Chapter 281: Chapter 47 A Little Accident_1

"So I suggest you surrender immediately. Once everything reaches the point of no return, it will be too late to accept defeat." The little rabbit leaning on her magic staff said to the wedding procession arrogantly, "You can’t imagine what you’re up against, submit now and you still have a chance."

"I seem to have heard something alike two days ago." Vivian, swinging her magic staff on a horse, stated sarcastically, "Not long after, the one who said it ran away crying. I wonder who that was..."

"N..Nonsense." The little rabbit panicked momentarily but quickly regained her composure, "This time is different. It’s the most reliable and powerful Elder Brother who’s taking action himself. There’s no one who can stop his will. Your defeat is imminent."

"Did you come all the way here to feed us this nonsense?" Vivian scoffed, "If that’s all there is to it, I must spank you."

"You disrespectful one." The little rabbit, covering her butt, stepped back, "Of course there’s more."

Aside from Lina, who maintained her guard next to the luxury carriage, no one heard the beautiful and mournful voice of Freya, filled with sorrow and despair, whispering to herself ever since the little girl with the rabbit mask showed up.

"So it’s her, it’s her after all." Freya’s voice bore the remnants of tears, "So it really is them! Haha, haha, my love, my happiness, my future, what have they used them for? Could it truly be your doing? Are you trying to tell me that my perfect dream of love is about to be shattered? Are you trying to show me that all I have pursued was nothing more than a farce?"

Lina sighed, and although she didn’t know what Freya had figured out, she could tell that she had reached the peak of despair. Wanting to comfort her, Lina found herself at a loss for words, ultimately lightly patting the carriage door as an expression of silent support, analogous to patting Freya’s shoulder.

"I’m fine, I’m fine." Freya sobbed, her voice becoming indistinct, "It’s just a momentary outburst of emotion. I will recover soon, don’t worry about me."

"Eat less, you won’t fear getting fat?" Lina suggested helplessly, "I understand that you are grieving, but if you eat whenever you are upset, you will definitely gain weight."

"My dream has since woken up, my happiness no longer exists, what is there left for me to fear?" Freya remarked melancholically, "Now I just want to know why everything turned out this way."

"It seems that you have guessed who your opponent is." Lina asked, "Can you tell me?"

"He is... Nevermind." Freya sighed, "I’m guessing you will know soon enough as well."

"You can’t possibly imagine the power and determination of Elder Brother." The little girl pointed at the caravan and said, "I am here to tell you in advance that two rampaging armored bulls are rushing here on the road less than ten kilometers away. They will be here in ten minutes. Drop your baggage and find cover now, once you hesitate, it will be too late to run."

"It’s really armored bulls?" Catherine sighed, "You’re not going to tell me that it’s the breeding season for armored bulls?"

"Seems like you are quite smart, you’ve guessed it right." The little girl laughed arrogantly as she lifted her head, "Yes, if you dare to stay here, you will have to face two rampaging Legendary Rank armored bulls. I don’t think I need to tell you what will happen. So, run away now, there’s still time."

"You’re sure there’s still time?" Pannis gestured behind the girl, "You’d better look behind you"

"Look at what?" The little girl turned around and was met with a shocking scene. Not far away, at most a kilometer away, dust clouds were rolling in, and the earth was shaking. A rider on a dark steed was dashing ahead, with two gigantic one-horned armored bulls almost tailgating the stallion, the rider could clearly hear their heavy breathing.

"How can it be so fast?" The little girl shrieked, "Wasn’t there still ten minutes left? They’re already here. Run, everyone, things went out of control, flee now!"

"There’s no time to escape." Catherine gestured: "Prepare to fight."

The moment Catherine’s hand sign rose, the rest of the adventure team set into motion. Lina abandoned the carriage and rushed to the front line. As her palm pressed against the ground, four stone walls shaped like arrows rose from the center of the road, closely arranged one after another, forming the first line of defense against the onslaught. As soon as the short wall took shape, Vivian waved her magic staff, and a thick layer of earth element armor quickly covered the entire wall. With its excellent impact absorption and reinforcement properties, the stabilized earth element could effectively prevent the wall from being destroyed by the collision. Catherine, bearing a shield and on guard, stood behind the low wall, the sharp end of the Falcon Shield dug deep into the ground, the shield facing the direction of the armored bulls’ charge. She hoped to redirect the bulls’ first charge sideways as much as possible to prevent the team from being devastated by the first wave of attack. As for whether they could survive under the enraged armored bulls’ attack after the first blow, the girls had already lost heart in thinking about it. After all, behind them were dozens of lives that needed protection. Regardless of whether they could survive or not, the girls had to try their hardest to save them.

In fact, it wouldn’t be difficult for the girls to retreat now, but then the wedding party members under Ayrland’s command, who were rushing to get off the carriage and rearrange, would face the rampaging attack. They were not combat personnel, and they couldn’t resist the attack of the armored bulls. If the girls were to flee, they were certain to die. So, the girls ruled out the idea of fleeing without even considering it, or rather, the thought had never even occurred to them.

The luxury carriage also underwent changes. The exorbitantly-priced wooden carved carriage rapidly crumbled, revealing a metal frame. Under the power provided by the crystal, numerous metal plates changed their position continuously, rising, falling, and translating, quickly based on the carriage as the core built into a small fortress made entirely of metal. Three small holes opened at the front of this fortress, and from the depth of the holes emerged three dark crystal energy gun barrels, inside of which vaguely flowed streams of energy.

As for Pannis, no one knew since when, but he had mysteriously disappeared from the horse’s back. Although they didn’t know where he was at the moment, the girls believed that he might be hiding somewhere, ready to provide critical assistance when needed.

"Don’t block the road! My big brother still needs to come through." The little girl with the rabbit mask cried out in fear as divine spells obstructed their path. "You can’t leave him out there."

"Are you a fool? His horse can leap over low walls." Lina grabbed the rabbit girl by her collar and yanked her in. "If we survive this, I’m going to give you all a good telling off."

The black horse ran at an astonishing speed, reaching them in no time. The horseman hesitated briefly at the sight of the crowd that failed to scatter in time, then veered off to avoid the convoy, charging towards the wilderness. The armored bulls did not indiscriminately attack as rumored, but red-eyed, they relentlessly chased after the horseman, grazing past the convoy before disappearing into the wilderness.

"Why are they suddenly so fast?" The knight on the black horse left behind this tragic query as he sped by.

"Doesn’t he know that during mating season the speed and strength of armored bulls increase by over 20%?" The girls stared blankly as the dust clouds rolled past them. Catherine spoke with a twitch at the corner of her mouth, "But he’s not so bad. Even at a time like this, he knows to avoid our location."

"Of course, my big brother is the kindest." The little rabbit girl declared haughtily, "I love him the most."

"Shut up! This is all your doing!" Vivian pinched the little rabbit girl’s rosy face beneath the mask, huffing angrily, "So kind, huh? You’re the ones who have screwed things up! You still dare to speak! Look at what you’ve done. Are you trying to get us killed?"

"Ouch, it hurts! Let go of me." The rabbit girl struggled free from Vivian’s grasp and stepped aside, hands akimbo, "We never intended to harm you guys. We had no idea those stupid bulls would come so fast."

"Miss Catherine." Ayrland looked at the strange turn of events and chuckled bitterly, "Should we continue to scatter?"

"Uh, I think we should keep moving," Catherine pointed at the distance helplessly, "They’re coming back."

"Help!" Dust clouds rose as the ground shook. The black-horse rider had made a large loop in the wilderness and once again passed by the side of the convoy, leaving behind terrified screams, "Somebody save me!"

"Is there something else on his horse?" Lina asked uncertainly, "Why does it look like...?"

"It looks like a calf." Catherine sighed, "He swiped a calf that’s barely a couple of months old as bait? That’s audacious."

"No wonder the armored bulls are after him like he’s their mortal enemy." Lina watched calmly as the dust cloud receded again, "But why doesn’t he just drop the calf and then escape?"

"At such a high speed, the calf would be killed if he dropped it," Catherine explained, "That would truly mark him as a mortal enemy. The safety of this road might be jeopardized for a while. But if he tries to slow down and then drop the calf, the bulls would catch up to him immediately. He’s kind of cornered himself."

"I give up. Somebody please save me!" The black-horse rider sounded on the verge of tears the third time he galloped past the convoy, "Help! Save my life!"

The girls had grown numb to the constant ground-shaking nearby and watched impassively as the rider galloped away, "How do we save him?"

"Even if you ask me, I have no idea."

"What if you, big sister, get on a horse and lead the armored bulls away?"

"Cut it out, will you? He’s got a good horse. Mine isn’t. I’d probably get trampled to death by the armored bulls in no time."

"So what do we do? Just stand here and watch them race?"

"Uh, maybe when the armored bulls tire out, they’ll go back to sleep?"

"Haven’t you decided yet? I can’t keep this up ..." The rider hadn’t finished talking during his fourth pass when the black horse stumbled and fell, rolling into a tangled heap with its rider.

"Don’t you dare hurt him!" The little girl screamed as she saw her brother fall not far from her. She rushed in front of the rider and spread her arms wide, trying to block the stampeding armored bulls with her body. (To be continued.
