Chapter 351: Chapter 351 Ruanruan: Indeed ruthless, worthy of the name Black Widow
The Bolin Family wizards, who had picked themselves up from the ground ready to question Qin Ruan, were even more infuriated at her words.
One of the middle-aged wizards denied strongly with a mocking look, "Impossible! The Rasambo Family has never signed a blood pact with humans in hundreds of years!"
They believed that was complete nonsense.
Qin Ruan’s beautiful lips curled into a smile, and she said fluently in common language, "Congratulations then, now you’ve seen it with your own eyes." Her tone was full of mockery.
The middle-aged wizard stood his ground: "A vampire signing a blood pact with a human, there’s no way we wouldn’t know."
Qin Ruan scoffed, "Perhaps the pact between undead and humans differs, they indeed made a pact. It only shows that your abilities to protect your home are lacking."
Before the Bolin Family wizards could say anything else, Nicholas shot them a chilling and dangerous look.
The wizards fell silent, not daring to argue with Qin Ruan anymore.
Nicholas leaned back in his chair, his hand on the table slightly trembling. "You’re right," he said to Qin Ruan, "I found out last night that I signed a blood pact with Donald."
Qin Ruan raised an eyebrow slightly, "He told you?"
Nicholas nodded, "Yes."
Qin Ruan said indifferently, "You should go home and prepare for the end."
Nicholas’s pale face was filled with despair, the depths of his eyes reflecting a hopeless and lifeless light.
Deep down, he felt resentful. The taste of waiting for death was something no one could truly understand unless they had experienced it.
Leslie put her arm around her brother’s shoulder, and pleaded to Qin Ruan, "Madam Huo, is there really no other way?"
Qin Ruan glanced at Leslie, her eyes showed complexity, "Can you tell me how you got yourself tangled up with Donald?"
Leslie looked uncomfortable at this topic.
She said awkwardly, "I met him at a bar and thought he looked pretty good. So, I had my men knock him out and took him away."
When Qin Ruan heard Leslie’s crude approach, she widened her eyes slightly.
She touched her nose and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Qin Ruan stopped laughing and shook her head at Leslie, "Knowing Donald’s identity now, do you think he would have been knocked out easily by your men and let you take him away?"
"Impossible!" Leslie exclaimed bitterly.
Indeed, she knew that their success back in the day had to have involved Donald’s cooperation.
Leslie took a deep breath and continued, "I was just interested in Donald’s appearance and, so, I slept with him a few more times. But he was always so cold, however good-looking he may be, after a while it gets boring."
Qin Ruan crossed her arms, leaning on the dining table, and nodded seriously, "You only wanted him for his looks. It is commonly said that love starts with appearance, falls for talent, remains for character, is reduced by physical infatuation, and eventually dissipates like a bubble."
Feeling understood, Leslie streamed out her words passionately, "I was only attracted by Donald’s good looks at the beginning, but it grew boring after a while, I still wanted to explore more in life, who would want to be with him."
Qin Ruan just smiled and didn’t say anything. Her attitude towards Leslie softened.
She did not see the dangerous light lurking in the deep eyes of the good-looking man sitting behind her at the table.
Starts with the looks, lust for the body, and then evaporates like a soap bubble?
The man felt this sentence was hinting at something.
Leslie continued, "After I broke up with Donald, and went to find the next target, strange things started to happen one after another. Every man I slept with would inexplicably die. After noticing something was wrong, I found our family wizard and realized it was all Donald’s doing. I also found out he was a vampire and he even said he wanted me for his bride. I only wanted him for his looks, being his bride would presumably mean facing him every day which would be so boring. To get rid of the obstacle in my colourful life, I joined forces with our wizard and killed him."
Qin Ruan gave Leslie a thumbs-up, her face full of admiration.
However, the next moment, her face darkened: "I can understand if you want to kill Donald, but why did you use your brother’s blood?"
Leslie answered matter-of-factly: "Nicholas and I are family, only the combination of a family member’s strong resentment and witchcraft can kill Donald."
She seemed to suddenly understand something: "Could it be that Nicholas made a blood pact with him as part of the process of killing Donald?"
Qin Ruan replied sarcastically: "Correct, you could also say that because of Nicholas’s blood, Donald’s undead is trapped in the mortal world."
Leslie’s fists clenched tightly, her face filled with rage: "What do we have to do now to kill that demon?"
Qin Ruan narrowed her eyes, her red lips lightly parted: "When you siblings both die, Donald will also disappear."
The words she uttered were cruel and merciless.
The conversation had gone back to its starting point; the Bolin siblings wanted to live, they didn’t want to die.
Nicholas’s raspy voice sounded: "Is there any other way?"
Qin Ruan’s expression was half-smiling, half-serious: "Do you mean a way to save you both or a way to kill Donald?"
This was a life-threatening question.
If they killed Donald, Nicholas and Leslie wouldn’t live either.
If Donald stayed unscathed, life wouldn’t get any easier for the siblings, they would just be slowly waiting for death.
Leslie asked in a deep voice: "Isn’t there a way to both kill Donald and keep us alive?"
"Clap clap clap—"
Qin Ruan applauded her: "You sure are greedy. You played around with men until you attracted the attention of the Vampire King. You killed him to shake him off, and now you want to eradicate his undead presence in the world. You certainly live up to your reputation as the Black Widow."
"I didn’t want to be his bride!" Leslie’s face twisted, her eyes filled with deep regret and guilt.
If she could go back to several months ago, she would never have gotten involved with Donald because of lust.
But it was too late.
The situation had driven both sides into a do-or-die situation.
With her arms folded, Qin Ruan lightly tapped her arm with her index finger while her gaze rested on Nicholas and Leslie.
A faint smile was on her lips: "Why don’t you two talk to Donald and see if there’s a chance for both sides to coexist peacefully? This is the only solution."
Nicholas took in her words and asked Qin Ruan: "How do we talk?"
Qin Ruan responded with a low laugh: "Figure it out yourselves, as long as you have the best bargaining chip."
Her gaze fell on Leslie, slightly shifting down to stare at her stomach.
"Ruanruan."
The third master called for her and stood up to walk over to Qin Ruan’s side.
He spoke gently to the Bolin siblings: "That’s all there is to say for now, we have other matters to attend to. We’ll be leaving first."
Third master took Qin Ruan’s hand and left the dining room.
"I am also full!"
Qin Mei put down his bowl and chopsticks and hastily followed, chasing after the figures of third master and his sister.
Josh was right on his heels. Before leaving, he sneakily took another glance at his two older cousins sitting at the dining table.
Huo Yirong also more or less figured out the predicament Nicholas and Leslie were in.
