A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners -
Chapter 35: A Little Results
Chapter 35: A Little Results
Oliver naturally continued fishing. He wasn’t satisfied with just one fish, and he still wanted to enjoy the moment of fishing while trying to comprehend the Absolute Fusion Technique.
With his teacher also here, he could ask whenever he got confused.
When he sat not too far from Evylin, the latter stared at him with narrowed eyes.
"Did you advance?" she asked.
Apparently, she had just noticed it, but even she couldn’t easily detect his cultivation.
Lisa looked surprised to hear that, and Oliver casually nodded.
"Last night, I was lucky enough in the Chaotic World to find something that boosted my cultivation," he explained.
"By the way, I also got a few items," he added, then told her he had obtained a golden seed from a sunflower cluster and a snake scale filled with void dots, though it was small since the snake had died while hibernating.
He asked Evylin if the golden seed would still be useful if kept and whether there was a way to return the scale to its original size.
Upon hearing all that, Evylin immediately responded, "Seems like your luck was very good. That golden seed should be from a Sunflower King. Although it’s not the kind of monster great in battle, if you raise it, it’s very useful. But if you’re lazy, selling it is fine too. Tomorrow, meet me at my mansion. I’ll help you restore the scale’s original size."
Oliver couldn’t help but feel excited after hearing his teacher could restore the scale’s size. He quickly nodded.
"What about your Life Power?" Evylin asked again.
Detecting Life Power was much easier, but since it was his secondary power hidden behind his Void Power, Evylin naturally couldn’t determine how far he had developed it.
"I’ve been learning it well," Oliver replied.
To him, that answer should be enough, and Evylin likely wouldn’t ask further.
"Right now, I’ve started trying to understand the Absolute Fusion Technique," he added.
"You already got that technique? Did you buy it or complete a task to get it?" Evylin looked surprised that he had obtained it so quickly.
After all, she knew the price for it wasn’t cheap, and getting it through tasks wasn’t easy either.
"I bought it," Oliver replied.
"Ohh..." Evylin looked into his eyes more seriously upon hearing that but didn’t ask any further.
Maybe she didn’t care how he got the money.
After their brief conversation, Oliver resumed meditating, while Evylin, who was purely there to relax, focused on her fishing rod, waiting for a fish to bite.
In fact, a few others also caught big fish like Oliver, making the bridge a bit more crowded.
Unfortunately, even after a few hours, no fish bit Evylin’s bait.
It’s said that fishing can relieve stress, but it can also increase stress—and Evylin, who hadn’t caught a single fish while others had, occasionally showed a sour expression.
Oliver felt a bit nervous seeing her expression, afraid she might go berserk.
Fortunately, she didn’t. After another hour with no catch, she finally went home with a clearly foul mood.
Strangely enough, just after she left, Oliver landed another big fish—one even bigger than before.
If Evylin hadn’t left, who knows how she would have reacted?
Alex was still behind him. Evylin’s presence had kept him quiet, but now he looked more relaxed.
Oliver easily pulled up the second fish and stored it in his Observation Ring.
It wasn’t that strange—although an Observation Ring was considered rare, Storage Rings were still fairly common among Cultivators and Awakeners.
Two big fish, and it was already late afternoon—Oliver was naturally satisfied.
"Do you want some of the fish meat?" Oliver asked Alex.
"Of course I do. Give me a few kilograms," he replied.
"Alright," Oliver nodded.
He took out the first fish, already dead but still fresh thanks to being kept in a frozen space.
"Find some plastic bags to carry it," he said before beginning to cut up the fish.
Alex quickly ran to a shop nearby to buy a large plastic bag.
Since he asked for a few kilograms, Oliver naturally cut off a large piece for him.
"I’m heading home," Alex said after receiving the fish meat.
He then took a taxi to go home.
Oliver also returned home, though he wasn’t in a hurry, so he simply walked.
His eyes glanced at his stats, the result of meditating while fishing:
(Innate Scripture from Void Body:
Black Hole (4.09%) +0.09
(Scripture:
Order of Life (3.13/10%) +0.13
(Innate Techniques from Void Body:
Void Domain (1.95%)
Void Particle Control (6.45%) +0.05
Void Step (5.85%) +0.1
Void Body Transformation (6.70%) +0.2
Void Sense (8.50%) +0.3
(Technique:
Absolute Fusion Technique (0.09%) +0.09
All scriptures and techniques increased slightly, except for Void Domain.
Relying on the Domain of his Will, he naturally divided his mind to comprehend the scriptures and other techniques besides the Absolute Fusion Technique after focusing on it briefly.
Even if just a little, his understanding had improved.
Compared to Void Domain, he felt Absolute Fusion Technique was easier to comprehend.
What he really lacked was accumulation and deeper knowledge of the technique.
He kept pondering until he finally arrived home as the sky began to darken.
Upon entering, he saw a package on the table, likely the tracking device he had ordered.
He picked it up and quickly opened it, revealing a silver bracelet inside with blinking lights and a small screen to input a code. A short code was written directly on the bracelet.
As long as he gave Ivy the code, she would be able to sense the bracelet’s presence—just as he would with hers.
Oliver immediately sent the code to Ivy, and apparently, she had already sent hers earlier, but he hadn’t checked his phone.
Afterward, Oliver wore the bracelet.
When he input Ivy’s code, he instantly sensed the direction to find her by selecting her code from the saved list in the device.
’This thing really is advanced. No wonder it’s so expensive,’ he thought.
"Bro!"
"Oliver!"
Sofia came out of her room, while Emma came down from the second floor, walking on the stairs with a hammer in her hand.
"What are you doing with that hammer?" Oliver asked the little girl, confused.
Even Sofia looked puzzled.
"Emma, don’t carry heavy things. If it falls on your foot, you’ll get hurt." As a mother, Sofia couldn’t help but give advice.
"The kitchen cabinet’s wood came loose. I wanted to fix it," the girl replied casually.
"Mom, it’s not that heavy," she added while swinging the hammer—only for it to slip from her hand.
BANG!
It landed loudly on the floor.
"You!" Sofia’s eyes widened, while Oliver quickly picked up the hammer.
"You’re not allowed to hold this again," he said.
He then went to the kitchen to check the cabinet and found that it had indeed come loose.
However, it didn’t need a hammer to fix. Oliver just pressed the wooden part with his foot, and it snapped back into place.
Emma probably had done something to make it come off.
Naturally, both Emma and Sofia followed him into the kitchen.
When they arrived, Oliver pulled out the two big fish he had caught, surprising both of them.
"Mom, we’re eating well tonight," he said with a chuckle.
Casually, he began cutting some meat from the second fish. He only took a little for themselves, though he wanted to keep both.
And he continued to cut the remaining pieces, putting them into plastic bags, about 2 kg for each plastic bag.
"Emma, help me give these to the neighbors," he said.
He didn’t mind sharing, as many of the neighbors in this housing complex had helped them from time to time.
