Chapter 387: Chapter 387 Blood Clan Queen: Third Master is like a god, not a god, like a demon, not a demon

Qin Ruan turned around to see Mr. Huo’s hand, as lustrous and perfect as jade, reaching out.

Mr. Huo grasped Qin Ruan by the wrist, flicked off Donald’s hand holding onto her, and pulled Qin Ruan back by the waist.

Furrowing his brows, Mr. Huo’s gaze was solemn and icy as he stared at Donald.

"Please show some respect to my wife. She is delicate and fragile, unable to withstand all these grand proceedings."

Donald swept his gaze over to Huo Chuan, Huo Zhi and the dozens of others, then back at his team of less than ten. A grimace flickered at the corner of his lips, and he didn’t look well.

It was clear that Huo Family outnumbered them. Delicate and fragile Qin Ruan?

This woman held nearly the same status as their Western Satan. Where was she frail and vulnerable?

Qin Ruan leaned into Mr. Huo’s arms, a smile in her eyes. She said to Donald, "Since you don’t trust me, why come all the way here to make a fuss. I’m tired even if you’re not."

Donald’s lips tightened, "My mother hates being touched."

Qin Ruan raised an eyebrow, "So, you’re not saving your mother?"

"Save her!" Donald gritted his teeth.

Qin Ruan narrowed her eyes, her tone chilling, "Even though you are a filial son, your ways are unlikable. I don’t owe you anything. I’ll decide whether or not to save your mother. When you, or rather, when the Rasambo Family come begging, at least show some courtesy. Don’t act like I owe you billions."

Donald replied in a deep voice, "Madam Huo, you are overthinking it. Will my mother wake up?"

Qin Ruan shot a frosty gaze at Donald, "Perhaps if you hadn’t stopped me earlier, your mother would’ve woken up by now."

At these words, the faces of Donald and his family members all turned pale.

The murderous intent that had been swirling around them instantly vanished.

Donald took steps back quickly, stepping aside to allow Qin Ruan passage. He bent into a bow towards her and pleaded, "Please, Madam Huo, save my mother."

Qin Ruan stepped out of Mr. Huo’s embrace, grinning at Donald, "I feel like I should charge more this time around. It’s because of all your threats."

Donald felt a wave of unease rising in his heart.

But with matters as they were, he wasn’t afraid of Qin Ruan’s demands anymore. The only thing he was truly afraid of was his mother not waking up.

Donald bowed once again, "Whatever Madam Huo needs, just say it. As long as you save my mother, the Rasambo Family will do its utmost to meet your demands."

"Remember, it was you who said that."

Once again, Qin Ruan approached the crystal coffin, glancing down at Queen Mariana inside.

She reached out slowly, her hand touching the cold and chilling arm of Queen Mariana.

Some parts of Queen Mariana’s jade-white arm were already starting to rot, like the long-dead corpse.

Qin Ruan moved her slim fingers up to Mariana’s head. Everyone watched, unable to detect the faint golden glow emanating from her palm.

The Nether Divine Power converged on her hands, driving it into Mariana’s head, streaming into her body like strands of thread.

Suddenly, a miraculous scene unfolded before everyone’s eyes.

Color returned to Mariana’s pallid face, and the rotting skin on her arm began to heal at a pace visible to the naked eye.

Donald was the closest to the crystal coffin. He watched clearly the changes on his mother’s body, his blue eyes shining with excitement. He tightly clenched his fist to suppress his exhilaration.

Qin Ruan could feel the Nether Divine Power rapidly draining from her body. Something stirred in her stomach, as if the child within was wriggling in protest.

She frowned slightly, one hand resting on her stomach to soothe the child inside.

After absorbing the Evil Qi multiple times and every time she used the Nether Power, she always felt some discomfort in her stomach.

Qin Ruan realized that both the absorption of Evil Qi and the use of Nether Power were intimately related to the child inside her.

Once she saw Mariana’s eyelashes flicker, indicating a sign of awakening, Qin Ruan quickly withdrew her hand.

Just as she was about to step back, someone embraced her from behind.

Holding Qin Ruan by the waist, Mr. Huo leaned in and asked with genuine concern, "Are you uncomfortable? You don’t look well."

Relaxing into the familiar voice, Qin Ruan leaned back into the secure and broad chest of Mr. Huo.

She replied languidly, "A little."

Without saying another word, Mr. Huo picked Qin Ruan up.

He walked steadily, carrying Qin Ruan over to a sofa and placing her gently onto it.

Mr. Huo crouched before Qin Ruan, stroked her head and said warmly, "Rest a while first. I’ll take you upstairs to rest later."

Qin Ruan obediently nodded.

"Mother!"

It was Donald’s voice, fraught with excitement.

Qin Ruan and Mr. Huo followed the sound and saw that Queen Mariana, who had just been laying in the crystal coffin, had now sat up.

Donald stood before the crystal coffin, his hands on the edge, staring at her with an emotional expression.

With eyes akin to Donald’s, Queen Mariana scanned the unfamiliar surrounding.

Her gaze swept over her former subordinates and slowly landed on Donald beside her.

"Donald, who awakened me?"

Queen Mariana’s voice was hoarse, her tone commanding.

"Mother!" Exclaimed Donald when he saw his mother waking up. He grabbed her hand tightly without letting go.

Overwhelmed with emotional relief, he reassured her, "I sought the aid of the Oriental God to save you."

"Oriental God?" Queen Mariana enquired, emphasizing each word with a slow and deliberate determination.

Donald clung to his mother’s hand and then gestured toward Qin Ruan, who sat across them on a couch.

"Mother, it’s her."

Mariana turned her gaze toward Qin Ruan. Her pallid complexion from the period of unconsciousness had now transitioned to a more lively and bewitching color.

Upon observing Qin Ruan, Mariana furrowed her brow and claimed, "She is not a god."

Qin Ruan laughed softly, "I have never declared myself a god. Your son merely perceives me as such."

Mariana studied the beautiful Eastern girl and stated, "You saved me, which signified power akin to the divine."

Qin Ruan nodded slowly, "Indeed, I carry divine power, and it was this power that saved you."

Donald exclaimed in surprise, "Mother, she isn’t the Oriental God?"

Mariana explained to her son, "Despite possessing divine power, she isn’t a god. Like us mortals, she is susceptible to birth, aging, sickness, and death. Divine power cannot avert the natural cycle of life and death."

Donald stared at Qin Ruan in astonishment, finding this revelation inconceivable.

He was sure he had sensed divine power from Qin Ruan, including the sacred radiance that vampires feared. He wondered why she couldn’t be a god.

Mariana grasped her son’s hand, "Donald, help me up."

"Yes, mother."

Donald gingerly assisted her out of the crystal coffin.

The mother and son moved gracefully, their every action emanating the etiquette of ancient nobility, a sight that evoked delight in the eyes of the spectators.

Mariana was nearly as tall as Qin Ruan. Standing beside her towering son, she appeared petite and endearing.

One would perceive this elegantly dressed mother-son pair as nobility from the upper echelons of society. Who could imagine that they were the former and current kind of the Blood Clan?

Supported by her son’s hand, Mariana started moving slowly towards Qin Ruan.

The sight of Mariana and her son approaching prompted the man squatting in front of Qin Ruan to rise and stand beside her. His exquisite and handsome face exuded an air of solemnity and elegance.

Mariana’s gaze fell upon the recently risen gentleman.

This sight left her visibly perturbed.

Suspended in her track, she turned her solemn gaze towards the gentleman.

"Who is he?"

Donald introduced, "This is Sir Huo, also known as Lord Huo. He is the husband of Mrs. Qin Ruan who summoned you from your slumber."

Qin Ruan’s designation seemed to have taken a fall. She had transitioned from being the Oriental God to merely being Mrs. Qin according to Donald, which was quite the downgrade.

Mariana muttered, "How curious, why does such a man exist?"

She cast an analytical gaze at Lord Huo, her eyes full of confusion and questions.

A flash of light flickered in Qin Ruan’s eyes as she got up and stepped in front of Lord Huo. She turned to Mariana and asked with a smile, "I wonder what you have discerned?"

Mariana unhesitatingly revealed, "This man appears to be a god, and yet he’s not; a demon, yet he’s not. He is shrouded by an intense dark energy."

Upon hearing this, Qin Ruan immediately thought of the unresolved mystery of the purple energy and the black evil energy that clung to Lord Huo.

She understood that the abilities of the Eastern and the Western worlds have distinct differences, and that Mariana had detected the energy field around Lord Huo.

Qin Ruan found Lord Huo’s hand, intertwined their fingers, and asked gently, "Have you noticed anything else, Queen Mariana?"

Mariana shook her head, her eyes resting firmly on Lord Huo, "He... is not as simple as he seems."

Lord Huo remained at the side, unfazed by the conversation around him. His demeanor was calm and composed throughout, without a trace of emotional fluctuation on his face.

Qin Ruan lifted her gaze, catching a trace of a smile playing on the corners of Lord Huo’s lips. His lightly pursed lips curved upward just the right amount. His immaculate jawline was distinctively visible in her line of sight.

She dismissed the tension that Mariana brought. Another one who knows about Lord Huo’s condition more than anyone else, she knew well about the West’s penchant for exaggeration.

Qin Ruan took Lord Huo and sat on the couch, her eyes darting between Mariana and Donald, "You need not concern yourself about my husband. The one who should be worried is Queen Mariana. I don’t think she can retain consciousness for more than half an hour."

Donald’s face fell, his voice icy cold as he demanded, "Why?!"

The concealed ruthlessness in his voice, exposing the selfishness and cruelty of vampires.

Even though Queen Mariana’s composure remained steady, Qin Ruan’s words hinted a trace of concern in her eyes.

Qin Ruan held Lord Huo’s hand, her gaze dropped to his fingers.

She had long since noticed his attractive hands.

This time though, Qin Ruan was emboldened to hold and admire his hand, larger than hers by a fair bit, which only made it even more visually pleasing.

Qin Ruan bowed her head, toying with Lord Huo’s hand as if she were a child with a new toy.

At Donald’s interrogative tone, Qin Ruan, without lifting her gaze, answered with a playful wording," I’ve mentioned before that I am not accustomed to working without rewards. Any effort I make demands compensation."

Donald, who was supporting his mother, walked up to Qin Ruan and Lord Huo, his handsome face darkened, "What do you want?!"

Qin Ruan glanced upwards at the pair of mother and son, "Sit and talk. I find it tiring to converse with people at this angle."

Donald and Mariana seated themselves down next to Qin Ruan and Lord Huo.
