Nicholas actually had the gall to ignore her call like this.

If that idiot knew what news she had with her, he would probably be begging to hear from her instead.

But he obviously didn’t.

All Alexa could do was gnash her teeth as she messaged him about meeting up because he should know something very important about his beloved.

That eventually got her a response and a conversation, during which she relayed her discoveries and goaded him into taking what was his.

Ew.

Alexa rolled her eyes the entire time she was talking about that because why would anyone want that knocked-up hag?

Especially now that she’s pregnant, she’s about to look like one of those balloons.

Maybe this would even be the perfect time for her to take Lucian, who would surely prefer her over someone who looked like a piggy bank.

In the end, Nicholas dissuaded her from meeting up in person because she wasn’t exactly laying low with all that media attention they desperately asked for.

Alexa was miffed, but she realized this bastard had a point. She also didn’t want to be found colluding with Nicholas.

Just in case.

She learned her lesson after that entire stint with that idiot Jasper.

After all, she was going to use the paparazzi for this plan. It would have been better to wash her hands of more problems before they even began.

Unlike those men who wouldn’t answer her call, these people were all too eager to talk to her.

These tabloid vultures and social media vipers were waiting on their next victim, and Alexa had set too many people up that her tips were usually reliable.

Duh.

She planned them herself, after all!

But her best method was not to provide a scoop; it was more like asking if they had heard about ’something’ and then planting the idea in their heads.

And that was how she wanted to do this. Her goal wasn’t to talk about the pregnancy first. What she wanted was to talk about a high-profile individual being confined in one of the nation’s best private hospitals.

While the Grandparent of this individual was confined in some rickety public hospital, ain’t that a scoop as it is?

So, with a few choice words and a fabricated hint of her desire to see it for herself, Alexa managed to bring a few people with her to witness the show.

However, the most important part was how she used a large portion of her slush funds to bribe the hospital’s security team.

In particular, one person. Anyway, all she needed was a short time and an audience, so that should more than suffice.

Last but not least was the key to getting Eliana to follow.

It was that damned jade bracelet that their Grandmother treasured. She passed the damned thing to Eliana like she only had one granddaughter.

Well, sucks to be her. She died early, and this bracelet never returned to her favorite grandchild.

Now, it was even going to be used to cause her downfall.

The day for reckoning finally came, and Alexa was more than just excited.

She wasn’t as annoyed as she would normally be, even as she was greeted by the sprawling gardens and well-lit corridors that were a far cry from her ambiance this past week.

All she was thinking was the higher that bitch was, the farther she’ll fall. She can enjoy this view today.

See, she was nice like that!

As for the people necessary for this plan to succeed, all she needed was her future husband, the confirmation from that paid guard, and Nicholas.

At first, she planned to send Nicholas a photo of the bracelet so that he could use it to lure in Eliana.

Sadly, one thing she had going for her was her brain cells. And there was no way she’d come willingly if there was nothing at stake.

But never mind that when her mother was correct about using their grandmother. And Alexa was doing exactly that because it would always work.

Eliana was a sucker for that wrinkly woman.

However, Nicholas demanded to hold onto the bracelet because she would definitely ask for proof and would walk out the moment she realized the item wasn’t there.

Alexa reasoned that she wouldn’t escape even if she wanted to, considering how she set the whole thing up. But Nicholas questioned why she’d rather take the risk.

What if she didn’t even get inside as she wanted?

So, Alexa gritted her teeth and handed over the bracelet, who messaged Eliana about meeting up for it.

She liked how she answered with urgency and in her favor.

Just as expected.

Satisfied with the turn of events, Alexa began to message her contact at the security booth.

The two people split up, and Alexa waited for her contact to send her the video she required. She wanted confirmation before she started the last leg of her plan.

When her phone vibrated with the short video she wanted, her immediate response was to call Oliver.

Not Lucian. Because he would definitely not answer. The fastest way to make him believe her sincerity was to go through the proper channels.

For now.

But she’d have that Oliver fired, too, once they’re married.

Her message wasn’t frantic but more like an FYI that she allegedly bothered to say because she thought it would matter to them.

She would’ve normally sounded distraught, but that would never work with people like Lucian and his team. She realized she had been approaching the situation wrong and should have looked like a nonchalant woman.

Now that she’s learned from her mistakes, she’d surely get it right.

When the perfect time came, Alexa sauntered through the entrance like she owned the hospital. And there she was greeted by the cohorts she kept on hinting to yesterday.

"She should be at the VVIP section, right? How are we going to get there."

"No worries, I should have access."

That was true. She hadn’t used this before because they would be alerted by their people the moment she attempted to go up.

But today was fine since she basically alerted Lucian as well. If he really wanted to check for himself, he wouldn’t stop her from getting there.

Her access was actually due to Aldrin.

That dumbo finally had some use. Alexa used to hate how sickly Aldrin was, but she currently benefitted from it and wasn’t as angry anymore.

Aldrin always stayed at this hospital, so his primary physician was upstairs. Her excuse was getting her brother’s medical records, which his personal doctor held.

Maybe things really happen for a reason.

The moment she got the second video, Alexa’s steps quickened.

Even her tail of vultures followed her change of pace, and eventually, they made it close to her center stage.

All she needed was Lucian, who didn’t disappoint her.

He looked perfect, as always. He was a sight to behold, and even the people around her gawked at how Alexa had managed to get ahold of someone like Lucian.

She actually giggled inwardly at how these paparazzi would frame them to look like a better couple, especially when his wife was about to commit a giant gaffe.

"You better have an explanation for all this." Lucian threatened. His voice was cold and demanded respect.

"I’d rather you see for yourself. I chanced by this accidentally and thought a thousand times before messaging. So don’t shoot the messenger."
