Chapter 156 - 156 89 I Want to Hold You

Chapter 156: Chapter 89 I Want to Hold You Chapter 156: Chapter 89 I Want to Hold You Yun Yuwan turned her face aside, looking up at Wen Yangzhi with a smile as radiant as a spring mountain in bloom, pointing to the sky, “Brother, look, that firework is so beautiful!”

Wen Yangzhi watched her with deep eyes. As their gazes met, his emotions did not overflow, yet strands of love intermingled with hers through the gaze he fixed upon her.

The flickering fireworks were like his heart.

He did not know how to keep her with him.

He knew far less about her than he thought, unaware of her thought patterns, and clueless about what kind of praise she considered genuine.

She was young, but she was a woman to him, who also needed to be guessed and taken care of.

Wen Wei caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye, seeing Wen Yangzhi with his arm around Yun Yuwan’s shoulders, Wen Yangzhi leaning in, not watching the fireworks that filled the sky but instead looking down at his sister for a long time without shifting his gaze.

Yun Yuwan’s laughter was like that of a small sunflower; she was not the least bit afraid of Wen Yangzhi and kept pointing at the fireworks in the sky, babbling incessantly.

Wen Yangzhi just watched her talk.

Wen Wei was somewhat astonished.

He took a serious look, confirming that his son had his arm around Yuwan.

One of Wen Yangzhi’s hands hung down with a cigarette between the fingers, and the other hand rested on her shoulder.

For a fleeting moment, Wen Wei even felt that the two of them looked a bit like a couple.

But then he thought it was absolutely impossible.

However, their relationship wasn’t as bad as he had imagined.

Yun Yuwan suddenly started to quarrel with Wen Yangzhi, “I just remembered, when I was seventeen, you watched the firework festival in Tokyo with an elder sister.”

The hand on her shoulder was warm and dry, his voice deep; despite the ongoing fireworks, his voice weaved through like the knotted growth of an old tree, “Are you upset?”

Even if his voice was soft, merely a stream of air drifting from his throat, it was roughened by the texture of aged wood, resonant as a forest bell. Even in a whisper, his voice never seemed low, infused with a primeval ruggedness that, under the fireworks, she could hear clearly.

Yun Yuwan pursed her lips, feeling somewhat uncomfortable, and muttered softly, “Why did you watch fireworks with someone else?”

Wen Yangzhi spoke, looking down at her, “She followed me there; it was me who wanted to watch alone, and she disturbed me.”

But she just wasn’t happy, the thought of someone else watching with him made her a little distressed.

She pulled Wen Yangzhi’s hand off her shoulder, “I don’t want to play with you anymore.”

Wen Wei couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he saw Yun Yuwan pulling Wen Yangzhi’s hand away.

Wen Wei broke out in a cold sweat.

Indeed, their relationship was very bad; Hong Sheng just touched her casually, and Yuwan shrugged him off.

Yun Yuwan, while watching the fireworks and becoming angry, ran back into the villa by herself.

Wen Yangzhi extinguished his cigarette and followed her inside.

Wen Wei was lost in thought.

When Wen Yangzhi opened the door to the room, he saw Yun Yuwan sitting at the foot of the bed, looking down.

But the problem was, she had run into his room.

Wen Yangzhi wanted to laugh.

Clearly, she was waiting for him to coax her; now she even knew how to play hard to get.

He walked over and sat at the foot of the bed, lifting Yun Yuwan into his arms and placing her sideways on his lap, “What are you angry about, tell me.”

Yun Yuwan still hung her head: “I’m angry that I didn’t start dating you then.”

As the young girl brooded over various trivial matters, Wen Yangzhi watched her drooping eyelashes casting a shadow over her bright, round eyes, which were shrouded to reveal just a sliver of a crescent moon. She looked drowsy and forlorn, petite as she was, resembling a little puppy sad and disheartened because its owner had just petted another dog, yet at the same time, she was seductively charming with her red lips and upturned nose.

He hugged Yun Yuwan, his arm passing behind her back and gripping her slender arm, “It doesn’t matter; we’re dating now, and we can date for a very long time.”

His lips touched her forehead and, for some reason, Yun Yuwan burst into laughter. She wrapped her arms around his waist and drew closer, their eyes meeting, “Why are you suddenly like this, weren’t you always tough talking?”

He spoke languidly, “Happy now?”

She wanted to turn her face away and secretly delight in the moment, yet she demanded playfully, “Say you love me and I’ll be happy, I like hearing Wen Yangzhi say he loves me.”

So this was what dating Wen Yangzhi was like; Yun Yuwan felt as if she had fulfilled a long-held dream.

It turned out he wouldn’t be tough with his girlfriend.

“You really want to date me?” Wen Yangzhi lifted an eyebrow slightly, asking nonchalantly.

Her hands tugged at his shirt, pulling the hem out, twisting it around her index finger, “I would have been very happy to be with you at that time because I liked you so much during those years, I even wanted to cry.”

The premium quality shirt was silky smooth in her hands.
