A Love Reborn: Finding Romance Twice In One Lifetime
Chapter 326 - 319: A LOVE REBORN

Chapter 326: Chapter 319: A LOVE REBORN

Life is full of ups and downs.

It gives you something expected and unexpected in one bundle.

Some say it’s fair, whilst others shed tears about how unfair it is. But what is what, really?

That is a question that bothers people a lot, and yet the answer doesn’t seem to be at anyone’s fingertips.

It’s been a week since she returned home and reunited with her babies.

Calista realized the moment she reunited with the children, just how much she loved them and how foolish she was to leave them just for the sake of vengeance.

Looking at the two who were babbling nonsense while kicking their legs and waving their chubby hands, Calista was full of maternal love. It kept on oozing.

Just for the sake of hurting herself and reopening wounds, which she could have ignored if she wasn’t that charmed by Orson, she left her children with strangers.

These mammies hadn’t been with her for a very long time and yet for revenge, she left her precious children with them. Was her brain flooded with water which made her take such a decision?

When she thought about all the reckless things she nearly committed when she was outside, Calista tickled her children with love, relieved that she was pulled back out of that darkness.

If she had committed such deadly sins and had blood on her hands, would she look at her children with the same eyes?

However, disregarding everything that had happened in the past two weeks or so, she was still grateful that she had done it. If she hadn’t, she would still be doubting life. What life was really like and so forth?

If it wasn’t for her impulsiveness, she wouldn’t have learnt a lot of hidden truths. Thanks to that matter, she now knows who her mother is, and that she wasn’t truly born to be a slave. Knowing that piece of news helped her greatly, as she had always looked down on herself most of the time.

The fact that she grew up a slave didn’t go away from her just because she became rich. Now and then, she would see herself as one, and that stopped her from progressing.

However, now, she was more at ease and more confident. It wasn’t in her blood to be a slave. Her mother should be a noble. Although she would never know where she was from and who she was, what she saw was enough for her.

At the same time, what she was truly grateful for was knowing Orson’s thoughts. If she hadn’t gone on that trip, she would still be confused and her feelings for Orson would be playing tug of war with her.

He would be dangling a carrot in front of her, teasing her and making her the most foolish person ever.

Thankfully, because of that matter, she saw his true face and now she wouldn’t be bothered by him at all.

Last but not least, knowing the identity of the system that gave her a new lease on life was the most shocking thing she came across.

To think that she used to hate the sorceress who kept on sending people to her who stayed and left once they got what they wanted. And then found out recently that it was her savior playing such games on her, and she was still at a loss.

However, when she thought about everything that the sorceress did for her, she no longer had the energy to bother asking why she did it in the first place. Why ask a deity such nonsensical questions? She might as well accept whatever was in front of her.

Lastly, there was the deal that she had made, which she and the sorceress hadn’t yet made the terms and conditions. But she looked forward to whatever madness she would bring when the time came.

However, before that time came, she was going to raise her bundles of joy with everything that she had. She was going to shower them with her love, care, and attention and raise them into responsible human beings and not like the Thomas’s children who were crooked.

She might not be the best person out there, but she would do her best in every capacity to make sure that everything goes well.

She didn’t want to become the next Thomas family or any other family out there who met their downfalls because they didn’t teach their younger generations well.

As she dangled the rattle drum, shaking it and watching as the kids playfully followed it while giggling, another question sprang into her mind as she summarized her life.

What is love?

She used to believe that love was that feeling one feels when he or she has a partner. The kind of emotions that only a partner or lover makes you feel.

Because of that misconception, when she got a new lease on life, she sought that kind of love. Finding a man she loves, living with him and having a family with him, was the kind of love she expected and wanted.

When the first love ended with the death of the other, it devasted her and for a few years; she thought that she couldn’t live with love. As a result, she lived mechanically and dully until she met Orson.

With Orson by her side, she felt for the second time that life would indeed go well. As long as he was with her, anything was possible. As a result, she opened the factory and started showing her good qualities and all that was because she finally had a man in her life.

However, all that changed when things got messy, secrets got out and it led to the previous events where all ties were cut.

When she returned home and reunited with her babies and saw how less chubby, they had become. It might be the stress of not being with her. After all, they were used to having her by their side all the time. And yet she was no longer there.

When she saw her children and felt the immense love that just burst within her without even forcing it, some things became very clear to her.

Love didn’t necessarily mean that of a lover or a partner, but it represented the kind of affection one feels for someone or others.

She loves her children so much, her friends, the villagers and those she was very close to. And some of them love her so much in return.

With so much love surrounding her, why did she waste her time chasing the kind of love that brought so much pain and heartache despite giving her the two treasures that she would always be eternally grateful for?

As she sang a lullaby for the babies as they started drowsing, Calista couldn’t help but think of how much she was a fool in the past.

She had always believed that she was fortunate in this lifetime. Being able to find romance twice in one lifetime. That was something that most people wouldn’t even dream about.

However, as she watched the babies sleeping soundly on their bellies moments later, a smile blossomed on her face as she accepted one true fact about everything that transpired in her life.

While she might have had some bad luck when it comes to romance in this lifetime, she at least got her love reborn in ways she couldn’t have imagined, even when she was doing missions in those worlds.

"Good day, Lady Solace!"

"You look radiant!"

"How are the kids?"

As she stood in front of the manor gate sometime later, she chatted with the villagers as she smiled freely.

’This kind of love was all worth it no matter which kind it was!’ she happily thought.

She didn’t know what the future holds and whether there would be obstacles waiting for her ahead. But just like she had been doing from day one, she was going to take one step at a time.

Whatever shall come, she will face it when it comes, but for now, she was going to enjoy this love as much as she could.

After all, life was still full of ups and downs.

Who knows when her downs would visit her again?
