Chapter 170: Chapter 170: THE TALENTS

The other two were handicraft masters. One knew how to do pottery and the other was a basket-weaver.

The weaver could be taught how to weave yarn to make cloth or fabric. One of the goals she made the other time, not certain when, was to teach the villagers how to make wool and knit using it.

In this case, help the villagers rear the animals, which can give them wool and learn to weave techniques to help create the yarn, which then can be used to knit warm clothes in the future.

Teaching these techniques to someone who can’t betray her felt much easier than letting someone who will come and go learn that.

Thinking about doing so in the future, Calista couldn’t help but beam.

Lastly, the woman was an embroider, another talent that she wanted for herself. The embroiders she hired were all from other villagers. Having one closer to her would save a lot of trouble. Whenever she came up with a new idea, she would hand it over to the other and let her work on it.

At the same time, she can also teach the females in the village and let them add a craft to their list.

As for where they will stay? The dorms were furnished and ready for people to move in. She didn’t have anything to worry about regarding that part.

Calista got the eight contracts which were in her name, as Diana mentioned earlier.

She stashed them in her clothes, securing them safely so that she wouldn’t lose them.

After checking the eight, she took Diana to the goods which had been offloaded and were now ready to take a look.

Diana brought everything that she had asked for and wanted. And seeing everything laid out neatly there, she found herself liking the other more and more.

After checking everything, Calista ordered everyone to put them in the factory. Where she showed them where to put this and that.

This process lasted for a long time, and by the time they were done, it was already dusk and stomachs were grumbling.

That night, dinner was eaten a bit late, but the food was abundant and everyone ate their fill.

It was another night to remember.

The next morning, after breakfast, Calista left for the factory where she found the eight new servants already waiting for her.

Since they were quite knowledgeable in their areas, Calista had them tag along when she had Diana’s people start assembling the machines.

The assembling part was something that couldn’t be achieved in a day. A lot of work was put into it and the more Calista watched on the first day, the more she felt frustrated and bored. She knew she wouldn’t be able to watch everything.

Diana, sensing that, knew that the other wouldn’t last long and decided to be an angel.

"Sis, I will keep watch. You take a rest and do whatever you want to do!" she suggested, providing Calista a way out.

Surely, when Calista heard that, she mooched the other on the cheek, making the strong men in the surroundings blush with the sudden intimate display.

Ba Susan’s head nearly exploded when he saw that, and before he could reprimand her, Calista was gone.

After reclaiming her freedom, why should she wait and watch all that boring assembly?

She would rather watch when something is being made and not now.

And by letting someone else oversee everything, she can also do other things. Time waits for no one, after all.

In the day which followed, Calista found herself busy despite running away from the factory and leaving the cumbersome job to Diana.

Lisa wanted more fruits to make wine before leaving, so she was busy buying fruits from the villagers and people from other villagers.

In places like theirs, all they needed was to spread the news and people would come knocking on the doors on their own.

After the news spread, the villagers started visiting the village and the village chief’s house once again found itself crowded by people.

Instead of welcoming the people at her manor, Calista took the trouble to the village chief’s house and the man could only accept this and helped to maintain order.

It took three days to gather the fruits that the villagers brought and a lot of money was spent, but it was all worth it.

With all the fruits gathered, Lisa once again went into retreat, ready to do her magic, leaving Calista free to pursue other projects.

However, before she could start something new, one afternoon, she received a guest. Someone she was used to seeing and even sending food.

Seeing him didn’t faze her at all, as in her head she was expecting to hear a report and the progress of the students.

The guest was Ian, the scholar who had stayed behind to teach the students, the villagers who were very eager to learn as much as they could.

Seeing him, she knew that the man was here with some good news. The students had been working hard lately and knowing that her head was always warm.

So, when she saw him arriving, Calista welcomed him warmly and had a table set in the gazebo where she was lazing around, thinking of what next to do.

After all, from what she heard from Diana, all the machines would be fully installed in two days. They were currently working on the third workshop, and the possibility of finishing it later today was high.

Once the machines were installed and assembled, the hard work would start. This means that other projects might temporarily go on hold, so getting some of them done now might be of help.

However, when the teacher was in her presence, those plans could only go on hold. It wasn’t like she wouldn’t be able to continue with them once he was gone.

When Ian saw how relaxed the other was and how didn’t seem to be conscious when he was around.

His heart felt cold and heartbroken.
