A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods -
Chapter 131: Shopping for the Kitchen
Chapter 131: Shopping for the Kitchen
With the result of the checkup revealing both genders of the babies, Elaina is now more than excited about the future. She envisioned herself watching over her two kids playing around the farm, happily enjoying the peaceful life. Something that she wanted them to have without the conflict of being involved in the troubles and mire waters of conspiracy and battle for power for the throne.
Not to mention, there is also the big risk of the religion that Elaina is abhorrent in the Luminiera Kingdom that still keeps on haunting her to the point that she is not liking it anymore.
"Elaina, I heard that the Farmhouse was repaired just a few days ago according to Julia when I saw her the other day. Does that mean it is good as new now?"
"Yeah. I have it repaired in fear that it might collapse one day. Thankfully, the one who I contracted the job with is very resourceful at his job that he spectacularly finished it without much problem."
"I see. Then you must be already planning to buy new kitchenware for the kitchen yes? I don’t mind you keep using the portable kitchenware to cook but shouldn’t that be exclusive for the outside use instead of using it for the everyday use?"
"I do plan to buy a few pieces to get started like the stove and the other tools. But since I recently used up my money for the repairs with little to spare, I have to earn money again just to buy a few more pieces."
"No worries. Since I have some money I can share, how about I offer some for you to buy some kitchenware? You can treat it as a gift from me for the proper growth of your babies," Troy smiled, ready to offer the best that he could offer.
"Really? Shouldn’t you be keeping that money safe and sound since that is yours?"
"Don’t worry, this is extra money I can use freely without being guilty of wasting it. I already saved up the money I needed so you don’t need to be concerned about it."
Elaina was a bit hesitant at first but since Troy is already offering and he keeps on insisting about it, well, why not?
"Then, if you are sure about that, then can you help me choose some for myself? As much as I wanted, I would love some input from someone who already knows his way to the kitchen since you live alone."
"Alright. Although I am not that good at the kitchen, I do have some recommendations and I think you should take them as it is not only a good way to save additional expenses, but it is also not that expensive to buy and is easy to maintain and clean. Let’s go to the magic tools shop."
The magic tools shop is the main hub for the items that operate in mana stone are usually being sold. Stoves and the like are usually present here in the magic tools shop and it seems that Troy has already bought something here before as he addresses the people of the store casually. It made Elaina surprised since Troy just started living here and yet he is already quite good at befriending others."
"Hey, good day! You guys busy today?" Troy asked the store clerks.
"Oh, Sir Troy! You are back so soon! What can we do for you?" one of the salesgirls asked as she looked at me with sparkling eyes, ready to serve with us.
"It isn’t for me but for my sister. I wanted to buy her a good stove that runs on a magic stone, similar to what I bought the other day."
"If that is the case, sir, we have them in here. It is quite nice and just like you said, this is the same model as the one you bought the other day," the salesgirl said as she redirected the eyes of the two to the stove that they were talking about.
Elaina inspected the stove. Not only does it look fancy and expensive, but it seems to be the same stove that is used in the royal palace of Luminiera Kingdom since Elaina has used it once before.
"Isn’t this quite expensive, Brother?"
"Haha, no worries about the cost. You shouldn’t be bothered too much since this is quite nice to use and I guess you have used this model before so you don’t have to fumble around when using it. And besides, money is not a problem."
"Are you sure? I don’t want to deprive my brother of losing all his money for this. I am fine with a cheap one," Elaina insisted.
"No, no. This should be fine. Miss, please take it to the counter. We will be looking for new stuff to buy as well so just hold it off until we are done, okay?"
The salesgirl nodded and started to order a few of the men to carry the stove that was offered and carry it to the counter for payment. As for the two, they moved on to the kitchen tools and some frying pans.
"I think you needed extra pans and pots, Elaina. Using the old ones you have is fine but it is already so old it needed some good replacements already, don’t you think?" Troy suggested as he pulled one of the frying pans in the stack.
"You think so? I think it is still very useful and still serves its main purpose though?" Elaina tilted her head.
"Ugh, this is the problem, Elaina. You are too thrifty for your good. I know that it is still very useful, but let your tools rest and have them get the proper rest they deserve after being used. No matter how well they are still doing, if they are already showing signs of their eventual end of life, no matter how much you try to prolong it, the end is inevitable. There is no harm done for buying new things like the frying pans and pots."
Elaina wanted to argue again but the fact that Troy already sent the said tools without her input, Julia could see that Troy is already aware that she was about to just look for the cheapest one instead of the ones with quality. So it is his time to step in, even if it is to the displeasure of herself.
