“...Why are you here, Tharaziel?” Scarlet’s eyes widened as she stared at her brother, who was wheezing and sneezing. Oh, he was riding in the cargo. The ride was pretty bumpy; he probably banged his head a couple of times against the box.

Valgros sighed as he dragged him out, “What are you doing here?” Now, it was his turn to say something. His voice was full of disbelief and amazement at how daring this prince was.

Tharaziel patted his shoulders, “Of course, I have to come. You’ll need all the muscles you can gather!"

“...” Muscle? Are you being serious? Keith glanced at Valgros, who looked like he was about to laugh. What muscle? How are you stronger than us? In terms of appearance, the one who had the most muscle to the least was:

Valgros - Keith - Tharaziel.

Scarlet sighed, “You only recovered a few days ago." The child was in a cast. Coming here was asking for his bones to be broken.

“No way am I going to be left out!” Tharaziel sat on the ground, clearly adamant about following after them.

"Stop being childish and return home."

“I wanna help out. Selk is family to me as well!” Even though Selk was Scarlet’s maid, she also took care of him from time to time. How could he stay back when her life was on the line?

“I'm going to follow you guys even if you beat me!"

“...” Scarlet really didn’t know what to say. Keith chuckled, “It’s only one more person; it’s not going to kill us.” At this point, it would be more of a hassle to bring him back. 

“Alright," Time was not on their side. She quickly warned, "But you have to follow all of our commands.”

“What am I? A kid?” He wasn't a fool to question them in this situation.

“A brat.” Scarlet rolled her eyes as the group started to drape themselves with crimson cloaks.

"Are these supposed to shield us from the heat?" Keith glanced at it. It felt like cotton, and it didn't feel warm wearing it.

Valgros explained, “Mmhmm, it’s made from the hide of a flame pigeon. It should be able to deal with the head going forward.” He turned to Scarlet, “But there are better fire resistance items.” This wasn't the first time he had used fire-resistant clothing, and he could tell this wasn't the higher-end variety.

“This was the best we could do with the time constraint.” This was a rush job; procuring a powerful one on short notice was difficult. 

“Understood. Let’s go now.” They would have to make it work. Grabbing the rest of the gear, they headed in. Just stepping in, it was an instant change of heat. 

“There are seven levels to this heat. Right now, we’re on the outer rim of the edge.”

“Where do we have to go?” 

“We have to go into the 4th-3rd layer. That’s where we’ll find the flower.” Scarlet explained as they headed over. While they did, 

“Oh, there’s some interesting ingredients here.” There was a good number of herbs around them. Keith picked them up and continued forward. It didn’t take long for them to head into the sixth zone. Keith slightly wiped the sweat off his face.

“Let’s go to bed now.” 

“Mmhmm.” Keith nodded as he was going to go to bed. However, 

“Wait a minute, how are we splitting this up?”

“Of course, me and Keith are going to be together.” 

“No way!” Tharaziel roared as he pointed at Keith, “A man and a lady should not be together at all!”

“But we sleep together from time to time.”

“That’s because you jump into my bed like there’s nothing wrong with it.” Keith rolled his eyes as he was going to say something about this. 

“Either way! You two shouldn’t be together.” 

“Who are you to decide this?!” 

Valgros chuckled, “It’s fine. Anyways, we should go to sleep.”

“Wait, who’s going to be on watch?” “Oh, you don’t need to worry about that.” Valgros waved his hand, and then a small bat appeared, “This here is my familiar. It’ll watch over us while we sleep. It’ll inform me if anyone is getting close to us.” 

“Neat.” 

“Alright, now sleep.” Keith and the others headed into their tents and hit the hay.
