kingdom’s forest especially since they needed to do this work at night.

And this business is not even done with just the goods that are delivered and bought by the market but also, they have other services that they charge for quite a hefty fee. And that is smuggling people.

No, it is not slavery as the people being smuggled are people who want to enter the kingdom’s border without passing through the gates. They are not holding any people hostage or anything similar, they are just delivering these people to Darcero Kingdom’s border and also offering to smuggle them out as smuggled people don’t have the official license to enter and exit the place. The guards would capture the person who doesn’t have the license while the ban is in place.

This service is popular with people who are rich since the service is quite expensive but many said it is worth it. No one is sure if they have already been spotted by the government and security of Darcero Kingdom or not but the most important thing is that they can continue to provide this service while the ban is still not lifted.

And this service has already reached the ears of none other than the Emperor of Luminiera Kingdom, Alfred Luminiera. This information is something that he earned from paying a private investigator. Ever since he tried to ask for information regarding Elaina’s current situation with some of his men, the message always seemed to be unusual. And he is quite sure most of the reports he got are inaccurate or just a false one. Therefore, he decided to take his masters into his own hands and use the goods smuggling to take an account on this if they do accept ways of smuggling people in and out of Darcero Kingdom.

"So in short, as long as the payment is adequate, then they will do the work?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. They don’t discriminate or prefer people, as long as they can pay for the payment, then they will do what they can to smuggle that person in and out of Darcero Kingdom safely. Of course, what happens inside the kingdom is not their responsibility and they only take responsibility if they are caught in the act of smuggling. Other than that, the smuggled person will be on their own until they decide to return," the informant revealed.

"I see. So even an emperor can be smuggled as long as they are paid with the money that is due."

"Correct. In short, even you can avail of their service as well."

Alfred sighed. "I know this is wrong to condone illegal acts like this and keep it running even when I know this is illegal but what they are doing is something that I might go to avail. I needed to find my wife even if I use the means of doing something illegal to do it."

"Should I attempt contact with the organizers of this act?" the informant asked.

"Yes, please tell them in advance that I will be availing their service and they don’t have to worry about being caught or captured for doing something illegal. For once, I will condone this act and let them be this time as long as they don’t add more fractions and smuggle illegal goods. That is something I won’t condone."

You better have a way to conceal or disguise your face as well as a change of clothes that is not related to the royal family. Alfred sat and sighed as soon as the informant left.
