A Crazy Love Proposal
Chapter 155 - 155 88 Shes Under My Charge_2

Chapter 155: Chapter 88 She’s Under My Charge_2 Chapter 155: Chapter 88 She’s Under My Charge_2 Zhao Qin tacitly agreed there was potential for development, “Choosing Jiang Yingyu is also an option, although he is a bit less desirable than Yang Ni, that young guy has a good temper and is easy to get along with.”

If we’re picking based on looks, both of them are quite attractive.

Wen Yangzhi sat down, listening to the two of them talk as if he were an outsider.

Wen Yangzhi was sitting beside her, and Yun Yuwan hastily defended, “He and I definitely don’t have that kind of interest.”

Zhao Qin just clicked her tongue lightly, “You might not understand, but doesn’t he know better? This kid is quite precocious. If he really didn’t want to enter into a marriage alliance with you, he wouldn’t even be friends with you afterward, he would avoid any suspicion. His lack of avoidance means he has some thoughts.”

Yun Yuwan immediately looked anxiously at Wen Yangzhi.

Yet Wen Yangzhi was not looking at her and calmly joined the conversation, “Since everyone knows she’s still young and naive, there’s no need to force her to make choices when she’s naive.”

He looked up indifferently, his gaze falling on Zhao Qin, “Did you raise her for a marriage alliance?”

Zhao Qin became somewhat flustered, “Of course not, Hong Sheng, you can’t say that either.”

Wen Wei sighed inwardly.

How bad would the relationship have to be for them to outright say in front of Yuwan that they raised her for a marriage alliance, to clear any connection? One would expect the son and the daughter of Wanyi to be close. It was unimaginable that there wasn’t any resemblance in affection, that Hong Sheng would dislike Yuwan so much.

Wen Yangzhi put down his knife, “Her marriage affairs will all be managed by me from now on, there’s no need for anyone else to interject.”

Both Wen Wei and Zhao Qin were somewhat shocked.

Wen Wei thought he had heard wrong, “What did you say?”

Without any hesitation, Wen Yangzhi repeated, “Her marriage affairs, if there’s to be any discussion, it will only be with me.”

Wen Wei and Zhao Qin both fell abruptly silent.

Zhao Qin didn’t dare to believe her son would say such things.

To arrange a marriage alliance for Yun Yuwan was to provide a bond for Hong Sheng, offering mutual support and more backing for the Wen family.

Now, the relationship between Hong Sheng and her was so poor that he didn’t want to owe her any favors or have any entanglements, preferring to let her avoid the alliance and clearly discard this connection.

Wen Yangzhi looked towards Yun Yuwan, his eyes cold as frost, “Are you finished eating?”

“Yes,” Yun Yuwan responded softly.

He wiped his hands with a napkin, “Upstairs, I want to talk to you.”

Yun Yuwan quickly wiped her mouth and scurried after him.

Wen Wei and Zhao Qin just watched them go upstairs, exchanged a look, and remained silent for a long time, not knowing what to say.

As soon as Wen Yangzhi entered the room, Yun Yuwan closed the door and ran in to hug him.

His arms fell on her back, wrapping her from shoulder to back, the hug reminiscent of two tree roots growing together, intertwining and entangling, the tendrils connecting like tingling currents in a symbiotic, both substantial and intangible intimacy, provoking carnal desires.

Yun Yuwan had only been eating with Wen Wei and Zhao Qin downstairs, and being temporarily not a couple with Wen Yangzhi for such a short time, she already felt that she couldn’t stand it.

She felt her brother should be holding her while they ate.

Yun Yuwan held him for a while, then suddenly heard Wen Yangzhi reminding her in a low voice:

“In a harsh environment, whether it’s due to your family of origin or subsequent conditions, kind-hearted people are the ones without blessings.”

She looked up at him, puzzled, “Brother, why are you telling me this?”

Wen Yangzhi lowered his gaze to look at her, his jawline sharp and defined, even when bowing his head he maintained a neat and tidy composure, his expression calm, his maturity evident, exuding a stability born of experience, “If you still cannot be direct about being with me, then next time reject them outright instead of letting them manipulate you.”

She stared at him like an otter, her eyes dark and glossy, “Are you teaching me?”

“I am teaching you,” Wen Yangzhi affirmed, his usual sternness present, yet uncharacteristically, to prevent her from feeling invalidated by his teaching, he bent his head and kissed her lightly.

Yun Yuwan could not follow his line of thought, but being held and kissed by him, even as she was being indoctrinated, did not repel her. Instead, she genuinely thought it would be nice if her brother would kiss and hug her every time he taught her these lessons in the future.

Wen Wei and Zhao Qin sat downstairs, unmoving for a long time.

After a while, Wen Wei lit a cigar, “You should not meddle in Yuwan’s future marriage matters anymore.”

Zhao Qin was also shaken, “I truly didn’t expect the relationship between Hong Sheng and her to be so bad, bad enough that leveraging her arranged marriage wasn’t an option.”

“Have someone go up and call them down for the fireworks, to avoid a quarrel,” Wen Wei stood up.

Zhao Qin nodded, sighing inwardly.

A servant came up to call them to watch the fireworks.

Yun Yuwan, feeling guilty subconsciously, thought to let go of Wen Yangzhi, but he continued to hold her firmly.

“Understood.”

Wen Yangzhi went down the stairs first, and when Yun Yuwan descended, she saw from afar Wen Wei and Wen Yangzhi, two tall figures standing on the lawn.

Not knowing what they were doing, Yun Yuwan ran over to look, and Wen Yangzhi, without a flicker, grabbed the back of her collar and pulled her aside, then withdrew his hand.

Next to him, Wen Wei started discussing the current policy changes of the Swiss Government regarding banks, which were likely to cause a massive outflow of depositors, yet unfortunately, they were still only choosing banks like Wells Fargo as their next go-to.

Wen Yangzhi, holding his cigarette naturally at his side, “The clients who keep their money in Swiss banks are just seeking stability. When filling the Credit Suisse gap, the Swiss Government treated some Asian clients like easy marks, selling them AT1 bonds. In recent years, Wen’s enterprise has been focusing on stability; the bulk of these Asian clients have invested with Wen’s, and there is still a chance.”

She didn’t quite understand and wanted to get closer to him to see what was going on, but Wen Yangzhi casually raised an arm to encircle her, preventing her from moving forward, without so much as a glance in her direction during the process.

Just then she saw the square tube in front of her catching fire.

She finally realized what was happening.

Brother had just pulled her aside directly to protect her, otherwise the firework debris would have hit her face.

Reflecting on her brother’s recent action, it was both natural and ambiguously intimate.

Though he was busy, she was in the corner of his eye.

She couldn’t help feeling proud.

A comet-like rocket soared into the skies, and in an instant, the heavens were filled with shooting stars, light pouring down in every direction, the brilliant glow of fireworks reflected on everyone’s faces, Yun Yuwan’s eyes, like pieces of colored glass, reflecting a thousand blossoms.

Wen Yangzhi looked at her, his first impulse was to kiss her right there.
