Yours, Until Needed -
Chapter 106: Fangirl
Chapter 106: Fangirl
LARA
Lara sat alone at a cafe across SCC. To the onlookers, she was just a dainty girl enjoying her coffee and cake, but to those who knew better, like her perspiring security team, Lara was on the verge of hysteria.
Up until recently, she’s enjoyed a relatively comfortable life as a fan (stalker). She’s been able to amass excellent fan materials. She even learned how to ignore the ice block that always followed behind her idol.
But these past two weeks alone, she’s realized that her fangirling may face difficulties. Someone was always beating her to the best locations and was taking more photos than she’d like them to take.
Lara was not reconciled by this. Why can’t they let her fan girl in peace?
First, there was that shady ass Nicholas. When he came to see him, Lara realized she was dealing with another professional.
Or, more like someone more desperate. Lara hadn’t even used her family’s influence to get her into the same line of business, but this Nicholas was something else.
So, of course, that got Lara thinking. There was no doubt this guy had untoward feelings towards Eliana. His eyes alone shone with that yucky glint of someone in love. But what wasn’t nice was the eyes of possession that he had over someone already married.
Even Lara had her limits—albeit questionable, but she still had limits.
She was at least willing to wait for Lucian to perish from natural causes. She wouldn’t do anything to him, but if she encountered a moment where he was burning in front of her, Lara wasn’t sure she’d use her glass of water to extinguish the fire.
But that was not the point.
The point was that, at least, Lucian was not preventing her from fangirling (stalking).
But this Nicholas kept on blocking her way. And as a dedicated fan, she just couldn’t let this go.
Lara’s been on edge about Nicholas, but then comes this... this little shit called Alexa.
Eliana’s face soured every time this girl’s name was mentioned, so Lara felt the need to learn about her extensively
.She’s got it down to her manicurist and the brand of her hair spray.
That girl was a piece of work.
Literally.
She’s got herself renovated over the years, and she probably won’t recognize herself if she manages to go back into the past.
And Alexa was lucky genes needed to come from two people or her children would look too unrelated.
Lara’s beef with her was how she spent her time tormenting her idol. When she was not getting work done on herself or doing others, she was busy plotting against Lara’s angel.
Like today.
Lara discovered this girl’s movements when her personal shopper stopped buying her usual clothes.
Alexa was not the smart-casual type of girl. She wasn’t even smart, just casual at best. So when she started buying such outfits, Lara was alarmed.
And true enough, she had reason to be alarmed. Alexa joined forces with that bastard Nicholas and managed to infiltrate SCC.
In Lara’s anger, she didn’t notice how tight she was squeezing her coffee cup. And a few of the other cafe customers started noticing the change in her aura.
What annoyed Lara the most was how Alexa was allowed inside SCC while she had to sit outside, hoping for a glimpse of her idol.
Then, there was the fact that Lucian wasn’t fulfilling his job. How could he let those two in there?
So she asked for a meeting with him. And Lara was out here waiting for the meeting time.
__
Time ticked by so slowly, but she was even early at the restaurant they were supposed to be meeting at. After all, she had to pay the restaurant to let her borrow a uniform for an hour.
With all these people following Lucian around, she had no desire to be targeted.
And what if Eliana hears something about this? What if her idol mistakes her for a try-hard mistress?
Absolutely unthinkable!
So, Lara pretended to be a server, which was just the proper way to show appropriate decorum.
But unbeknownst to her, Lara’s phone, which had been kept silent for this meeting, was rattling with notices from her worried guards.
They had tried to inform her of something very important, but she was unable to see their fervent warnings.
So, when she entered the private room to meet Lucian, Lara almost fainted.
Sitting there with the ice block she was supposed to meet was her idol and angel, Eliana.
"Don’t waste our time. If you have nothing important to say, we’re leaving." Lucian said, practically growling at her.
While Eliana just gave her a small wave.
"Hi! We meet again."
Lara closed the door in surprise. Her heart was racing, and her palms were suddenly clammy.
She said ’Hi!’ to me!
But then she realized she was waiting behind the door, so Lara hurriedly returned.
"You must’ve called me over here for something. So speak."
Lara actually had a lot of things to say, but she was blanking out right now. She never thought she’d have such an opportunity.
"Care to sit down first?" Asked Eliana, who tapped Lucian’s shoulder as if to stop him.
She’s really nice...
"Hi. I’m Lara." She croaked and regretted not practicing and preparing for a moment like this.
"Yeah, we know. So get down to business." Lucian crossed his arms impatiently.
Lara was actually prepared to scold Lucian, but with Eliana here, she was trying to reorganize her words.
"Did you want to talk about the new people at SCC’s Headquarters?" Eliana asked while sipping her tea.
Lara’s face brightened at her words, thinking how Eliana really understood her intentions.
"Yes, I was rather concerned with the development of things."
"Before that, shouldn’t you be thinking about why you’re doing this?" Lucian challenged, and Lara didn’t like his tone one bit.
"Because I care. Isn’t that enough of a reason? And what about you? What’s up with your security? How could you allow such a thing to happen?!"
Lara planned on being chill and demure, but now she couldn’t help it. She wanted to crawl over the table and strangle Lucian in anger.
"Who says I’m allowing things to happen?! Even you couldn’t do anything about it!"
"I could have her disappear, but as her husband, shouldn’t that be your job?! Do you want to be replaced?!"
It was a shouting match, and with Lara’s anger surging, she didn’t even see Eliana blinking wildly as she watched them bicker.
"What exactly is happening?" She finally asked.
"Nothing. Everything’s fine." Lara smiled at her, rearranging her very angry face in a split second.
"Uhm...Yeah, about that... Lara, I’m not entirely sure about your intentions, so I would appreciate it if you could tell me more about it."
Lara flopped back on her seat in panic as she noticed how smug Lucian’s face was when Eliana said that.
"I... I don’t have any bad intentions. I’m just a fan who’s very thankful for being rescued when I needed it."
"Rescued? Are you talking about that day with the thug?"
"Yes. That day!" Lara nodded excitedly because Eliana seemed to remember.
"Hmm... Then why follow around instead of approaching?" Eliana tilted her head as she asked, and Lara feared seeing disdain in her eyes.
But nothing came. She was just looking at her with a questioning look. No aversion, no signs of anger, nor were there signs of fear.
Lara’s heart shook, initially hesitating but not wondering if she should ask.
"Could I? Would it be okay to approach?"
"Yes!"
"No."
Said Eliana and Lucian at the same time. Lucian’s face darkened as Elaina said, "Yes!"
Lara felt like she was on cloud nine. She really should have recorded this!
