Chapter 130: First Movement

It has been a week since the renovation of the house has concluded. The two girls ended up taking the two vacant rooms on the second floor. They also clean up the junk that is inside there and throw away the trash. As for the junk that looked like it might still have some uses, Julia kept them inside one of the rooms that were not cleaned up and used the place as a temporary storage room.

The girls have transformed the rooms to their respective styles themselves and Elaina can see why they are eager to have new rooms themselves. Elaina also gave them money to buy themselves some new beds. The old beds were too old and rickety to be used as a proper bed and the bedding was a mess and dangerous to lie down on so a new bed is warranted.

In the end, both girls ended up being happy with the result. Although Julia still sleeps with Elaina during the evening, Julia sleeps in her room during siesta time or whenever she feels like it. As for Princess Margaux, although she plans for Zaza to sleep inside her room, it turns out Zaza’s size is too big for him to fit into the doorway so he is forced to remain in the living room to sleep. It seems that it is not a big problem though as Zaza seems to be more fond near the fireplace.

But that is not the story for the day. At the moment, Elaina is currently waiting in line with a few patients inside the clinic of Dr. Fey with her brother, Troy, accompanying her for her regular check-up.

"Looks like Doc Fey is currently busy with her job. Seeing all these patients means that many people are getting rushed here," Elaina said as she looked at the patients lined up.

"From the looks of it, it seems they have collapsed from the heat. With how hot the weather so far outside, it is not irregular for people to just collapse as a result," Troy nodded.

"Are you fine with the heat, Brother?" Elaina asked in concern.

"Haha, this heat is very minor compared to the heat I usually experience daily at work. You can say that the current heat is just a minor thing for me," Troy grinned as if he was proud of his adaptation to the heat.

"Well, I think you are just built differently," Elaina looks unimpressed, "After all, I can also handle it well just fine."

While the two are about to start a sibling banter for a minor thing, Maria calls Elaina’s name, halting their banter from happening.

"Miss Elaina? Dr. Fey is now waiting for you in the room."

"Oh, looks like it is your turn. Come on," Troy is more excited to go to the room than Elaina who is the patient. Elaina already noticed the strange behavior of Troy for a while but she still has no clue what he is doing so she can’t comment on it at all.

Entering the room, Dr. Fey is currently organizing the medicine bottles on the shelf.

"Morning, Doctor," Elaina greeted.

"Good morning, Fey," Troy casually greeted which surprised Elaina since he didn’t even use any honorifics and even called Dr. Fey in her name.

"Morning Miss Elaina, Good morning to you as well, Troy. It seems you are the one accompanying your sister, today?" Dr. Fey smiled and casually greeted Troy back like nothing.

"Hey, of course I am. Since I am her brother and live near the clinic, you can say that it is also my responsibility to take care of my sister’s health and baby knowing that I might have two nieces or nephews in the future. Who would have thought that Elaina would be pregnant with twins?"

"Yeah. It is pretty rare to have twins, it isn’t unlikely to be pregnant with twins. One factor increasing the chance of being pregnant with twins is the common belief that it is a hereditary trait that runs in the family of one or both family of parents. But there is nothing wrong with bearing twins in pregnancy, so be proud to bear two kids in one pregnancy, Miss Elaina," Dr. Fey said.

"Hope that it goes smoothly though. I feel nervous," Elaina said as she rubbed her growing belly.

"That’s pretty normal especially since this is your first pregnancy. Don’t be afraid, we will assist you in any way we can to make sure you deliver both babies safely."

Elaina smiled although she still felt a bit nervous. As Elaina continued to rub her belly, she then suddenly felt some movements on her belly. It was like something was bumping on her belly but it was happening inside.

"Wait, wait, is this how it feels when the babies move in the belly?" Elaina asked as she continued to feel the movements happening inside.

"Eh? Let me feel a bit?" Troy immediately tried asking for permission which Elaina granted as she guided Troy to touch the areas where she felt the movement.

"Hmmm... I don’t think I...wait, I do feel it," Troy at first thought he didn’t feel it but after a while, he noticed the movements and his face looked bright as he felt the bumps being done by the babies inside.

"They are moving indeed!" Troy is very happy to experience that despite not being the father.

"Haha, look at you being so happy, what kind of face will you even make if it is your kid?" Elaina grinned at Troy’s face looking like an idiot with a big smile on his face.

"Me with my kids? I would be the happiest guy alive by then!" Troy proudly said it without feeling embarrassed.

Elaina is not sure if it was her imagination or not but she thinks she saw Dr. Fey’s mouth smile as she heard Troy’s outburst but she is not sure as she immediately became professional and gave her input to what was happening.

"This is the first time you feel the movements of the kids, yes?" Dr. Fey asked.

"Yes, doc. I was surprised at that since I didn’t know it could happen so suddenly.

"That means your babies are developing just fine and are growing normally. That alone is a sign that they are closing into maturity. It will only grow intense especially once you reach your final month of pregnancy so expect this to be a regular occurrence from now on."

Dr. Fey then cast scanning magic and projection magic to reveal the current events happening inside Elaina’s belly in real-time.

"Look, it seems they are growing nicely. They are getting enough nutrients they needed to grow healthy as well."

"Can you determine the gender of both kids?" Troy asked.

"Yeah, wait a minute. I will adjust it a bit so that we can determine it," Dr. Fey nodded before she slowly adjusted her hand’s position to properly see what is happening inside.

Then after a while, Dr. Fey soon determined both genders of both babies after a thorough examination.

"Congratulations, Miss Elaina. It seems you are bearing a fraternal twins. They are boy and girl."

"Boy and girl! Wow, I will soon have a niece and a nephew! I will become the greatest uncle ever that they will not even think about looking for their father ever again."

Elaina was also very happy after hearing the result. Both boy and girl are a very welcome balance for Elaina.

"Please take care of them, Miss Elaina. Starting today, you should lessen getting too worked up on your work. It is not a good thing for the babies. Although you can still do some work, please make sure you are doing light works instead of those heavy works that need a lot of effort to carry out."

"Is my pregnancy sensitive?" Elaina asked.

"No. Although it is not sensitive that it is necessary for careful consideration, being safe than sorry is much better than not following it at all," Doctor Fey suggested.

"I see. Thanks for the input."

"Since you are looking good, I will not prescript you to take any medicine and just continue eating a healthy and nutritious balanced diet. It won’t take long before you get to feel your food intake will increase. Although this is normal, I still wanted to let you know that it will soon give you a chance to become fat. Be prepared to have a good diet that is enough for your kids to receive enough nutrients."

"I know but I am not worried. I might get temporarily fat but I will make sure to live healthily for my babies. But thanks for the advice Doc,I appreciate it"

Doc Fey smiled. "Just doing what I do best."

After the checkup, Elaina and Troy bid farewell and left the room. Elaina can still feel both the Doctor’s and Troy’s eyes seems to be locked in together several times. Elaina is slowly filling in the puzzle but she has to full piece them together for her to fully confront Troy about it. Other than that, Elaina is happy for her brother for he is finally opening his heart once more.
