Chapter 927: Chapter 924: Honored Guest Arrives (Part 2)

After the tea was set down, Mr. Yun looked at the seats on both sides, wanting to say something, when a servant quickly walked in from outside. The servant whispered a few words to Mr. Yun.

Everyone was aware that an esteemed guest was likely arriving, so they all perked up their ears, wanting to hear which medical professional it might be. However, the servant spoke so softly that they couldn’t make it out.

Lin Tian, however, heard it clearly. The servant only said, "Master, they have arrived," without mentioning who it was, and after speaking, the servant left.

"Xiao Tian, push me to the door," Mr. Yun said to Yun Xiaotian.

Yun Xiaotian pushed the wheelchair, and the three of them walked to the entrance of Yunhe Hall, preparing to greet the esteemed guest. This made the renowned doctors in the room feel moved, wondering who deserved such an honor that Mr. Yun himself would greet them personally.

Lin Tian was also very curious about the identity of the visitor and their standing in the medical community to warrant such importance from Mr. Yun.

The three of them had not been at the door long before a few people appeared outside, with a servant leading the way, followed by just two people—two women, one older and one younger.

The elder woman wore a black dress, her hair grey but with few wrinkles on her face and bright eyes. From her looks, it was evident that she must have been a beautiful woman when she was young. Now she was older, but her grace hadn’t diminished one bit. Her age seemed similar to Mr. Yun’s, though she appeared slightly older.

When the two reached the door, Lin Tian saw the young woman and was instantly shocked. The woman wore an elegant dress, her figure graceful and alluring.

Wow, isn’t this my senior sister? Why is she here? Lin Tian was surprised. Every time he saw this senior sister, he’d feel restless; her charming allure was no less than that of the Fox Concubine. Every time he saw her, the scene in the bathroom would automatically appear in his mind—the towel slipping off and his senior sister’s beautiful, full figure.

Seemingly sensing a pair of burning eyes appraising her, Zi Yan looked towards the source of the gaze and immediately met Lin Tian’s eyes.

Upon seeing Lin Tian, Zi Yan was visibly stunned. She never expected to meet Lin Tian at the Yun Family estate, just as Lin Tian hadn’t anticipated seeing her there.

"Zi Yan, what’s wrong?" The elder beside Zi Yan asked, curious about her odd expression.

Zi Yan withdrew her gaze and whispered a few words into the elder’s ear, whose expression also became odd; then she looked at Lin Tian but quickly looked away because Mr. Yun was already waiting at the door.

"Elder Jiang, long time no see. You still look so young, yet I’m younger than you and look so much older," Mr. Yun said graciously.

"Yun Hongxi, aren’t we old acquaintances? Why the sudden politeness? Are you treating me, Jiang Xiu Ying, as an outsider?" The visitor called Mr. Yun by his name directly, but she sounded like an old friend.

Lin Tian couldn’t help but wonder if Mr. Yun might have been old lovers with this woman, unaware that the hall had already erupted.

The renowned doctors in the hall, upon seeing the guest and hearing the name "Jiang Xiu Ying," all stood up and began whispering among themselves.

"It’s actually Elder Jiang! Isn’t she known for not visiting people?"

"Indeed, Elder Jiang is a giant in our medical field, a model for us all. Even at her advanced age, she remains dedicated to laboratory work, focused solely on medical research."

"With Elder Jiang’s prestige, she need not endure such hardship and could easily live a comfortable life, yet she remains personally involved in everything."

...

This group of famous doctors discussed among themselves, allowing Lin Tian to understand more about who Jiang Xiu Ying was; not only was she a colossus in medical skills, but her character also earned everyone’s admiration.

Liao Ping, who usually held himself high for his family’s imperial physician background, also dared not act arrogant, and even the brash Du Zhong turned into a meek person.

This group of otherwise competitive physicians all changed their demeanor, becoming humble just because of Jiang Xiu Ying’s presence.

"Yun Hongxi, are you planning to keep this old woman standing at the door?" Jiang Xiu Ying said bluntly.

Mr. Yun, knowing Jiang Xiu Ying’s straightforward personality, wasn’t surprised by her direct words; instead, he warmly invited her in.

Jiang Xiu Ying took the left-hand seat. Anyone else sitting there would have been unacceptable to those present, but they all respected Jiang Xiu Ying. Lin Tian was amazed to see that reaching such a level as a medical professional was not a life wasted.

As for Zi Yan, she only glanced at Lin Tian upon entering and quietly followed behind Jiang Xiu Ying, completely different from her usual charming demeanor. If she hadn’t thrown a flirtatious glance when she sat down, Lin Tian would have thought she had changed her ways.

"Brother Lin, does that pretty sister seem to know you?" Fu Xin blinked, asking curiously.

"Fu Xin, sister is sister. I can add pretty, but as a mage, you shouldn’t use such terms. One should have no personal view, no view of others, no view of sentient beings, no view of a lifespan. All beings seen should be the same, irrespective of beauty, understand?" Lin Tian knocked Fu Xin’s head, instructing him.

The young mage shook his head, saying, "I don’t understand. Pretty is pretty, not pretty is not pretty. What’s the point of being fixated on appearances?"

"Not bad, young mage, you’re cultivating well. When you grow up, you’ll be a great mage," Lin Tian said, patting his head and smiling.

While Lin Tian was talking, the hall quieted down. He turned his head in surprise to see everyone had returned to their seats; in front of Jiang Xiu Ying, the physicians dared not talk as freely as before. However, they were more curious as they saw the right-hand seat was still empty. Who else could it be?

"Yun Hongxi, where is Miao Huaixin? Why hasn’t he come? Won’t he check on an old friend’s ailment?" Jiang Xiu Ying asked curiously upon seeing the empty seat opposite her.

"Elder Jiang, I was about to mention, Dean Miao has a surgery he must personally oversee, so he couldn’t make it. He said that if there’s an ailment you can’t heal, there’s no point in him coming either," Mr. Yun said with a smile.

"Did Old Miao really say that?" Jiang Xiu Ying asked, and Mr. Yun nodded.

"When did he become so polite? I’ll have to say a few words to him when we next meet," Jiang Xiu Ying said.

Lin Tian finally understood; they were talking about Miao Huaixin, who was most likely the dean of Xinghai Hospital in Xikou City. During the last school medical camp, Dean Miao had mentioned Zi Yan’s master, tying everything together.

This Jiang Xiu Ying was indeed Zi Yan’s master. With Zi Yan possessing both the golden thread and the Nine Needle Technique Golden Scroll, Jiang Xiu Ying, as her master, suddenly became quite mysterious. Lin Tian was very curious whether these treasures belonged to Zi Yan herself or were passed down from her master.

"Elder Jiang, you must be tired from your journey. Have some tea to refresh yourself," Mr. Yun said courteously.

"No need for tea now. With so many gathered here today, it’s not about drinking tea. Aren’t you concerned about your own illness?" Jiang Xiu Ying said bluntly, but her words carried a tone of concern.
