Chapter 32: Water Bottle

LILY

If anyone asked Lily about the best part of the Family Day, she’d have a problem picking.

She was sure about her best performance but the best part was difficult. There were so many great things.

The arrival of her Big Brother was so exciting that it almost erased the depressing feelings of being bullied earlier. There was also her Big Sister who was so good to her.

Then they won everything that they competed for.

When Lily started running for the first leg of the relay race, she thought they were done for.

Her opponents were trying to cheat by toppling her down but she ran like her life depended on it.

Because it did.

She didn’t want to disappoint her family who came to support her.

So when she passed the baton to her Big Sister, she almost cried. She just had no time to do that because Eliana flew like a dog was chasing after her.

The second leg was hurdling. Lily was shocked to see how her Big Sister jumped all the hurdles smoothly. So even if it took her time to deliver the baton to Eliana, her Big Sister still managed to close the gap.

How good it was to be an adult. She couldn’t wait to grow up like them.

But what really rocked Lily’s world was when her brother ran.

All her life, she’d only seen him composed and serious, working like the other members of their family.

She had never seen his brother compete in something like this. Not even counting the fact that he was running in his work suit, while all the other participants wore gym clothes.

Her Big Brother looked so cool. And she wasn’t the only one to think that.

The moment Lucian overtook the leading runner, the people on the bleachers started standing up, surprised at his insane speed.

Lily’s eyes were wide and unblinking, she wanted to memorize what she was seeing.

She was so flustered that she almost missed the chance to greet them near the finish line. She ran fast towards her family but almost fell forward when a lot of women suddenly started running towards her brother.

Huh?

It was then that she saw those women trying to hand water to her Big Brother, which he all declined.

Why would they go there to give my brother water?

But then Lily saw Lucian accept the drink given by Eliana. And how the faces of the women waiting around them soured.

So after Lily calmed down from congratulating her family for winning, she couldn’t help but ask.

"Should I also give you bottled water? I saw everyone giving you one, Big Brother."

From the side, Eliana couldn’t help but laugh at her question.

"No baby, you don’t have to give a water bottle, but you can if you want to." Replied her Big Sister.

"Why? What is it for?"

"It’s just a sign of affection. Couples tend to do that."

"So why are they giving Big Brother a bottle when only you can do it?" Asked Lily in confusion.

"Because they were testing if you’re Brother would consider replacing me."

Bewildered and suddenly threatened, Lily shouted a resounding "No!"

Then she began tugging on Lucian’s lapel. "Big Brother, you can’t ever accept water bottles from anyone other than Big Sister! Not allowed!"

"I see that you’ve won her."

"What can I say? I have a pleasing personality."

__

The day was probably too tiring for a child that by the end of the event, she was already snoozing in her brother’s arms.

Lucian and I decided to get to the bottom of the most recent security issue.

Attempted kidnapping, that’s what we’re concerned about right now.

We made sure to send Lily home ourselves before ordering Oliver to check the school’s surveillance for clues.

"I’ve informed Grandpa of the security threat. Mom and Dad would hear about it the moment they land."

"Who do you think is the culprit this time?" I asked as I rubbed Chester’s fur.

"May even be different people, considering the number of attempts."

"Lily should have more guards. Probably even a mini cam. She’s got the evil dominion for a classroom. That place was infested with tiny Alexas with different names."

Lucian noticed my worsening grimace.

"I’m surprised you managed to hold it in."

"Hell. Even I’m surprised!"

I suddenly jolted straight, eyes fired up.

"Just a little more and I would’ve committed child abuse. But none of that would even feel like child abuse because those kids were something else. Compared to those kids, you were apparently a saint! I need to tell Rina about today’s new breed." I couldn’t help but shuddered visibly.

Just as I ran to get my phone, I remembered to look back, "Thanks for coming. You probably had to cut your last appointment for that, so thanks."

"You think you could just thank me like that?"

Why do I even have to thank you?

I glared at him before going up against his chest then planting a light kiss on his lips.

But before I could back away, Lucian captured my back, locking me in his arms.

"What are you, a child?"

"And you? Since when have you been this needy?" I rolled my eyes while wrapping my arms around his neck.

Maybe he does deserve a little something. Lily did seem happy...

So I leaned in closer and then tilted my head before capturing his lips.

My breath catches in my throat. Only for him to deepen the kiss as he pushed me up against him, his skin rubbing against my very flimsy shirt. I couldn’t help letting out a moan.

That seemed to rile him up, his calloused hands suddenly sliding beneath my shirt.

Realizing what this guy planned to do and accepting that I was already too far gone to stop it, I muttered "bathroom" between his lips.

Kicking the door open, Lucian carried me into the bathroom while exploring the caverns of my mouth.

We’re both breathless, panting from kissing too intensely. We probably look a bit crazed right now, clutching at each other’s back and neck as we try to reach the tub.

"Lucian" I whispered his name, urging him to run the water. And he did.

I was snug against Lucian’s chest, his muscles tense as he backed me into the tub’s wall.

There should’ve been more sounds, but I’m stuck hearing my own heartbeat and the sounds of our uneven breathing.

His eyes bored into mine and suddenly I’m trying to clench my thighs. Not that I could as they were wrapped around Lucian.

Not exactly the most modest girl around, apparently.

"Eli. I’m warning you. Even if that door breaks or a fire starts, there is no stopping this." His eyes flashed and I nearly buckled at his implication.

"That bad?" I asked as if I wasn’t ready to jump his bones right here, right now.

"Eli," he growled in warning.

And that does it for my last remaining shred of sanity. From my spine down to my toes, my body’s already screaming for more.

"Fine."

"Take me," I answered against his lips.
