Chapter 327: EXTRA 1: HALONA SOLACE

My name is Halona Solace, the eldest daughter of Calista Solace, the most beautiful and intelligent woman I have seen apart from myself.

I was born in a small village called Cropville village. It was the kind of place those living in cities liked to call backward places, but I don’t really remember it being that way. From the day I started knowing what this or that was, that place was the most beautiful.

There were a lot of people coming and leaving our village on a daily basis and all of them seemed to know my mother.

I don’t know who my father was and I don’t really care, to be honest. Since my mother never talked about him, it meant that he wasn’t good for her.

He should be a complete scumbag like what my mother loved calling all irresponsible people whenever she heard about them or saw some.

Since she had never talked about him, me and my brother Ayaan never talked about him as well.

Anyway, setting aside that matter, my mother only had the two of us in her life and she gave us the best.

Growing up in that special village where she changed everyone’s life made me and my twin brother very privileged and at times it made us get too much over our heads. As a result, we would always suffer when we got home.

We grew up rich and we didn’t lack servants, money and many other things. But mother was a very strict person. It made others wonder why she was like that.

Whenever we went overboard, Mother would punish us severely without mercy and none of the mammies or her friends at that time would stop her. Who could stop her?

Mother was a very strong person and when she was accompanied by our eldest siblings like what she used to say now and then, we wouldn’t dare even utter a single word.

At first, I hated how she was so strict and would punish us. What was wrong with showing off a bit?

We were born rich, and the whole village was relying on us. So what was wrong with being overbearing?

But after several beatings and listening to life lessons, we learnt it the hard way.

When mother built a school in the village, it was the most amazing thing the villagers had ever seen. Although there were studies being conducted even before we were born, the school allowed kids from all eight villages and some other villages to come and learn.

Mingling with a lot of children from all walks of the world taught me a lesson, to be honest. Whilst I was privileged, that wasn’t something that I earned, but something that my mother achieved on her own.

All the money and fame belonged to her, and while that affected us as her children, in the true sense, it still belonged to her.

Learning with the other kids, I learnt a great deal. They were doing it for themselves and to make their parents and family proud. But what about me?

What did I do as my mother’s child to make her proud?

That forced me to reflect on myself thus becoming a good child since then.

I worked so hard, studied so hard and me and my brother, and we were competitors from a young age even until now when we both have our families.

Besides, my mother was very supportive of the competitions. She even offered prizes, and with such a dangling carrot in front of us, how could we not compete?

Thankfully, disregarding all that, we grew up well and built something that was our own and no longer had to be called our mother’s children every time other people saw us.

I wanted to be like my mother, help other women out there and make them realize their dreams.

It wasn’t easy, but I tried my best. I traveled all over the kingdom and during my quest; I met the love of my life. At that time, he was just a nuisance, someone who seemed to be entering my life to disrupt it.

But with time, I realized how special he was. We got to know each other, and before I knew it, he was asking for my hand from my mother.

My brother was a simple guy when he was in front of my mother and me. In our family, mother is the ruler, and that was an ironclad fact that wouldn’t change no matter what.

What my husband feared was my mother, and he wasn’t alone. She was feared by a lot of people. After all, as she grew up, she became prettier. With her being prettier, she attracted all sorts of people. Of which some of them were troublesome.

My mother had never been afraid of trouble. As long as you knock on her door, she will welcome you with the same attitude you came with.

She broke the record in history and became the first woman who had beaten a lot of suitors in life. She never dated anyone, and it made me wonder if she was loyal to whoever our father was. But since the topic was basically taboo, I still don’t know what was what until now.

After so many trials and tribulations, I finally got married to the love of my life and we both settled in Cropville Village, which upgraded into a town as the population increased and the industries increased.

Mother fulfilled her dream to make the village popular. Her market street started everything and still remained the most popular street in the town.

I conceived two children, a boy and a girl. And I raised them the same way my mother raised me.

Growing up alongside my brother, mother, and the several aunties and uncles who loved us so much, I never suffered. All I did every day was to receive. That is why I did my best to give when I could do so.

I don’t know what kind of future awaits me and my family, but all I know is that as long as I continue to follow my mother, life will remain blissful.

I will never live to regret it.

Thankfully, Mother seemed to be very blessed by the deity of life.

She still has long to live and I will always be there with her throughout it all.
