Chapter 653 -655: Dr. Ma Three Days Before the Disaster

“I told you to throw it away, but you didn’t, and now look, we are being hunted…” Qin Muye said as he frantically ran with a frustrated look on his face.

They had traveled back in time to two and a half months ago, only three days before the Emperor’s containment failed, when the All World Protector Organization was at its peak.

So, just minutes after they emerged, the nearby All World Protector Base detected the disappearance of the Biological Master. As for the miniature missiles and other munitions, they hadn’t been discovered yet. Those would only be noticed during an inventory check, not under normal circumstances.

Only the disappearance of the closely monitored Omega Level Abnormality, the Biological Master, was deemed a containment failure, which is why it caused such a huge commotion.

Within a short half-hour, they locked onto Sun Zhen, because he had also vanished instantly while training at the original base, and he had been tracked by a satellite in the sky, naturally making him the prime suspect.

At first, there was only shouting, and then containment measures followed, targeting not just Sun Zhen but Qin Muye as well.

But Sun Zhen knew that he absolutely couldn’t be contained. Given his situation, he would quickly be contained due to being linked with an Abnormality. More importantly, he would be separated from Qin Muye, and all evidence would be confiscated, which would then become problematic.

If only Qin Muye could travel back in time alone, he wouldn’t have any evidence to directly prove future events.

“These are all evidence, we can’t throw them away,” Sun Zhen stated emphatically.

“No kidding, I know they are evidence, then why don’t you answer them directly, let them know the true nature of the events, can we stall for about two and a half hours?” Qin Muye wondered whether he should let his original body intervene.

But on second thought, his original body was still at the villa in the Dragon Vein, analyzing data.

In fact, Qin Muye also knew, the reason for such a major response wasn’t just because of the Biological Master’s disappearance, but more importantly, the Mundane Crystal had also gone missing.

Indeed, the Mundane Crystal was sealed within his avatars’ body. This item was a window into the sea of information and must be obtained.

If the Biological Master’s containment failed, it could still be quickly contained again at the beginning, but the Mundane Crystal was different. If misused, it could cause the entire civilization to shift, which was truly fearsome.

The dangers posed by the two were not the same. Even if someone used the Biological Master to turn themselves into hundreds of individual consciousnesses running free, it wouldn’t cause an ecological problem. But even a slight shift in civilization could mean a change in perception for everyone.

The level of harm was comparable to the King of the Sea of Clouds, who at least had likes and dislikes, but the Mundane Crystal couldn’t control its own dangers.

So while investigating, naturally, they closely watched Sun Zhen, whose actions were peculiar. Whether it was the Mundane Crystal, the Biological Master, or Sun Zhen, they all vanished in the same way.

Because of this similarity, they definitely needed to investigate thoroughly.

This led to Qin Muye and Sun Zhen being hunted.

Currently, they were in the wilderness, and Qin Muye had once suggested heading to a crowded city to delay their pursuers.

After all, it didn’t matter if people died now; after the next time travel, they would still be alive. But if the two of them were captured, who knows, they might have to go through this all over again in three days.

However, this proposal was rejected by Sun Zhen. Firstly, they simply couldn’t make it to the city unless they wanted a direct confrontation with the All World Protector Organization.

It was a chase now, so they would show mercy and not kill them because the All World Protector Organization wanted to know their situation. If they really headed for the city, they would be marked as dangerous targets.

Then it would no longer be a pursuit but an extermination.

They weren’t Abnormalities: the All World Protector Organization wouldn’t have any reservations or pressures.

As the captain of the Special Task Force, a frontline combatant, Sun Zhen clearly understood these things.

Trying to use civilians in the city as shields would truly be a dead end.

“Do you have any confidence in what comes next?” Qin Muye asked.

“No, we’ll hold out as long as we can,” Sun Zhen knew that with their current approach, a special task force had probably already laid a net ahead of them.

“How about you try taking me hostage? I can pretend to be an Abnormality. After all, I still have a Time Retrospective Pocket Watch, which should be enough to bluff them a bit,” Qin Muye proposed a cunning idea.

Sun Zhen’s eyes brightened. That’s a good idea indeed.

“Ahem, let’s get this straight first: it’s you who asked me to take you hostage. You can’t hold a grudge afterward,” Sun Zhen considered for a moment. Aside from Qin Muye being a bit small-minded, the plan wasn’t bad.

“Do I look like that kind of person?” Qin Muye glared at him. Thinking of himself as a learned man, how could he possibly be petty?

“Not at all, not at all. Then that’s settled,” Sun Zhen grinned wryly, but having gotten the clear, he decisively took action.

“Everyone stop, don’t move!!!” Sun Zhen’s voice was loud, and the following Special Task Force naturally halted their steps cautiously.

Seeing Sun Zhen holding his teammate hostage, they were all puzzled. Is he sick, taking a teammate hostage to threaten us?

“He is an Omega Level Abnormality·Time Retrospector. Put down your guns, or I will kill him.” Sun Zhen’s tone carried a murderous intent, indicating he was not bluffing.

Even to prove his point, he showcased the Time Retrospective Pocket Watch already embedded in Qin Muye’s left hand.

Seeing this, the Special Task Force didn’t dare to act rashly; instead, they immediately reported the situation and surrounded him to prevent escape and even installed spatial devices.

“Sun Zhen, I know you, the undeniable Soldier King of the Special Task Force, can you tell me why?” A projection appeared; it was none other than Dr. Ma, one of the Zodiac.

However, it wasn’t his real body; considering it involved time, he obviously had to come. He was suspicious of Sun Zhen’s sudden betrayal; he had never doubted the loyalty of any member of the Special Task Force.

“Because of the future, I can’t tell you now; I can only wait to talk to Dr. Ma from the past after the next retrospective. There isn’t enough time now.” Sun Zhen knew if he told the truth, the subsequent situation would definitely be out of his control.

“Are you stalling?” Dr. Ma saw through him immediately.

“Yes, but I can’t say it. Once I do, the future would be ruined!” Sun Zhen insisted firmly on this point.

“The Biological Master is on you, isn’t it?” Dr. Ma changed the subject.

“It’s on me, one of the key pieces of evidence, along with a Miniature Sonic Directional Missile and several similar weapons.” Sun Zhen did not hide this.

“Is it that you can’t tell, or I can’t know?” Dr. Ma switched directions.

“I can’t tell.” Sun Zhen stubbornly said, knowing it was a lie, but now he needed more lies to cover it up.

“Perfect, you need time, and we can play a question game; you just need to nod or shake your head.” Dr. Ma knew some things couldn’t be forced.

“Okay, ask.” Sun Zhen had no choice but to agree.

“The rest of you leave, I can handle things here.” Dr. Ma looked at the surrounding Special Task Force and directly had them withdraw.

The Special Task Force naturally had no objections and decisively left.

“How about this, am I sincere enough? Well, I’ll ask then. In the future, has a crisis arisen that even the All World Protector Organization can’t resolve?” Dr. Ma warned as soon as he started.

Sun Zhen nodded his head.

“You came back to avert this crisis, and everything started because of this.”

Sun Zhen nodded again.

“So now the cause of the crisis is what I’m thinking, an Omega Level Abnormality.”

This question made Sun Zhen hesitate, first nodding then shaking his head.

“You mean it’s not just a singular Omega Abnormality, but multiple or perhaps not at the Omega Level.”

Watching Sun Zhen nod again, Dr. Ma’s expression grew even more solemn; he could feel Sun Zhen was not lying.

Then this was quite a significant issue.

“The crisis will happen within a month.”

“Within ten days?”

With each inquiry, Dr. Ma also understood why Sun Zhen needed to travel back in time again, because with only three days left, indeed, there wasn’t enough time to prepare.

“Can I go back in time with you?” Dr. Ma asked the crucial question.

This question saw Sun Zhen firmly shake his head; one more Biological Master meant so much more trouble, not to mention another Dr. Ma could potentially cause the Time Retrospective Pocket Watch to evolve out of control again.

“I understand. I will ensure you succeed in going back this time,” Dr. Ma said.
