Chapter 265: Chapter 218: Ning Yan Reappears?_2

As the horrifying power erupted, a terrifying speed followed. The rock pillars on either side seemed to retreat like flying past, but what was more astonishing was the speed of the humanoid monster ahead, who was as fast as Su Yu. Despite his full sprint, Su Yu still could not close the gap between them.

An aimless chase ensued, unaware of how far they had run. Su Yu, still unable to catch up and frustration mounting, was about to activate the power of the golden blood in his right hand, when suddenly, another monster, made of an amalgamation of rocks, sprung out in front of the fleeing humanoid monster.

The monster caught the humanoid by surprise. One stretch of its hand, and the rock monster was instantaneously shattered. But, almost simultaneously, four more rock monsters emerged from all sides, lunging towards the humanoid.

The humanoid monster effortlessly shattered all four rock monsters. However, the delay was enough for Su Yu to appear before it.

"Are you Ning Yan?" Unable to contain himself any longer, Su Yu looked into the humanoid’s face and called out.

At the mention of "Ning Yan", the humanoid’s body shuddered. Unable to hold back any longer, it covered its face with its beast-like claws, seemingly unwilling to let Su Yu see its face.

"You are Ning Yan." Observing at close range, Su Yu finally confirmed his suspicion.

"I’m Su Yu, Ning Yan... Do... do you remember me?" Watching Ning Yan, now monstrously disfigured, Su Yu struggled with his feelings: love? pity? sympathy? hatred? or something else...

The indescribable, sour taste in his mouth made Su Yu’s voice hoarse.

The humanoid monster appeared to have regained its composure from the initial panic, still covering its face with its claws.

"Ning Yan, what on earth happened to you? After you left... How did you end up here?" Su Yu felt bombarded with questions, but the words just wouldn’t form.

The humanoid did not respond, then suddenly, turned and leapt away again.

"Don’t go!" Su Yu cried out in desperation, impulsively stepping in front of it to block its path.

"Argghh!" The humanoid let out a roar, reminiscent of ancient monsters, and lashed out at Su Yu blocking its way.

"Ning Yan, it’s me, Su Yu!" Su Yu managed to dodge, shouting as he did.

With a "whoosh", the humanoid darted past him.

Alarmed, Su Yu reached out to grab it.

The humanoid’s claw swiped back. It finally made contact with Su Yu. Su Yu was unable to summon his black-scale beast claw and instead used his unarmored left hand to block the claw strike. The powerful impact shattered bone and tore flesh of his hand, changing the color of his face from the intense pain. The brief moment of distraction allowed the humanoid to dart behind another rock pillar. By the time Su Yu recovered and gave chase, the humanoid had vanished.

The Gasification Mysterious Power was continuously injected into his left hand, causing it to regenerate at a pace visible to the naked eye. Su Yu slowly circled the rock pillar, his expression lost and disoriented.

"Su Yu, do you like her?" Ada, who had been lazily resting on his shoulder, spoke up all of a sudden.

"I don’t know..." Staring at the area around the pillar, Su Yu had no idea which direction the humanoid monster had escaped to. Chasing now was aimless.

"You don’t know?" Ada sounded surprised.

"Hmm, I used to... love her a lot. But then... a lot happened and now, I even don’t know if I still love her. Maybe, maybe not, but... I cannot bear to see her transformed into a monster like this. Ada, is there a way? Is there a way for her to recover? You should know, right?"

"Yes, I do know. She has been implanted with the 666 seed. However, this process is irreversible... she will only become more and more like a monster... more and more terrifying..."

"What?" Su Yu shivered all over. He looked at Ada, asking, "You mean, she... can’t change back? Forever... forever a monster?" The last word was squeezed out with great difficulty.

Ada looked at Su Yu with some sympathy, shook her head, and sighed, "Yes, it’s irreversible, even gods can’t..."

Su Yu faltered and toppled beside the stone pillar, feeling as if all his strength had been drained away. He and Ada were soulmates; of course, he knew Ada wasn’t deceiving him.

"Irreversible, no way... no way she can revert to being a human? Always... a monster? A progressively more terrifying monster?" Su Yu shivered from head to toe, imagining the beautiful Ning Yan, gradually turning into a monster, more and more horrifying. The cruelty of it was unimaginable.

Looking at Su Yu’s expression, Ada sighed and continued, "Well, nothing is absolute in this world. Even though this process can’t be reversed, even by gods. But if you could be greater than a god, perhaps it could be possible? Or maybe, the 666 seed... is that special seed... it may also have the possibility of reversing the cycle... Everything in the future is unknown, even for beings like us who are nearing perfect life form, it’s unpredictable."

Ada’s words did not make Su Yu feel any better. He sighed deeply, filled with pity for Ning Yan and a sense of powerlessness for himself.

He had thought that he had become strong enough to handle all dangers, but at this moment, Su Yu realized that he was still so insignificant and helpless.

"Let’s go." Su Yu sighed, took Ada with him, and began to wander aimlessly amongst the stone pillars.

Ada said: "Uncle, you’re going the wrong way. We should go this way, I have sensed that the snake kid is in this direction."

Su Yu was taken aback, "Uncle? Me? And who is the snake kid?" No sooner had he asked than he realized that the ’snake kid’ Ada referred to must be Meng Ting’s Dragon Kid. Ada had always mistaken it for a snake, so she renamed Dragon Kid to Snake Kid.

"Ada was only born a short while ago. As for you... based on your current life force, you are already in your thirties. Is it wrong to call you ’uncle’?" Ada gave a cheeky grin.

Hearing this, Su Yu remembered that there existed the issue of life force dissipation in this world. One day was equivalent to a year of life force used up in his old world. Although being soulmates with Ada could counteract the daily dissipation of life force, the life force that he had lost in the past could not be recovered, unless he used a Time Coin.

So Ada was not wrong. Although Su Yu still appeared young on the outside, his life force definitely corresponded to someone in his thirties.

Caught off guard by the realization, Su Yu blurted, "Ada, then... what about the 666? Ning Yan hasn’t paired with any Category 5 lifeforms yet, has she?"

Ada replied: "Humans implanted with the 666 seed undergo continuous monstrous changes in body and mind. Unlike ordinary Black Iron Warriors, they don’t have the issue of accelerated life force dissipation. So don’t worry, Ning Yan will not die from life force dissipation."

Su Yu breathed a small sigh of relief, "So you’re saying, it includes the power of traversing the Sixth-Class World in 666? Otherwise, how did she get into this world?"

Ada answered: "The essence of 666 is actually another type of seed with the potential to evolve into a perfect life form. It’s not surprising for them to have some abilities similar to us Category 5 lifeforms."

Su Yu nodded, "We all evolve through killing monsters. Why do we turn into Black Iron Warriors, while Ning Yan became a 666? Is it because someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes or what?"

Ada wrinkled her little nose, her big black eyes whirled around before saying, "It’s a matter of probability. It also has something to do with the negative emotional energy some humans secretly harbor. Even Black Iron Warriors like you have the chance of degenerating into a 666."

"Then what’s the deal with the number 8 appearing on her chest?" Suddenly remembering what he had heard about Lei Rui’s performance in the hospital, Su Yu couldn’t help but ask again.
