Volume 15 Chapter 44: Don’t You All Think It’s Time For Change?

This was why he was here right now, focused on cooking. Keith continued to think about it. What would be a good choice for him? A person who lost his sense of taste. He cooked dishes for people who were in a similar condition. But not someone who lost everything. While he thought, Keith only came to one conclusion.

Let's do it. With the fruits, tomatoes were getting the same treatment. The dark red paste slowly became lighter as the two mixed. He poured the paste into the pot to let it simmer. Chicken stock came next; slowly, he mixed the two together, making a stew. The last step was the potatoes and vegetables.

“Keith!” “Papa, hungry.” While he cooked, the others entered. Eri and Fira glared at the pot. Lei and Mir did the same, almost drooling into the pot. Ember was prepared to dive, but Aria swooped down and picked him up before he had the chance. Nothing was going to bother him.

Keith laughed, "Alright, we can have a taste." He picked up the pot and headed out. The little ones followed behind like little ducklings.

“Sorry about the trouble, Young Man.” Elyndra felt guilty having a guest cook for her.. He had probably been doing this ever since he came to the garden house.

"There's no need to apologize; I like cooking." He placed it on the table, and they ate. They were all savoring the taste. There was a spicy kick with a mellow sweetness at the end. Scarlet chewed happily, "Keith, are you planning to make spicy dishes now?"

"Mi'lady, manners," Selk muttered. How could she talk with her mouth full?

"Probably." Keith nodded, "Do you like it, Eri?"

"Mmhmm." Eri nodded as she gobbled the potatoes.

Alastair was still working on his paperwork in his office. His eyes were locked onto the files, soulless like a machine.

“Your Majesty, we’ve brought you some food.” Rhaegon and a butler entered the office. Alastair glanced up before he looked back down, “Leave it on the table.”

“Your Majesty, you should try it.”

“...” Alastair didn’t say anything, but then he stared at the soup, “This is soup?” He had never seen anything like this before.

Rhaegon explained, "The chef wanted to try something new. He said the soup must be eaten hot. It will make your mouth pop."

“...Never use “pop” in a sentence like this again.” Alastair sighed as he stared at the bowl and then at his gaze. He sighed as he took a bite. It didn’t take a second before he finished the food off like it was nothing.

Once he was finished with the dish, Rhaegon questioned, “What do you think?”

“Hmm? It’s the same.” Alastair didn’t say anything more as he returned to his work. Rhaegon nodded as he headed to the garden house.

Keith was there, “So what did he think?”

The prime minister shook his head, “He didn't react to your soup.” It was the same reaction as before. However, that made Keith shake his head, “Okay, then I think I know what I’m dealing with.” The soup was a tester. It was time to bring in his A-game.

“Let’s do this!” There was no way he could give up on the first try.

While this happened, over in the dukedom, “Sarthos, why have you called all of us here?” It was rare for the grand duke to request everyone to come here.

“Gentleman, I want to ask you all a question. Don’t you think there’s a need for change?”

“Hmm?”

“Don’t you think the king has been too lethargic with everything that’s around him?”

“...” The other nobles were silent when they heard this; it was true. Alastair has been quite distant with all of them. Sarthos then explained, “What I wish for now is to replace him.”

“Didn’t you try that with your son?” One of the nobles chuckled.

“I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about replacing the entire royal family in general.”

“!” The other nobles changed. “Have you gone mad?!” There was one person who couldn’t believe such an idea. To replace the entire royal family. They all knew what that implied; it meant the royal family would be switched out. However, it also meant the destruction of the royal family.

“Alastair shouldn’t deserve to be king. And the descendants that are brought with him are also incapable.” You have Scarlet, who was infatuated with a human, and then Tharaziel, who was weak.

“...” The thought in mind had caused the others to mull it over. The demon kingdom was going to be an issue as time progressed. They were worried about their descendants.

“So, how about it? Are you willing to change the demon kingdom with me?”
