Mastapeeecee. There's very few novels which stick with you over the years. It isnt enough to just be good. Something else is needed. Perhaps... what you'd call a soul.
A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation is the perfect blend of chinese worldbuilding, and Korean characterization, combining the strengths of both without being bogged down in their respective weaknesses. The main character's voice literally sings. You can pick any of his lines, drop it out of context, surround it with other flavour text and you'll still instantly know who said it. Its that strong.
Most of all though, unlike.... certain other cultivation stories, there are no emotionless mcs going on a genocide because some young master trash talked them for a second. The story is always human at its core and that never changes. No matter how high the realm the mc reaches.
Quite honestly good if you have patience which some people don't I recommend it. I hope you have a nice read and remember Kim Hyung is the goat
The urge to drop it down to 4.9 is looking me in the eye but I must resist. Anyways, I really love the cultivation, the world, building, characters like Kim young hoon and seo hweol all of them except the female ones (the author struggles in writing them alot but they are not really terrible, but compared to the male characters, they are definitely lacking substance, although best girl Gyu Ryeon is an exception she can step on me anytime). I also love the abilities especially heart path, the heaven collapsing esteemed ones signature move is badass but one thing which I hate is the mc's morality as it's annoying asf so much that I will drop a star cuz of it but besides that the mc is pretty well written. So overall you should give a chance and keep in mind not to be scared by the chapter length, you must perservere for at least 36 chapters as it gets really good after that and contain less info dump.
It's just so peak. I love that the MC is quite human through the book even once he reaches immortality, 10/10 worldbuilding, it has insane foreshadowing(the sun and the moon if yk what im saying), for me it is in my top 5/6 novels Ive read so far
Just peak 🔥, power system 10/10 like it has both martial arts cultivation, it doesn't even lose to a Physiological novel, mc has a peak mentality, and time to time references from Buddhism is just awesome, naming sense is also good
I enjoy this novel I keep 5 star rating so no one gets mad. Only bad part is mc has too much special moves and it's hard to remember and there's many books or cultivation that his Kim Young-hoon left behind but I hope MC becomes most op and I like the regressions, him and Young-hoon getting stronger and im on chapter 35 but I hate the other workers they got a free start to cultivation and becoming op while Seo-Eun-Hyun and Kim Young-hoon have to work so hard for there power. The story doesn't hold back it's beautiful, they learn and grow and it can be dark when mc teaches the kids he beheaded in his last life and he regressed for the sixth time he remembers them but says he can't teach them again which made me feel a bit sad but I love the story can't wait to see it get a manhwa a top tier webnovel that I've read.
I could very confidently place this novel amongst the best like Ri and LOTM. Definitely deserves a 5 star.
Some might find the start a little boring...and to that all I would like to say is, trust the process, trust our goat tremendous (author) and trust our glorious king seo eun-hyun (mc)
Don't know what to say except for the fact that you should read this. I am just here to give a 5 star rating. So yeah. That's my review. Why hasn't it hit 140 letters mark yet? Also yes this was copy pasted
This novel is one of the best among the infinite regression genre the start might be slow paced and somewhat boring for some people but after some chapter you will love it!, first of all the MC's character development is very good he really matured a lot learning from every mistake, it also showed a regressors pain. How every regression makes each and every connection he made dissapears and how he slowly move on and how he steadily gets stronger each regression, it's not your typical cultivation novel where the mc is extremely lucky or has an op physique mc is extremely talentless and thats what makes this novel very interesting(especially if ur like me who reads too much op/lucky mc to the point that it gives brainrot) the characters are also very well written there are many unique characters with different personalities that you will surely love, the romance is also good(although it lacks compared to novels that has romance has their main genre) and lastly the chapters are very very chunky, like there are so much stuff happening in each chapter, overall it's a very good novel very much deserving of a 5 star rating
